I predict that Old Joe (citing any reason he can) will step aside and Kamala Harris will become the Democratic presumptive nominee.
The convention begins in less than a week.
Biden spoke of being a one-term President soon after he declared...as for the "citing any reason he can" thesis, sounds more like a TrumptyDumpty move to avoid the terminal embarrassment of a landslide loss: gets to play the martyr role to the hilt, blame everybody around him and even shit on his supporters on the way to MarALago to do two shows nightly instead of his pseudo-Nazi rallies.

The Walter Mondale/Geraldine Ferraro ticket was labeled by pundits as "Fritz and Tits". With Biden's propensity to ramble, maybe this ticket could be called "Forgitz and Tits"? 😉
Just some election year humor!

No one, including a Democrat, would have acted differently in dealing w/the covid crisis
I would guess a Democrat would have acted differently, starting with more legislation and taxes.
We have a good example of what a Democrat might have done differently. The Democrat I’m referring to is Andrew Cuomo..
Should he be investigated for the conditions that led to at least 6,400 COVID-linked deaths in retirement facilities, including what role a March 25 mandate from Cuomo’s Department of Health barring homes from turning away coronavirus-positive patients may have played?
He thinks not.
There's a home for you on FoxNews V....get on that and get off here would ya!?!?!
And if you call CNN home, the difference?
I don't and there are...just as there's a difference between a jerk and a knee-jerk...

He may think that but I absolutely believe officials should investigate what decisions were made by Cuomo and his administration that may have caused unneeded deaths. In fact I believe experts should investigate many facets of the State’s response to this pandemic so as to avoid such mistakes in the future.
I’m a firm believer in data driven management, scientific inquiry, constant improvement, etc...If it turns out Cuomo make a drastic mistake unsupported by such things then he should face the consequences.

No move from Trump needed.

Here's your pick for VP calling 18-24 year olds "stupid"...This will encourage them to Vote!

Here's your pick for VP calling 18-24 year olds "stupid"...This will encourage them to Vote!
18-24 year-olds are smart enough to look beyond an out of context sound bite. She was actually being sympathetic and tongue-in-cheek, here's the whole quote:
we designed this program around the 18 through 24 [age range] mostly but it was usually up to 30 [years old]. First time, low-level drug sales offender… And here’s what we did. We recognized the fact that 18 through 24 — when I was at Howard University and we were in college, we were 18 through 24, and you know what we were called? College kids. But when you turn 18 and you’re in the system, you are considered an adult, period. Without any regard to the fact that, that is the very phase of life in which we have invested billions of dollars in colleges and universities knowing that, that is the prime phase of life during which we mold and shape and direct someone to become a productive adult. What’s the other thing we know about this population? And it’s a specific phase of life, remember, age is more than a chronological fact. What else do we know about this population of 18 through 24? They are stupid. [Crowd laughs.] That is why we put them in dormitories, and they have a resident assistant. They make really bad decisions. So we focused on that age population.
So yeah, not an insult. Any young voters who take issue with a candidate prone to insults knows where to look.

"Context"?...I wonder if even for a brief moment she thought there was the slightest of possibilities that this quote might be taken out of context and used against her in a sound bite directed at the voting populace, who actually is "Stupid".... There is no way this works in her favor either at a debate or on television.
Pure genuis.

You'd have to be really stupid to take this out of context without questioning the obviously intended meaning, or to perpetuate it by sharing it.
But if you think insulting sound bites will be an issue, then Trump is in trouble.

Yes porkchopbob. Trump just tweeted " The Socialist convention starts tonight"
Harris seemed to be very supportive of the Green New Deal, a 16 trillion dollar plan to address climate change, income inequality and shifting parts of the US economy, for the first time, over to socialism. Specifically healthcare, pharmaceuticals, energy and perhaps banking. As envisioned by Senator Sanders and AOC who ARE admitted socialist and critics of capitalism, electricity generation would be shifted to all solar and wind and transportation would be shifted to electric cars, trucks, busses and trains and electric high speed rail would discourage air travel. Oli, gas and coal companies would be run out of business and Exxon Mobil executives could go to jail. Fracking would be banned along with exporting fossil fuels or importing fossil fuels by 2030. Harris seemed to supports this and decriminalizing illegal border crossings, eliminating the wall and ice and undocumented people would receive free health care under the new single payer system and taxes would be dramatically raised, a wealth tax implemented that over time would eliminate anyone being a billionaire in the US and on and on.
Under Biden, fracking would not be banned, taxes would be raised but only modestly, tight regulations would return on such things as oil drilling and fracking, electric vehicles would be required by 2035 but not heavy trucks, trains and ships. Only 2 trillion would be spent on the green new deal instead of 16 trillion and nuclear power would stay in the mix and carbon capture would be allowed allowing fossil fuels to be uses providing C02 is sequestered and put in the grown. Net zero would be moved from 2030 to 2050.
If Biden is elected but didn't finish his first term, would this more moderate approach be continued under Harris or would she go hard left? Trying to decide if I vote for Biden with Harris on the ticket or for Trump world.
Check out this twin guitar playing between Derek Trucks and slow hand. They knock it out of the park I think.

