Posted by: @leeDoes anyone have any predictions for the weekend?
I like Cleveland as I am on the Joe Flacco bus.
I hafta roll with the Chefs in the second game. Mahomes and Kelce will be fine, regardless if Taylor attends. Glad we have Peacock to watch it though.
Pitt/Buf - Buf rolls.
GB/Dallas - I think Dallas should roll them but the matchup has always been fun.
The big one for me is Detroit & the Rams. I didn't want to face Stafford and I'm afraid he will exploit the Detroit secondary.
Philly still has enough to beat Mayfield, right?
My $ will be on Flacco to throw at least one int, under on KC/Mia (and Kelce to have 6+ catches) and Buff/Pitt under (took that much earlier in the week), Cowboys and Rams to cover and under between Phil/T Bay.
As to just straight outcomes, Cleveland, KC, Buffalo, Dallas, LA and Tampa.
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

3-0 yesterday, the Flacco prop was my biggest wager. Moving the Buff/Pitt game scrubbed all previous wagers, will probably just leave that one alone now, total bounced four points. Today, I still like the Rams and Cowboys on the spread numbers, may buy Dallas down to 6 1/2.
"Is that a real poncho or is that a Sears poncho?"

Well, I was 0-2 yesterday. I don't know why I picked Miami, always go with the playoff experience.
I was surprised to see the Texans destroy the Browns, mostly because I haven't paid any attention to the Texans ever. Apparently they have some hot rookie QB? Who knew?

Posted by: @leeSorry, no way The Pack wins in Dallas, my friend. Cowboys by double digits.
if you say so, friend 😉 never bet on McC in the playoffs. Dan Quinn probably just had a few HC interviews canceled.
Packers are 9-1 against Dallas over the past 10 meetings, undefeated in ATT Stadium. Turned into a really fun season (so far)

Well I know I never said "beat down", as I have never used that term in my life. Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised as I didn't care who won. Aaron Jones all by himself got me 30 points in my playoff pool and Cee Dee Lamb has gotten me another 12.
They should change the name of this weekend from "Super Wildcard Weekend" to "Super Boring Weekend". So Far all of the games have been blowouts. I doubt that will happen tonight.
Flacco killed me yesterday. He was a nice story this year though.

Didn't he lead a team to a Super Bowl win?

and many playoff losses since with better teams than the 2023 Cowboys. That 2010 SB team was spunky and a long-shot that no one bet on, but McC is not a clutch coach.

Actually I am two out of three correct. And the fantasy thing is going great.
And hey, my Lions have won ONE playoff game in my life so I have no sympathy for any other fanbase!

Yeah but he still coached the Pack to a SB.
Based on your reasoning how do you feel about LaFleur as he had three 13-3 seasons and no rings to show for it. Is he not clutch and should be fired?

@bill_graham
Oh stop, no, your reasoning is wrong. I appreciate the McC years in GB, never said he should be fired. My point was he’s already lost with much better teams over many more years - lots of great playoff wins, lots of fun wins which I always focus on. But also lots of tough playoff losses over many more years than LaFleur. He's a solid coach but not one anyone is afraid of, especially when you combine him with the Cowboys and Jerryworld.
Lions get a W, good for them. Happy for Goff and Motown. No kneecaps were harmed.

bitten you mean😆hehe - yes & resurgent Red Wings topped off a sweep Sunday in MC beating Tor, always sweet, & winging to a point of Leafs
Just more sno in Buffa-low, I mean a magnet or what - right in the path of all the big lake dishes out
the ear-eye-ee was risin’, & the gin was gettin low/& I scarcely think we’ll get a drink til we get to Buffalo-a-o til we get to Buffalo😵💫(Weavers version)🎶
🏈big wins today in Buff Phila
elsewhere on Erie, fun run for Browns while it lasted
Pats made very good hire in Jerod Mayo, he’ll be a good coach
thank you & happy retirement coach Belichick - alongside Brady the greatest run ever, & A Tandem For The Ages
may your ‘chick ‘n ‘vich hoop counterpart, coach Popovich, also have a happy retirement soon
the two winningest coaches ever
🏀briefly, rookie Victor W has a chance to become another Jokic -
a new voice who knows the modern game & the complex new breed of athlete, would help him attain that, imho - props to Gregg always

same thing in Buff, Sabiz pitch a shutout, delirious fans spill outta the Aud & head out in the snow to Orchard Pahk or the nearest watering holes to see Bills complete the sweep for their best day ever
no playoffs in Boston - we had our own 3-0 today & look to sweep tonite in Tor

Wow Sang, there have been five games this weekend and you have picked every one of them wrong. Going for a "perfect" record tonight?

Philly fans are calling for Siriani to be fired, which is typical Philly. He's done good work, they can right the ship next season.
But Browns fans have to be wondering what could have been had they not chased Mayfield out of town. I never understood that. Now we have a classic NFC Central basement matchup - TB@DET!
Meanwhile, no surprises in Buffalo. There was a tornado an hour north of me and the local CBS weatherman took the opportunity to take over the airwaves for most of the first half. The outrage by football fans on the facebook live feed was more entertaining than the game, but I bet Paramount+ got a few new subscribers.

