Is it true they didn't film the last Beacon show?

On another site I'm on someone claimed that they contacted the band's management and were told that the ABB did not film or is not releasing the last show on DVD, is this true?

There's no reason to think it was recorded.

Most of the show is on YouTube, if not all of it: https://www.youtube.com/user/johnamonte54/videos
But there's no reason to think they had the thing filmed professionally. They didn't announce it and there was no evidence of it at the show. Some people have talked about 'the Beacon cameras,' but those were probably just the Brotherhood of Light setup and I don't know if they even record anything.

I was there and did not see anyone with cameras. However there are CD's of the show at HittintheNote.com. Plus all the people that downloaded to YouTube

It is kinda sad there will be no "official" video document of 10/28-29/14, but... as with the original incarnation & all the ABB ghosts, we can "LISTEN" to the final show, and paint pictures on our radios about the way it used to be.
ABB was (mostly) always about THE MUSIC, not the image, and that's a-ok with me.
Ride on ALL the Brothers Allman!!! You made your mark, for so many years - THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I will continue to put on the shows, and play at maximum volume for all to enjoy. Hopefully 45 years from now, some newbie will ask me "what IS THAT!!??!!", and i'll just smile and listen with them.

@ downsouth,
Speaking of newbies... a couple of weeks back I was driving, for a couple of hours, with my nephew (who just started high school). I was playing Mt. Jam from live at Ludlow Garage. He was real quiet for a long time, and finally asked "Who is this" in a voice of astonishment. I filled him in best I could with the limited time we had, but I think he's on board. His birthday is coming up so I bought him a tee shirt when I was at the final show last week. He will also be receiving a copy of that show come Solstice time, as I preordered two of them.
There's hope left with these kids!
Steve

of course they are going to release video and CD . Maybe not the last show but the last run .Do you really think that they are going to let that kind of money slip away ? . The videos will be out and 2 years from now when someone throws enough money at Greg ,he will reform the brothers not this line up and maybe not a whole tour .but that big payday is looming ,
.They have to let at least 1 year go ,so the hype builds .Its business .

Can't release the video if it doesn't exist.......

There's already a CD: https://www.munckmusic.com/wms/allman/index.html
Given all the other projects they've passed up, I don't think they'll send someone into the studio to turn this into a bigger release just to sell a couple thousand copies once the band is already out of the headlines. The ABB has done many inexplicable business things over the years but I think they know exactly how big their market is, and it's not that big. During the run I talked to someone who insisted the band was going to get back together immediately and do a star-studded farewell bash at MSG around Christmastime, and it doesn't look like that's happening either since Gregg even made a statement that emphasized the band was done.

That's kind of the important part.

'cuz I did the video

Here is a quick test video from Peach Festival... this is not from the Beacon, but to show you the quality of the video.

Why did they have you film the show? (I love your photography, by the way. But could you explain this stuff in full?)

This is GREAT news!!! Can't wait to see what's in store... How many cameras? Just the one? Those of us lucky enough to have been there that night know how cool it will be to see this released on video!!!

The last one took five years, so whatever information you have would be appreciated.

Great news!
Awesome footage!
Hopefully this will see the light of day - thanks!!!

patience is a virtue... some things take time to finalize
How many cameras at the Beacon? Folks who were there didn't notice cameras. Did you use small robotics or something similar to GoPro?

Incredible....the angle is perfect; I wish more live concerts featured shots like that, where I can watch both the guitar player's hands and fretwork.
Peachfest was my last two shows; I hope some of this footage will also make it out.....I'm blown away by that Liz Reed Derek snippet!!!!
Thank yu for sharing the footage; you made my day!!!

dmccabe - Thank you for your photography and for that video snippet. You photos took us "there" when so many of us were miles away! ThankyouThankyou!! Glad to hear some of it got filmed.
And that footage of Derek at peachfest is amazing. Even if Derek didn't play slide he'd be one of my favorite living performers. And that footage only shows on style of Derek's. He's got another 5 or so playing personalities.

Derek McCabe! You ROCK! Don't need all the details, just to know that there is footage out there is a huge relief! Hope the channels are opened and everything falls into place for this treasure to see the light of day, while we're all still lookin' at the green side of the grass! I know it's a business decision for the band, but to not document this historic event for a Hall of fame, important historical musical group was just beyond belief for those of us who've loved this music for a long long time! you've made me smile today!!!!

Unless there were multiple cameras set up like Derek McCabe's through out the building with the pre-approval of the ABB for a future release, I wouldn't get too excited.
This isn't like the 40th Anniversary DVD where it was filmed for Moogis and they just did a transfer from what Moogis filmed.

This is great news! I would love to see the last show, or more of the Peach festival. When you're able to share more details, please do. Thanks!

Wow, that would be something..Agree, Marley,,knowing their history it will take years before we see it.....byw, just watched the Peachfest snippet....You sir, are a genius..I cannot even imagine watching a full show with such amazing color and angles..Trust me everyone...go watch this NOW!

Not sure what "angles" in the vimeo clip all are talking about? I only saw one, and that was straight on.
Sure is sweet though! 😛
I will say this...wouldn't want to do acid and watch a whole dvd with that camera shot, and the screen in the background! 😮 😉

One last point..listen to Oteil on that clip---just as good!
