Warriors' Klay Thompson Sets NBA Record w/ 37 points in Third Quarter

I'm REALLY glad for the invention of DVR. I record all Warriors games.
I was doing what is commonplace last night, out to hear some blues, The Gary Smith Band. Smith is my favorite harmonica player in the Bay area.
So I come home and get on the net and I see a blurb about the record last night vs. Sacramento. Of course I watched it this morning.
Klay Thompson was so hot in the third quarter that he actually took a pass while behind the left side of the three point line with his feet perpendicular to the basket, raised up while turning in mid-air, NOTHING but net. He was so hot that Steve Kerr took him out early in the 4th quarter so he didn't burn his right hand. Kerr in postgame interview: "Jarron Collins (Warriors assistant) turned to me and said 'We need to spread our offense out a little more".
37 points in one quarter is an NBA record. That's right: Wilt Chamberlain never did it. Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West, Oscar Robertson, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant. NOPE. None of them ever did it. Thompson was 13 of 13 in the quarter, 9 of 9 from the three point line. It was a close game at halftime, Warriors 56, Sacramento 51. The game was over after Thompson's flurry.
Sorry folks, but if there has been a better one-two guard combination in the history of the NBA than Steph Curry and Klay Thompson, please tell me who they were. There have been some great ones.............Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe...........Jerry West and Gail Goodrich.
Curry and Thompson are scary together. Bay area basketball fans have known this for at least a couple of years. I think it's starting to get around the NBA right now. It's still questionable if Thompson will be an All-Star (Curry is a starter). If last night doesn't seal the deal.............
One more Warriors note: We can thank Warriors management for this one. Previous meathead Warriors owners/GM's would have traded Thompson in the offseason to Minnesota for Kevin Love. The rumors were swirling for months, and Minnesota wanted even more than Thompson. Previous Warriors GM's would have done it. Thank Warriors GM Bob Myers, Owner Joe Lacob and a team of consultants including Jerry West, who was one of the main advocates of drafting Thompson at #11 out of Washington State (four years ago if I'm not mistaken). They knew what they had and instead wrapped up Thompson with a huge extension in the offseason. Oh, let me add: Thompson is probably the Warriors biggest defensive stopper. He held James Harden to 12 points only a week ago.

That was an unreal performance. Very fun.
I don't know though, Goodrich averaged 25.9 and West averaged 25.8 points that 71-72 season and that was of course without a 3 pointer which obviously both of them would have killed on. In any event though Curry and Thompson are extraordinary.

The future is very bright for the backcourt of GS, as long as they can keep them together or egos in check. I think we all know about NBA players.
I wonder if GS would still be playing at he same level they are now if Jackson was still the head coach. Do you think Kerr makes much of a difference? I dont get to see alot of they're games so I would not know except for the record
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,
