Gibson Mesa Boogie amps
@robertdee, yes, Robin looks more like someone’s grampa now rather than the blues rock guitar master that he is. He’s canceled his last 2 scheduled tours, so my last time seeing him was 2019. His skills have not diminished one bit. I believe he is only 1 year younger than my dad, who is only a few days older than Dickey. Always great to hear people 3/4 of a century old (or more) still killing it on their instrument.
Saw Trower a few years ago and agree the man still has his chops that belies his age. His playing is very fluid with no compromise.
Regarding Duane Allman Hot Lanta reissues.
There is a really nice custom shop LP with a special order Duane tobacco burst top. Isn't aged and reliced but they did a nice job with the top at a much more affordable price than a Murphy aged DA reissue that has all the scraps and nicks.
Compared to the real deal not a bad replica top

Yes Trower apparently still has his skills at older age. Some can't play as well as they get old. Well some burn out before they get old and pass on. That rock life is an early grave or too burned out to play for many.
Thanks for the link. My favorite guitar is a LP but a good sounding SG is fine and a Strat set up where it has a fat sound is real nice too. A good Strat on some drity blues gets me jumping around too.
Duane Allman left some legacy for leaving this earth at 24. Kinda like Robert Johnson.
@robertdee we all age at different rates and some like Trower are able to keep their chops even at advanced age while others suffer health issues, like arthritis, which erodes their skills.
I was honored to see John McLaughlin with Jimmy Herring several years ago playing Mahavishnu Orchestra music and JM could still play those old riffs flawlessly.
I am also a Les Paul fan, and own one, but would love to get an LP jr., ES335 but also a Fender Strat and Tele someday.
Nobody got the sounds out of his Les Paul like Duane did.

Nice read, thanks for the post!
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,
James Dewar ,always loved his vocals , and proved it in the Trower video above.
Robins newer material over the last decade has been very good. I have enjoyed it.
Here is RT with Jack Bruce
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,
Duane Betts in Osprey, Florida. Apparently at Dickey's house.
Someone bought some Marshall amps.
Love the Trower posts!! Yep! He still brings it.
I saw him twice (last time was 10+ years ago) and he had two Marshall half stack cabs with their own separate heads. Thankfully, I brought earplugs because it was LOUD. Robing Rocked it on both occasions. He truly loves and appreciates playing yet he knows it's not the 70s anymore. I hope we all can be as clairvoyant as we move on. Thank you Mr. Trower!
Some video of Trower using a 50 watt half stack (Vintage Modern, I’m assuming), flanked by two 30 watt Bluesbreaker twins.
