The people involved should be prosecuted but they represent a tiny minority of the refugees. This is shocking because the west has already got their hair on end over Muslims. Go to a fraternity or check out the history of most catholic schools and you'll find plenty of sexual abuse and assaults. Most women and many men who travel internationally know that this kind of pawing and groping goes on everywhere and not just the Middle East. Go to Mexico City or Tokyo or anywhere in India and there are female only cars on most public subways or trains.
I have done plenty of overseas travel myself, never heard of this kind of organized spree before. This is a new thing. The assailants overwhelmed the police on the Cologne attacks. These are riots. It is like a sport. Read some of the reports out there, this isn't pawing and groping, it's full on sexual assault, and brutal battery too. Read one where a guy was with his girlfriend at a train station and these f*ckers swarmed them and there wasn't a damn thing he could do while they worked her over. You are right, there is bad all over, but don't downplay this new phenomenon.

We are using different sources as to the scale of what occurred. Right wingers in Germany and the US have been quick to exploit this opportunity and inflate the numbers. What I heard was that young Arabs attacked a large German celebration on New Years Eve. I would think with how ubiquitous cell phones are there would be a lot of specific footage. I have no doubt some nasty stuff happened and women were assaulted but to indict the entire Arab population on very flimsy evidence about the magnitude of what occurred seems to me to be premature. There are a lot of neo-Nazis at work in Germany constructing this menacing narrative.
my ex went to egypt once. they were warned of the behavior of men there. wearing skin baring clothing was bad. men were likely to hold your hand out of the blue. groping was possible. i think, and could be wrong, but is a result of the culture. and in the culture it is normal, the refugee's probably don't understand it is wrong. it is wrong but how do you teach new immigrants about new cultures? imagine if you moved somewhere new, your beliefs vs theirs, assimilation must be difficult. like i said....they are wrong with what they did.
While the left wing media tries to downplay and under-report the sexual assaults by Muslin Refugees in Europe, the fact remains that there were hundreds of assaults and rapes. The Cologne Police Chief was forced to resign for downplaying the incidents and their number.

A Muslim rape epidemic is sweeping across Europe in Norway, Sweden, England and Germany after they welcomed millions of Muslim refugees during the past few years.
The police chief of Cologne, Germany, was forced to resign amid growing public outrage over the sex attacks by 1,000 Muslim men on New Year's Eve.
Meanwhile, in Weil am Rhein, Germany, two teenage girls were brutally gang-raped by four Syrians as part of a series of coordinated sexual assaults by Muslims in 12 cities across Europe that night.
Cologne police chief Wolfgang Albers, 60, was forced into early retirement amid accusations police had failed to react quickly enough to protect the 170 women who were groped, robbed and/or raped on Dec. 31. Albers is clearly being scapegoated amid escalating tensions stemming from Germany's unprecedented Muslim migrant wave.
Henriette Reker, the pro-Muslim mayor of Cologne, suggested the police had deliberately withheld information about the sex assaults, but Albers said that is a lie, according to the AP. Internal reports showed police were overwhelmed by the mob of 1,000 Muslim men of "Arab or North African origin" who brutally attacked women during the New Year's Eve celebrations.
Authorities have identified 31 suspects, of which 18 are asylum seekers from the Middle East and North Africa. So far, 170 complaints have been filed, with victims alleging they were groped, robbed and/or raped.
One victim, 18-year-old Michelle, told German news channel NTV she and her friends were walking near the city cathedral when "suddenly 20 to 30 men surrounded us. And more and more came."
Michelle said the Arab men groped her legs, buttocks, and breasts and tried to reach under her clothes. Her phone was also stolen.
As news of the Cologne sex attacks spread across Germany, the public was enraged after learning the media had tried to cover up the news because of the ethnic backgrounds of the criminals. German TV station, ZDF, apologized for not reporting the sex attacks amid reports they had been ordered by German Chancellor Angela Merkel to censor or soften its coverage of crimes committed by Muslim refugees and immigrants.
Amazingly, Merkel is worried about the potential backlash against Muslim migrants after Germany welcomed 1.5 million refugees in 2015.
Merkel has been widely slammed for ignoring the poverty and homelessness of native German citizens while providing free housing, food, and job training to Muslim refugees.
Meanwhile, Europe is struggling with an unprecedented Muslim rape epidemic. Under sharia law, it's OK to rape any non-Muslim woman because they are "infidels." In fact, it's encouraged so they can be "converted" to Islam.
Rapes have skyrocketed in England, Sweden, Germany and Norway during the past few years after they took in millions of Muslim refugees and migrants from the Middle East and North Africa. Sweden, which once boasted extremely low instances of rape, is now considered the "rape capital of the West." Gang rapes in Sweden have escalated exponentially between 1995 and 2006, and the culprits in most cases were refugees or migrants from Muslim countries.
There has been a widespread European media blackout of this news because Swedes, Germans, Norwegians and Brits fear being labeled racist or Islamophobic. In the U.K., the press even refers to Muslim criminals as "Asian" instead of "Arab" or "Muslim" so as to not anger its large Muslim population.

There was an article in the NY Times re: Syrian refugees in Norway. Bitching and moaning that their housing wasn't close enough to the city and their welfare didn't pay enough.
And welfare and Medicaid are seldom mentioned in discussions re: immigrants in the US. In previous generations immigrants were taken care of by charities - not the US government
