we have bad games unexpectedly
…tonite for instance - lowly Det - 1st of 2 w/them b4 the break - should be a W right?
no - defensively we’ve been a sieve
they’re in tonite
apparently everyone but Jayl will play (previews/injury reports constantly change) -
it doesn’t change anything
the unpredictability of the lineup constantly in flux, is why we sometimes have bad games - even at home w/teams like Det & Orlando
just when I talked up Mfiondu - out, personal reasons - (discouraged?) - the ‘illness’ that sidelined Jays last nite is no more - stretch run begins in March

🇺🇸🎼🏀would rather be on hoop thread, the champions & 2 of the top 3, goingiannis will be back early March - same Steph
James Wiseman is in Det’s rotation & played well against us the other night
yep Derrick White & Malcolm Brogdon are big time players for us - same Grant, Pritchard, Hauser & everyone
a sprained wrist is a tricky injury -
but once it’s fully healed
….Mil makes me nervous - same Phila, Sixiz can go off at any time
we’ve been amazing this year - break comes at a good time for the boys to rest/heal up

Next stop for Russell Westbrook, LAC - watta team w/Kawhi, Paul George etc - however, thought that when he joined LAL too -
still - bettin LAC white-men-can’t-jump C, Mason Plumlee, 7-0, 32, will thrive in the same schemes Steven Adams did in OKC w/Westbrook - he’s an underrated C imo
Suns, Mavs, Nuggets, GSW…..still think LAL will make a run
regardless, it’s all green - it’s not just Phil & Mil, even the Knicks are going - Kevin Love will help Heat same as Blake Griffin has helped us this year & Miami has also added veteran C Cody Zeller

Posted by: @stephenPosted by: @stephenif Crowder regains his old form they could then start Sandro - he could be their Semi Olejeye type of player while Crowder & Lopez keyed reserve unit
what happened to Semi, he was great for us -
now they’re saying ligament damage -
bad news for Bucks - who just signed rusty veteran C Meyers Leonard (7-0, 30) to a 10 day contract, & guessing they’ll agree the fastest way to burn rust off is, ‘we need ya, let’s hit it full-tilt, you’ll have plenty of relief’ etc - he & Lopez, also Mamukelashvili, others should be able to cover for GA
it’ll be season debuts both for Leonard & Jae Crowder - Leonard didn’t play last year either, but a good chance they’ll sign him to another 10 day, then the rest of season…..my crystal ball never lies😮👁️😁
Bucks are W12, 0.5 GB - we knew they’d be that good - a few teams could have us beat in depth - they’re one of em
This post was modified 3 years ago 7 times by Stephen

It’s Myles Turner, Meyers Leonard & Mason Plumlee - had them mixed up
there’s no mixing up Jays/Jayl - we still gotta play D tho - Indy is darn good, Turner had his way w/Al H & RW
Dwight Powell, & Christian Wood….as good as Luka/Kyrie were, they’re just as key, they also have vets JaVale McGee & Markieff Morris on the pine & Dallas could go places
same Jazz - laurii M, Will Kessler - & yes Kelly Olynyk - sleepers under former Celts, coach Will Hardy & Danny Ainge upstairs -
There are a lot of good teams - fun stretch run upcoming
C’s fans want to beat out Phila, also Mila, for 1st overall, That’s The Biggie & Where It’s At For Celts Fans - we need some D fellas, that’s what’ll get it done -
Embiid-Harden - Joel 27/18/6 assists, 6 blocks - that was top game last night & there were a lot of em - Sixiz are & will be bad news
LeBron-AD - great scoresheet balance in LAL’s win last night - former Jazz J. Vanderbilt could definitely find a home in LA
Curry will return just in time to fuel Warriyz - one sees his absence in these close games -
same Wiggins - it’s turning into quite a stretch of time to be out for “personal reasons” - fortunate that most it came during the break
but GSW will go when they return - they’re built for playoffs, that’s not news to anyone
some old veterans, like U Haslem, Taj Gibson, DeAndre Jordan, Andre Iguodala, Derrick Rose etc are still around

