Haven't heard of this particular show ever having been in circulation or traded but it does appear on the Live Show Database and the band did make a swing through the west coast during that time. Would be great to be able to listen to and enjoy it.

I wonder where on the site that he posted about it? I would remember had I seen the post, Duane site? I'm sure any number of folks would be interested in trying to get it modified and available to hear.

Saw this posted on FB with a photo of the disc and a little byline that included how the recording was made with the band's permission. The gent was looking for someone to help him remix it......

I'm sure there's someone on here who can help.

I haven't had the time to search the site but I thought maybe he put it up in the taper section or something....

I don't do Facebook but certainly someone on here who does could reach out to the guy. I t would be AWESOME to add another Duane show from late 71 to our collection.

Wonder if it has a version of Blue Sky. They were playing it in late 1971 live then recorded it, Standback and Little Martha in Miami, took a break and Duane was gone just like that! 😔

Duane was so visible and clearly the leader when they were on stage even though he didn't sing much at all but was clearly the man in the front line. Did most of the taking between songs and Berry and Gregg would talk some and I never saw Dickey, Butch and Jaimoe say anything until they started playing Blue Sky and Dickey would of course sing with Gregg backing him on the chorus and Dickey would say perhaps " thank you" at the end.

Well I guess I only saw them play Blue Sky once before Duane left the band. So I don't offer a good sampling.

I just didn't see how they could continue without Duane and later it came out the band thought it was over too until Butch told them finishing Eat A Peach and getting back on the road is the only way to deal with the loss and it's what Duane would want.

But Butch said Berry Oakley just couldn't accept it. He could not live in a world which didn't have Duane in it. He had bonded with Duane that much and Butch said it was actually a relief when Berry also died.

I always thought that was strange thing for Butch to say.

This seems completely unnecessary to say but why doesn't someone reach out to the guy through Facebook and get this thing moving? I found his account in less than 2 seconds but I don't have a Facebook account so that is as far as I can go. Hey Old Coot do you do Facebook? I know you are interested in this. Let me know what I can do to help?

My wish is the 9/16/71 New Orleans Warehouse show could get some of the newer digital methods done to it.

A lot of time and love has already been put into upgrading the analog versions (thank you).  It is very enjoyable as is.  IMHO, the performance is as good as or better thatn Filmore East.  But....    (just wishing)

I have no technical skills for this, but am COMPLETELY willing to help fund the kind soul's efforts who would undertake this themselves, if that happens to be a constraint, and so long as its posted for all to enjoy.

DM me please

@bigv Mashako was definitely one of the people that worked on remastering 9/16/71

John DuBois was the person that originally recorded the show.  He did a lot of work on his reel to reel’s electronics and head alignment to improve the playback.  He worked on it many times.

I think the person you are thinking of was Capt. Skipper.  (Wallace Littlewood) He remastered and shared many many show.

Again thank you to all of them!

Marion Sindorff?  He was a poster on the previous site that had lots of ABB pics and memorabilia.  It's a good bet he'd know if he's around.

Unfortunately, both Capt. Skipper and Marion Sindorf are no longer with us.  Both were true fans and are missed.