I went 4-2 this past weekend thanks to Joe Flacco going full Delhomme. Should be some fun games this weekend.
HOU-BALT - no reason the Ravens shouldn't win this one. Lamar ain't Joe Flacco. But it also has upset written all over it - young hungry QB, team no one is paying attention to against a front-runner #1 seed. RAVENS.
SF-GB - my head is telling me my Packers are going to get run over by SF again, but the last time the Packers were the bottom seed in the playoffs the won the Super Bowl. PACKERS
TB-DET - it's a good matchup but but the Lions seem more tested. LIONS
KC-BUFF - probably the most even mathcup of the weekend. I think Buffalo finally gets over the hump, they've been surging late in the season. BILLS

Agree with everything you said but I would be afraid of Tampa if I was the Lions. They have a pretty good defense and their QB is playing well. Lions can get shaky at times.
As far as a GB-SFR is concerned I agree logic says the 49er's should win going away but this Packer team is on fire right now. I think the Pack Offense will score so the game comes down to whether Barry can scheme to stop the 9er's offense enough to keep it close.

Joe Barry might have saved his job last week, but I'm not confident the defense will be as dominant against SF's offense. But it sure would be nice to avenge 2021. And 2019. And 2013. Oh, and 2012...
And yeah, the TB-DET game is another coin flip. TB has a hot hand right now. But I think Motown is going to be LOUD.

@porkchopbob I really hope Barry goes. The Pack could have been at least 12-5 if the defense had played average during the losing streak.
They have the talent but need a coach who knows how to use it IMHO

I wouldn't be sad to see him go, the defense did look like it couldn't stop a runny nose just a few weeks ago, but they did turn things around. There were definitely some winnable games (i.e., the Giants game), but sometimes you have to lose to learn how to win and they shook off the 4-game losing streak like a veteran squad. 7-3 down the stretch doesn't look so bad when you see how well TB is still playing and the Steelers did make the playoffs even with a putz at QB.

Lots of banter there. Regarding Baker, did he do anything for Cleveland? I would have sent him packing as well.
Yes, Flacco bombed. And I was on his bandwagon for my pool! I think he is throwing a pick-six as I type.
Detroit and T Bay in the NFC Central? Yeah Baby! I hope Tampa wears the orange ice cream bar uniforms.
You guys know about Joe Barry so you might have to elaborate on why you might or not want him gone. I haven't noticed their "D" being that bad, but I don't pay attention.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

@lee Regarding Joe Barry, it's anecdotal. The Packers' defense let a few teams back in to games this season (Giants, Panthers, Bucs). I don't think it's that bad, the team is young Packers fans have been calling for the head of DCs Dom Capers and Mike Pettine before. I think the hire was sour in the first place since Joe Barry was the DC for the 0-16 2008 Lions team.
Speaking of defeated, The Browns were winless the season before Mayfield arrived. He took them to the playoffs in 2020 and a playoff win against the Steelers (their first since 1994). That alone made him a hero in Cleveland.
Injuries derailed his 2021 season and the Browns didn't want to pay him in 2022 after his 4-year rookie contract was up. Instead the Browns traded for a guy (Watson) who sat out a year and was accused of assaulting masseuses, and even gave him a massive contract. With Watson, The Browns went 7-10, last in the AFC North.
So, if the Browns were going to pay a guy, I don't know why they chose to throw record money at Watson over Mayfield.

I forgot about the Barry in Detroit thing. Maybe that was subliminal for me due to the pain.
I guess we can disagree about Mayfield. I simply don't think he is very good. He got the Tampa job because they needed someone as they had nothing else. He wasn't exactly a hot commodity. But a "hero" in Cleveland? I dunno about that.
As for the whole Watson mess, where do you start? I can't believe they gave him what they did. I wouldn't have touched that but they did. For their sake, I hope they have some kind of an outclause on that contract.

@lee I'm not saying Mayfield is a Hall of Famer, but he was pretty solid his first few seasons. After taking the Browns to the playoffs and beating archrival Pittsburgh might as well qualify for sainthood for the only NFL fan base more depressed than Lions fans. The Browns did him no favors by trading him to the Panthers who were awful.
I think if you do some digging you'll find he was popular with Browns fans who still miss him under center. Especially since the Buccaneers are still playing and the Browns got smoked.

To make matters worse, beloved former quarterback Baker Mayfield looked phenomenal in leading the Tampa Bay Bucs to a dominating 32-9 victory over the defending NFC champ Philadelphia Eagles.
...
The former No. 1 pick threw for over 4,000 yards this year, and he has given Bucs fans new hope after the retirement of Tom Brady. His gaudy stat line of 337 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions against the Eagles could have been even better if not for some key drops by his receivers.

Okay, he did have a good year. Quite good actually. As I said, I just don't like the guy and don't think he's particularly that good. Now: If they go into Detroit and get a win to get to the NFC Championship, then you might be on to something. Especially if he plays well. Given the Detroit secondary, there is that possibility. But unless Goff makes some blunders I don't see Detroit losing.

How many QB's have Da Bears had since 1992?

I think Bears fans are suddenly scared that ANOTHER Packers QB will torment them. You know, "I OWN you!"

If Love is indeed the next franchise QB for the Pack for the next 15 years it would be amazing for a team to have only starting 3 QBs, starting with Farve in 1993, for a 45 year stretch.
The signs are promising but I think we need to see him perform at this high level for several years before we can pass the baton.