Yep, EVERYTHING in politics is ALWAYS used or taken in context. lol
But if you think insulting sound bites will be an issue, then Trump is in trouble.
That did not take long. Make any sort of comment, observation or criticism about the Democrats and invariably the response is..."Well, Trump"

16 trillion dollar plan
And does this money just magically appear?..Or can I expect to be taxed for this?

Yep, EVERYTHING in politics is ALWAYS used or taken in context.
If you feel foolish for not knowing the actual context, make a habit of fact-checking before you post next time.

Not at all, I pointed out the fault with your complete lack of context, which you either perpetuated purposefully or ignorantly. So if you're going to open the door to the topic of insults from the candidates, you'd have to be a massive hypocrite to perpetuate a comment that isn't an insult at all from Harris, when Trump has hurled personal insults on a daily basis for years. If you can't defend a comparison, then maybe don't bring the subject up. Comparing the candidates is kind of the point.

They can use the money saved by the destruction of the Postal Service.

Comparing the candidates is kind of the point.
As in Harris & Pence?

Yes, either ticket.

Sorry dude, but you vote for the ticket. All 4 candidates are fair game for scrutiny, no matter how much you'd like to ignore Trump's habitual insults.

So Harris will never held responsible for what she says?...It will always revert back to old Joe?
The public is pretty ignorant and Kamala's comment will show up in plenty of ads... I doubt Joe Voter will have the presence of mind to fact check for content.

Obviously what any of the candidates says reflects back on the ticket.

I'm sure Joe Voter holds 18 year-olds in such high regards that he'd protest the statement.

Posted this on the "old" site this morning and i guess it didn't transfer over. If you see it again, it may have come over.
my question is: Did the DNC do a vetting process on Harris? Did they know she is a descendant of one of the most reviled slave owners in Jamaica? He was also a member of the local version of the KKK?
How will the Black Lives Matter group compare this with their hatred of past historical figures and their ownership of slaves?

It's unproven: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/kamala-harris-ancestor-slaves/
Also, why would she be responsible for one ancestor who died nearly 200 years ago? Why would that override her other descendants and life experiences? If you go back far enough, every politician likely has such an ancestor.
Seems pretty irrelevant. Maybe they should focus on Harris and actual issues.

The same reasons some in the Black community continually cite slavery as holding them back today and the need for repirations. For the same reasons the Democratic Party quotes for not wanting to be held responsible for being the party of Slavery & the Party that started the KKK....But hey, it was 200 years ago, right?

Unproven, according to Snopes, but not proven false. Her father wrote about it, listing her ancestors. Claims his grandmother was a descendant of Hamilton Brown, the founder of Brown's Town and a plantation owner with at one time 159 slaves.
For your second line: She shouldn't, nor should anyone else who have ancestors that owned slaves. But, look at all the folks wanting reparations for what happened almost 200 years ago, and hold today's non-black population responsible for those actions.
It does seem pretty irrelevant, but if today's whites are going to be held accountable for what happened long ago, then Harris should get the same treatment. If not, then any argument against what our ancestors might have done is pretty much watered down rhetoric.

@jerry those very few asking for reparations are not asking it from all white people, they're asking the government. Don't take it personally, or apply it to another single person in response. It's a faulty comparison.

And who is the Government?...And where does the Government get its money?

Not just from white people. Anytime someone sues the city or the state for sexual harassment or slipping on the sidewalk of City Hall, do you feel responsible? Probably not. So if you are feeling targeted when a small number of folks bring up reparations, that says more about you. Because it's not about you. Just as a Jamaican slave owner from 200 years ago doesn't really have any bearing on Kamala Harris and how she has lived her life.

This is all fine and a polite way of saying you actually believe reparations are legitimate.
I do not.

That is all fine and polite way of saying you support slavery.
See what I did there?
I'm not sure how you got that leap in logic because no where did I say I supported reparations. I don't either, I was just explaining that those who do aren't targeting you. I'm not sure if you presume and leap to conclusions on purpose or if you choose to not understand to further your own opinion, but it's really not cool and wastes everyone's time. Try to stick to what people write and these chats will be a lot more interesting and civil.

Where does the government get it's money? From taxes.
Who are the lawsuits at present name:
