I posted links to the entire Crossroads 2026 shows, Day One & Day Two.  But they're really long, and in case anyone missed it, here's Billy Gibbons & The BFG Band's entire scorching 25 minute set from Day One.  Bill Murray says it all:  "The cool has entered this building."  I couldn't agree more.  BFG includes Chris Layton (SRV's Double Trouble), Drums, and Mike Flanigin, Bass and Vocals.  I've watched it several times, just can't get enough.......

REST IN PEACE DUSTY HILL AND FRANK BEARD

I listen to the set and enjoyed it. Billy is a good player and song writer. And a cool vocalist.

I liked the dirty tone Billy got with that Tele. Inserting paint scheme and the bass matches Billy's guitar. He and Dusty did that too.

Good stuff

Although Billy lost his fast ball years ago and always seems to need his rig perfectly set up to get anywhere close to the sound you'd expect... I'd still rather see him over 90% of the musicians out there

@islalala Yes I agree. Billy still has his mojo and spirit.

I read recently Billy worked carefully with manufactures to get his rig just right. One item was carefully selecting pickups for his Tele guitars that have the gritty and fat tone of his famous "Pearly Gates" Les Paul minus the weight on his shoulder for a long set.

First time I saw them was about 1973 when a girl I was dating was big on Alice Cooper and wanted to go so I took her to the Alice Cooper show and Z. Z. Top opened and they kicked butt big time. They were dressed in western attair and Billy and Dusty didn't have beards. I had never heard of them but it was hard charged Texas blues and boogie which to me was a thousand times better than Alice Cooper.

Just a three piece but they were tight and came to play.

AXS used to have a series some time back called Rock And Roll Road Trip w/ Sammy Hagar.  This has got to be my favorite segment.  Billy Gibbons and Sammy are backstage before ZZ Top's show @ The Mountain Winery in Saratoga, CA (Bay area).  Billy shows off his new (at the time) custom-made Gibson SG.  Then at just before the 6:00 mark, Billy and Sammy perform an impromptu jam of a couple of ZZ Top classics.  PRICELESS!  I don't know if there's anyone else who has quite Billy's dirty tone.  One of those guitar players for which you can tell who it is once he first strums a chord........

@robslob Last time I saw ZZ Top Billy played a SG and what a fat dirty tone!! I saw Billy on TV a few months later and he played a red Tele which had a similar tone.

Red Devil pickups? Yes. " Red Devil Pickups! No need to modify your instrument. Just drop in a Red Devil and you are ready to kick butt!!" Billy says on an interview I just watched.

Warren Haynes said Dickey invented his own style and tone and in just a few notes you know it's Dickey.

You are right robslob. Billy is another with his own unique style and tone. I would say B. B. King was another as well as Stevie Ray Vaughn. Duane probably is one. Jeff Beck another.

Warren said after standing next to Dickey night after night he realized he needed to get his style and tone together and I think Warren did accomplish that and Derek too evolved into his own style after sounding like Duane and Elmore when he was very young.

David Gilmore is another with his own tone and style. Eddie Van Halen would also be one. I was never into that Van Halen, Steve Vai over the top shredding hot rod style. Like Buddy Rich if he had played electric guitar.

Several of the young guys who hang out at the big music store here are totally into those shredding heavy metal guitar players. They don't appreciate any of the ABB guitar players. Iron Maiden and Chinese Rocket Launchers are impressive with their speed and fret board gymnastics but after several solos it begins to wear thin with me. There isn't anything pretty about it it seems.

Of course they just laugh at me. I'm just an old man to them. Like I viewed fans of Tommy Dorsey and Harry James when I was their age.

Alright!!!

@robertdee:  Great video.  Loved that version of Blue Jean Blues.  If you want to look for a current dyed-in-the-wool Bluesman.......look NO further than Billy Gibbons...........
