I didn't know Bill myself. Well, I sort of did indirectly through his articles in early issues of Hittin The Note. But I do know that he was crucial in the beginnings of Hittin The Note and I do know he was a really good guy that a lot of people loved and he should be remembered fondly. He did a lot for Allman Brothers Band fans in the days before, leading up to and during the Internet era. I just felt he deserves a memorial on this site and there wasn't one. Rest In Peace, Bill, and thanks.

Amen and thank you!  As with Buppalo1 (Randy), TanDan, Clay P (forgot user ID), Karen B (also forgot screen name) - some the finest folks I ever knew.  I miss them all daily.  Bill was probably the most people-est people person I ever met!  Never seemed to meet a stranger and could make the most insignificant person in the world feel like they really mattered.  He probably could've been a CEO or a televangelist - but he was happiest promoting peace, love and music via the Allman Brother's Band.  I miss him ... everybody who ever met him ONCE misses him!

I did a mini favor for Bill one time. He never forgot that act of kindness and always put the biggest hugs on me whenever we could be in the same place at the same time
