It should be decided by the courts? She should've resigned rather than take the stance she did.

The President's orders must be defended in court do they not? I mean everyone in this country gets a defense in court, no matter how unpopular that defense may be, or what the odds are of winning any given trial, a defense is still guaranteed.

I don't know how this translates to defending a Presidential order, but I would think that the Justice Department would be obligated to defend a President's orders and actions. If those actions or orders are found unconstitutional as they would or would not in the case here, then that is the final say (assuming it went to Supreme Court).

But as I see it, that is what must happen. The lawsuits must be defended and the court must then decide the merit of the case(s). The acting attorney general was insubordinate then.

One thing remains clear, the administration might know what they want to do, but they have little idea on how to actually do it. And the President doesn't have his "team" confirmed to execute. That and many positions remain seriously vacant, be that because the administration was slow to name appointees, or still yet has failed to name appointees (under secretaries and the such) or that Congress has slow rolled some of it.

Think about how slow things work in the Senate, all these confirmations need done, plus normal conducting of Senate business, plus a Supreme Court nominee being named tonight. Alot on the plate.

No. The duty of the Attorney General is to advise the executive branch on whether their actions are legal or constitutional. They are not a rubber stamp for the president or his personal attorney. It was her job to decide on that. She did. Checks and balances are one of the things that made this country great. That is gone.

By White House counsel, sure. By the DOJ, no, up to the AG. Independent judiciary is obligated to the law, not the President. DOJs have made refusals before.

Trump had every right to fire her, of course.

Departments of the government refusing to abide by Federal court orders is the true red flag in this mess.

Oh, and as of right now, there's no one in Washington that can sign a FISA warrant, so there's that.

Trump is a force to be reckoned with, but I also like what Arnold is doing at the helm on Celebrity Apprentice!

My favorite part of this is Sessions asked Yates if she'd say no to Obama. Will he say no to Trump?

Trump is in over his head. He has shown he has no clue about international relations or the effect any of his executive orders will have in the long run. The one thing he may accomplish is a takeover of Congress by the Democrats in 2018.

I think he was set up. They allowed him to get into office, and then when a big crisis happens, they will just blame it on him. I read recently that 80 Senators were on board with the Democratic plans for this country, some are closet communists, some are in league with the Muslim Brotherhood. The biggest challenge for Trump is that some of the groups want total chaos, they want governments to fail, including ours, so they can usher in their New World Order, they are beholden to the global power elite, and their ultimate leader is Satan. He gives them money, women, power, prestige, all the pleasures of this world, in return they give him something he wants very much. They do not worry about the hereafter, they don't think there is one. They live for this world, God's people live for the next world where they reign in peace with him. That's the difference. People cannot comprehend this yet, but that is where this all leads.

You do not have a clue. That was obvious in the thread about Yates.
