Top reactions in Gallup poll: Clinton 'dishonest,' Sanders 'socialist'

The top reactions to Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders in a new Gallup poll are "dishonest" and "socialist," respectively.
In a word list of what comes to mind about Clinton, 21 percent of respondents described the former secretary of State as "dishonest/liar/don't trust her/poor character" in the survey released early Tuesday.
The next closest word associations are "dislike her" (9 percent), "like her" (8 percent), "capable of being president/qualified" (7 percent) and "criminal/crooked/thief/belongs in jail" (7 percent).
For Sanders, 12 percent listed "socialist" as the word to describe him. Another 6 percent said "older/aged," while "favorable" and "fresh face/new ideas/change for the better" both received 5 percent.
The survey broadly underscored the findings of other polls of the Democratic race, where Clinton is generally viewed as qualified while Sanders is viewed as more trustworthy.
The perceptions of Clinton come after she edged out Sanders in Iowa and Nevada, while Sanders picked up a big win in New Hampshire. The pair are battling ahead of the South Carolina primary on Saturday.
Gallup noted that "dishonest" was also the most frequent response when they asked the same question about Clinton in 2008. And most references to "socialist" for Sanders in the latest survey came from Republicans.
The survey of 1,014 adults was conducted Feb. 13–14 with an overall margin of error of 4 points.

When was the last time they had food rationing in Canada, or Sweden, or Norway? I don't remember cars or housing looking very different than in the US either - if anything it is generally better.

I never thought I would vote for a socialist, but the conservatives have been calling Obama a socialist for years and the economy is way better than it was before he took over. I guess the term's usage as an insult can't be applied anymore.

A man was removed Friday by police officers from a Hillary Clinton campaign rally in South Carolina, after raising questions with husband and former President Bill Clinton about his wife’s role in the Benghazi terror attacks.
“Four (Americans) were killed and your wife is trying to cover it up,” said the protester, who said he’s a Marine sergeant and eight-year, active-duty veteran.
Hillary Clinton was secretary of state during the Sept. 11, 2012 terror attacks on a U.S. outpost in Benghazi, Libya, in which U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans were killed.
Families of the victims say Clinton told them in the immediate aftermath of the attacks that the strikes were inspired by an online, anti-Islamic video. Clinton’s emails show she knew within hours of the strikes that they were terror related.
“I heard you,” Bill Clinton said at the rally in Bluffton, S.C., in an effort to respond to the protestor, over cheer and boos and before sheriff deputies removed him. “You listen to me now.”
Clinton is the Democratic frontrunner in the race, leading primary challenger Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders by double digits in national polls and in South Carolina, which on Saturday is holding its Democratic primary.
However, polls show voters still have deep concerns about Clinton's trustworthiness over such issues as Benghazi and her uses as secretary of state of a private email server for official correspondence.
Emails from Steven in the months before that attacks show that the State Department, which Clinton ran from 2011 to 2013, didn’t response to his request for better security at the outpost.
Clinton needs “to take responsibility for dropping the ball,” the Marine told the Island Packet/Beaufort Gazette outside the venue, after being removed. “The fact that she is not in prison now is mind-blowing.”

Former President Bill Clinton became angry when he was heckled by protesters during a campaign event in Bluffton, South Carolina on Friday.
The protesters demanded to know if his wife Hillary Clinton lied about the four American deaths that occurred during the attack in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012.
A man claiming to be a military veteran began talking about the Veterans Administration and the former president appeared to grow impatient with the man.
“What do you think should be done with the VA?” Clinton asked.
The man responded that he’s seen Gold Star families “who have mourned.”
“We had four lives in Benghazi killed and your wife tried to cover it up.”
The crowd began to moan and boo in unison.
The man described himself as a Marine.
The man continued to attempt to talk.
“I heard your speech. I heard your speech. Will you let me answer? I’m not your commander in chief anymore but if I were, I’d tell you to be more polite and sit down,” Clinton said, growing angrier as the man began screaming at him.
“Do you have the courage to listen to my answer? Don’t throw him out. Shut up and listen to my answer. I’ll answer it,” Clinton said to the man as the individual was led out by law enforcement.
Another woman yelled out, “Hillary lied over four coffins! She lied and she lied to those families, so all those families are liars? I want to know. Did she lie?”
Clinton responded, “Are you going to give me a chance to answer?”
“Answer. Did she lie?” the woman said.
“No,” Clinton responded.
“Those families are lying?” The woman asked.
“Will you listen to me?” Clinton responded.
At that point the crowd began to drown her out as she shouted, “No, I’m not going to shut up!”
“Why are you trying to not listen to my answer?” Clinton inquired.
“I am,” she said.
“Are you afraid?” he asked.
“No. I’m not afraid because I know you’re going to lie,” she said.
Law enforcement grabbed the woman and began to lead her out of the room at that point, as she screamed “She lied!”
Hysterical. 2 people disrupt a Clinton rally by screaming and yelling and not allowing the President to address their questions but it's Clinton who "loses it". I guess some people will just see what they want to see.

The Democratic presidential front-runner mistakenly cited a “constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” during the interview with host Steve Harvey.
“We’ve got to say to the gun lobby, you know what, there is a constitutional right for people to own guns, but there’s also a constitutional right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that enables us to have a safe country where we are able to protect our children and others from this senseless gun violence,” she said.
Harvey offered her an approving “absolutely.”
But the famous “life, liberty” line is, of course, from the Preamble to the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. It says: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
