"You are just intolerant and attacking me because I have a different opinion than you" - If I hear this idiotic claim from the right one more time.
I hope everyone keeps their eyes and ears open for this line. You'll be shocked at how often you hear it, and from how many different people. Hannity lives by the line, as did O'Reilly. The Fox News host who recently got into it with Bolton - he also used it. Trump used it thousands of times. The right has been using it since the Obama administration. It was sad and pathetic then, and it's sad and pathetic today. Kevin McCarthy just used this line in response to Biden's speech, where he criticized MAGA. McCarthy's response was "Why? Simply because they disagree...." My 2-year old daughter has smarter and more mature responses than that. But I digress. The worse part is that they ask their voters to believe the line, which only hurts them. How despicable.
It's poison that needs to be rooted out. We all heard BIGV and other MAGA folks make this silly childish claim almost every single day. Now Kevin McCarthy is emboldening it. It's all they have.
My question is - do these people realize it's their behavior and personalities that we hate, and not their opinions? They are so backwards nowadays that I'm not sure.
The thought of Donald Trump being elected again in 2024 after January 6th and the current Mar-A-Lago investigation seems almost beyond belief. But I said the same thing in 2016 and he got in. Really scary where this country has gone and not surprising at all that Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne are going back to England.
Trump's most evil trick was convincing his followers that they no longer have to deal with criticism or conflict in life - instead they say, "you are just attacking me for having a different opinion than you." Then it's back to being a complete steaming pile of garbage.
I get that said to me when I try to correct someone for spewing misinformation. Usually an anti-gunner. Try to show them the truth and they go all ballistic on you.