Posted by: @stephenit’s not just Phil & Mil, even the Knicks are going -
they honored their 1973 team by emulating them last nite - now they’re looking to go W6 at our expense tmrw nite -
they’re knickerfockers - they’re going w/Robinson at C, Sims had been starting -Isaiah Hartenstein is an effective backup - a lot like how Jock Landale is for Ayton in Phx, which also has veteran C/F Bismarck Biyombo - trying to see who has who at C going into stretch run
Bucks beat full-strength Phx today w/no Giannis, it’s wott I mean about their depth
MSG is a tough place to play - Knicks definitely look legit - let’s go C’s

Lakers yesterday come from 27 down to win in Dallas. All I can say is that when Anthony Davis is healthy he is an absolute BEAST, just one of greatest centers and also one of greatest physical specimens EVER. LeBron, LeBron, LeBron yes.........but Lakers' success hinges on Davis' health.......one guy cannot do it and never could............

Posted by: @stephenLeBron & AD not playing tonite, & there lies the problem for LA - how they do depends almost totally on them -
AD was immense last night alright, the C position can’t be played any better - LA never stopped playing, unreal comeback
just gotta give the game ball to LeB tho - most players woulda come out after that ankle/foot ding
he did not, & it fueled/propelled/completed the comeback -
This Would Not Have Happened Had He Not Been Out There -
he knew that & along w/Davis willed them all the way back
James has my respect as one of the toughest hard-nosed greats of them all
RIGHT NOW, we gotta keep surging NY outta the conversation - always a zoo, & when we’re thru it’s loud w/boos at MSG
but yes the quote holds true, esPEcially now - he might miss some games w/that foot, but watta tandem - it should be appreciated, they’re only a misstep from being sidelined again & as mentioned, they Both Gotta be there the rest of the way for LA to make a run
Vanderbilt was mentioned last fall for Jazz - he could become a big key for Lakers
monitoring the other LA team’s Westbrook experiment - on paper, it’s a title, many are saying
no Zion Williamson & Karl Anthony Towns this season have been Huge downers for NO & MN

@stephen: Watched Celtics @ Knicks last night, Knicks have WITHOUT any doubt become a force to be reckoned with, Thibodeux has them playing LOCK DOWN defense. Tatum got so frustrated that he got tossed with about 6 minutes left after his second T. Yes I know Jalen Brown did not play but that does not lessen the Knicks' peformance. Looking forward to tomorrow night, Brooklyn @ The Knicks. IMO Nets will be MUCH improved after all the players they got in the Durant trade and ridding themselves of the Kyrie Cancer. I have NBA League Pass so I get every single NBA game. It's expensive but what else is a Warriors fan in Texas supposed to do??

🤙I hear that, shoot I’d be nowhere else but the couch if I had the league pass - it’s like, better not, haha -
yep NYK looks for real - based on last night, envision few problems them going W7 tmrw nite - Mil has passed us - it’s be no good to end the season in 2nd place
those doggone ‘personal reasons’ (Jayl’s absence) - am I off the mark flogging this dead horse - to me these are critical absences that shouldn’t happen & are costly
We’ll be OK, we’ve be consistent all year, if the role guys step up & there’s no major starter injuries……there’s the evidence, no gotA, LAL likely toast

@stephen: Warriors are dealing with the same "personal" absence, for them it's Andrew Wiggins. None of us know what's going on but unless I do (doubtful the public will EVER know) I choose to remain non-judgemental. It better be serious is all I can say but I assume that it is in both cases.

Love this. Skip is such a miserable c*nt and Giannis is such an unbelievably decent guy. His inability to even pretend to talk smack written for him as a joke was kind of adorable.

