Well I broke down and after 5 days of 90 degree temperatures I turned on the A/C. I wouldn't have done it at all but THB is on her way home from Atlanta and if she walked into it had I not done it you might never have heard from me again.
I hate the electric bill. 😮Â

I live in a high rise and one of the passenger elevators is out. There are probably three or four hundred people that live here. It is a total nightmare to get to the street. They need a part to fix it that won't arrive for three weeks. If I didn't live I on the ninth floor I would just take the stairs. Even the delivery people just leave everything in the lobby.

If I was on the golfball course in 90 degree temps I would feel the same way. We do get the Lake Michigan Breeze.

A few years ago this "genius" working at the front desk in our building turned off the elevator to the roof. I was on the roof when he did it so I had two options: take the stairs or the fire escape. The stairs seemed like the safer option so that's wott I did. I walked down 13 flights of stairs. The building was built in 1920ish and it still has a lot of the old charm. We actually have glass doorknobs. Anyway, the steps go down a spiral staircase which is very narrow. When you've had a few $5 ginger ales on the roof it is tough sledding.

I had to go downtown this morning at about 8:00 AM and I was pleasantly surprised to see how many people were in The Loop. The bus was SRO. It's like COVID doesn't exist.
