The plan to shut down Gitmo
They never called them POW's, they made very sure to call them "enemy combatants" after they created that new label.
People also refer to the Iraq war, but Congress never agreed for us to go to wager war, even the United Nations did not give the nod to go there, and since we would not have had enough votes from other countries for us to go there, remember we never took the vote but went anyway?
A lot of things have been done, we call it "military actions" not wars. If the detainees at Gitmo were true prisoners of war, they could be held on American soil couldn't they? But they never were.