🤙same here, by & large - mine is not to judge - but when it’s key guys in key games….…..
it’s going on 3 weeks now for Wiggins - he’s obviously dealing with deep adversity but the Warriors are playing well w/out he & Curry - they’re looking for a W5 tonite, & when those guys return……
conversely we had everyone but Malcolm tonite & STB - again, our guys can come up w/bad games unpredictably - was nowhere near as close as the final score
20 games left & our playoffs are underway - gotta have that top seed - & the stinkers like tonite, outtaour system for good

“Why Luck Seems Destined To Play A Uniquely Large Part In NBA’s Wide Open Title Chase”
agree w/this CBS Sports headline
so many good teams - heck w/full rosters it could be a Kings-Pacers or Suns-Sixers final as easily as Celts-GSW, Bucks-Denver etc
so what, Mil is pulling away & we gotta reclaim that top spot, waddaya say Celts

Jaylen Brown deserves a lot of credit for mentioning, in answer to a question, a racist element at home games
He wasn’t angry
Nor wrong either
it’s always been there - in a city of higher learning like Harvard, MIT etc & all the great teams, that racism festers at C’s home games is sad
it’s not a dominant thing, Jayl emphasized - he called it “problematic” - worst after losses, when dumbasses yell their brainless **** & darn it, why doesn’t security take care of these clowns
all Celtics fans got Jayl’s back

Posted by: @stephenOrlando is very good - see them going big 2nd half - can’t forget how they looked not once but twice in Boston recently -
:green: wattateam
didn’t go that way obviously, they’re an early ouster - GREAT LA-Dallas game, 3 ptr right at the buzzer, Real nice find by Kyrie for the assist, & time is running out for Lakiz - they’ve held their own pretty well w/out LeBron
Indy is the team that makes me nervous in the east - thought that about Orlando too tho
it’s between us Phila & Mila for 1st overall -
in short, Green-up Day is next month But It’s Gotta Start NOW For Celts right thru til then
we held 1st place for too long this season to let it slip away now

Magic, the team I thought would be good, slumped - but was on top of it at LA - that was the team we saw - no Kawhi (rest) was a factor
meanwhile, Paciz, who I also saw/see the same - crushed in Indy by a Phila team minus James Harden
so ya just don’t know - this is playoff time right now for many teams - Orlando & Portland won’t qualify
Am very glad to see Markelle Fultz flourishing in Orlando - after all those injuries, he’s played well
AFTER TONIGHT, Jazz have to hit streak to extend its season
stay ahead of Phil, catch up to Mil - it’s cru-shil
they (Phil) could be the most lethal of the three, Pacers were nowhere to be found today, 6Z were that good
so is Jazz - Big Al, Marcus sidelined - RW III back next week - let’s go boys

Posted by: @stephenwould still like to see Mfiondu Kabengele get those minutes instead, he’s put in the work
feel the same way about Sandro Mamukelashvili
old friend/C’s draft pick Romeo Langford has played his way into Spurs rotation but unfortunately is out of tonite’s game**
Sandro has also landed in SA & is also in their rotation, & imo we have to get Mfiondu Kabengele minutes b4 the playoffs - C’s fans will see tonight a competitive hard-working defensive-minded player in Mamukelashvili, & will demand that our guy, Kabengele, get a chance to show that too
but shoot - kinda sad to see Popovich taking it on the chin this late in his career, but also awesome to see these players getting regular minutes now
but Gregg - like Pres. Biden he needs to take a long hard look at the rocking chair & chill w/Nellie passing it back & forth (stories😉) as the 2 winningest coaches ever - he’s becoming a Connie Mack b4 his time etc
so starting right now then, this one’s ours boys, Let’s Go
-
look at em go, they’ve hit stride down the stretch (7 of 9), & b4 you can say Tom Boerwinkle, Da Bulls are seizing the postseason
** - that was the word as of 40 min b4 game time on their team page - but lo & behold he’s playing😵💫🏀

We can catch them - if we really prioritize this game, play it like a 7th game & show em we still wanna finish first, a win’d leave us 2 out w/5 to play, not impossible -
we gotta show em we can beat ‘em there - to have a good “mindset” for later
Denver is only 0.5 behind, Phila only 2 GB, we see Sixiz Tues, it’ll be as Critically important as tonight (they all are now)
we can’t be blasé about stuff or slip any more in the standings - it’s the top 2 teams tonite & Our Playoffs Are Now
**later edit, good win for the boys tonite but something of a smokescreen too - Mil simply laid an egg & we were sharp - Jays 40 points end of three, MVP MVP

Celtics 140 Bucks 99..........and the game was in Milwaukee! If Boston didn't just send them a message before playoff time.........

no Zion Williamson & Karl Anthony Towns this season have been Huge downers for NO & MN
same thing now w/Julius Randle, Naz Reid & Paul George - injured at the worst possible time - Big hits on all those teams, but good to see that Giannis bounced back quickly, sprained wrist ligaments are/can be bad news
same Jazz - too many key players injured down the stretch, Laurii M, Clarkson, Collin Sexton, others
tough break for MN, Reid was playing well for them, they were starting to jel w/KAT back - Wolves will have to turn to Luka now - 7 footer Luka
1.5 out, 4 to go - again that huge point differential the other night is misleading & should be mostly discounted
- but make no mistake, our biggest win of the season - but who coulda guessed a blowout, amazing
Beating Phila Tuesday Could Mean 1st Place, or a share of it - Bucks Must Cooperate
🤙fine season, fun stretch run🏀 -
🏒 - we did it!!! surpassed/rewrote team points record today w/another Solid end to end showing against a Darn Good veteran Pitts team, giving us 123 points & breaking a record set 52 years ago in A Time That Was familiar to ABB fans - 1970-71 team
This post was modified 2 years ago 2 times by Stephen

Just more of the same, AD & Lakers’ll take it if MN doesn’t want it - which Wolves don’t by benching Gobert
- this is where Naz Reid’s absence kills Wolves, & now Jaden McDaniels broken hand….blowout all but certain - field day in store for Anthony Davis
he & LeBron have real complementary teammates -
had thought GS-LAL conf final, but Denv & Phx must also be strongly considered -
wattabout NO if erstwhile Zion reappears…..
no, he’d be too rusty & would be restricted to p/t - great as he is, Zion has missed A LOT of time….whole seasons

Could’ve understood if Kawhi as well as Wiggins, had taken a leave of absence to be there for his sister, sentenced to life w/out parole, convicted of a heinous 2019 crime
team felt his absence (& George’s) in its home games - Suns big rebounding edge today
on the court & on the sheet, we gotta come back to Boston w/3-1 leads - it’s paramount - we can’t afford to play w/fire - not w/Bergeron & Krejci outta the lineup
Atl is very good - we have our way of playing, so that the scoring falls on Jays/Jayl, & Brogdon off the bench - they gotta be hot - Jays likes to hoist those 3s - wattateam
Malcolm joins Frank Ramsey, John Havlicek, Kevin McHale, Bill Walton, James Posey, mayb others, as 6th Man of the Year - way to go Malcolm!🏀 - let’s go Celts

Huge win last night in Sacramento by the Warriors, the team that basically could not BUY a road win during the regular season. But as anyone knows, the playoffs are an entirely different season and the Warriors are still the Champs until proven otherwise. Andrew Wiggins was just off the charts last night, and I mean at both ends of the floor, he made some huge defensive plays. He means SO much to the team and he's their most athletic player (that's coming from Steve Kerr). Wiggins hasn't shown any effects from the two month layoff for personal reasons.
Good luck tonight Stephen, you don't want to go back to the Garden for a game 7. Hawks have really surprised me, I thought they would be very lucky to take one game in this series. But I think that's what EVERYONE thought, including Janet Jackson who had a concert scheduled tonight in the same arena! Trae Young is proving a few things to the world..........

Dillon Brooks sure didn't have much to say last night after the game. After calling LeBron "old", the old man's team blew out the Grizzlies by 40 points last night and knocked them out of the playoffs. I'm happy. Brooks IMO is the dirtiest player in the NBA and showed how low class he is by having the gall to taunt LeBron right on the court during that series.
Warriors - Kings all comes down to game 7 tomorrow in Sacramento. Great showing by the Kings last night after Warriors took three straight in this series to go up 3-2. Should be a great one tomorrow.

Posted by: @stephenstay ahead of Phil, catch up to Mil - it’s cru-shil
they (Phil) could be the most lethal of the three, Pacers were nowhere to be found today, 6Z were that good
Really hoping GSW will have greater game tmrw Rob - your game is at 3:30, ours 6:30
had really thought neither would be necessary - but Sac did indeed play 48 minutes of consistent clean hoop, a great showing
our game 6 was just an aberration, we haven’t been in a game w/12 total goals all year*
like you, every confidence of winning 7th game tmrw - people forget Fla Smoked Season-long last year (122 points)
Green coming off the bench looks like a good call, wonder if Kerr’ll stick w/it (good call on NYK earlier this season btw)
i mean who doesn’t wanna see those great veteran LA-GSW teams meet - LeBron for LA, Curry for Warriyz
-
the quote says it
w/1 exception - Embiid, bad knee - Joel has had plenty of mending time tho - it’s the age-old ?, did the break cool them off or heal them up
it never changes w/them - we own a 62-47 playoff record over them, but surprisingly, only 5 Celtics-Sixiz series this century
finally…shoot - everyone has 6 on their uniform, yes
xcpt one - LeBron James
seeing Bill’s number worn for the last time by a player in (I think) equally rarefied air - this I think is just the bomb - at 38 still one of the top players
guessing the vast playoff experience of these 2 great teams, Broonz & Warriyz, will factor in tmrw🏒🏀
*haven’t looked that up

Posted by: @stephenit’s the age-old ?,
will we be remembid as that record-busting regular-season puck juggahnaut
or merely as the squad that squatted when it counted
fla themselves asked that same ? last year
answer?, refer to a song we all know - nobody knows

Warriors 127 Lakers 100. The Splash Brothers served notice last night that they are not done yet!! Curry was just brilliant..........he realized Klay was hot so he took a back seat......Curry's line: 20 points and a HUGE 12 assists. Meanwhile Klay dropped EIGHT 3 pointers on the way to 30 points. JaMychal Green (WHO you say??) was brilliant thrust into a starting role with Kevon Looney under the weather. I predict Kerr will start J. Green again Saturday night because although Green is a power forward his three point stroke spreads the floor and helps to negate Anthony Davis. J. Green had 15 points including 3-6 from beyond the arc. This guy may be an unknown but he has 53 games of playoff experience and obviously is not afraid of the limelight.

Ups to the boys, And The Coaches - great adjustment going to a 7 man rotation w/RW starting - we stuck w/it thru rough patches & a cold Jayson, & it panned out
hoping we stay w/this lineup for the 7th game - home court means nothing, we saw that on the sheet too - Phila has beaten us in previous game 7s in Boston
This Lineup Says “We’ll Win It W/D!!” - they commited to the defensive end of the floor tonite & it paid off
🏀Phila - I hate em😆 - they’re damn good - Harden was off tonite like Jays
Just don’t like 7th games w/Sixiz -
….we’ll advance, this lineup can do better than it showed tonite

Posted by: @stephenJust don’t like 7th games w/Sixiz -
….we’ll advance
140-116, 4-1, 1967
Phila
it lives in infamy - they bounced us hard outta the playoffs by that game score that year - the only team to beat a Russell team in the playoffs, 4-1 series final
in the blowout 5th game, WILT - 29 points 36 reb, 13 assists - that on top of an unofficial quadruple double in the first game - 24/32/13, and 12 blocks
15 years later, same thing, don’t recall game score, at the Gahdn, tied 3-3 just like today -
….& an entire 4th qtr of garbage time for Sixiz, game 7, 1982 playoffs - never to this day did we stink out postseason worse
….🥱so today
we remember that
all we want is that shot at Miami - they are the team to beat
bummed for Rob to see GSW dethroned
keep that same 7 man rotation - YABaby Let’s Go Celts, everything’s crazy, now we thrive into next round
