He'll go. He can't lose.
If he looks bad, he'll say, "See, it was that bi** Megan Kelley"
and if he does well, he'll say, "In spite of that bi**, I kicked butt"

he is the ultimate publicity machine.
The same country that deserves the Kardashians deserves Trump as Prez

Regardless, it will be fun watching "the media" trying to wrestle the Donald for the upper hand back.

They are already all puffed up about it, "how dare he challenge THE MEDIA"

"Donald Trump said late Tuesday he would not attend tomorrow’s Fox News presidential debate over concerns moderator Megyn Kelly would treat him “unfairly,” the network fired back that it would not bend to “terrorizations” toward its employees.'

Trump terrorizing a reporter, does that make him a terrorist? Ohhhh boy. Reporters always get treated like second class citizens, and it should not be that way.

First, he told them he did not want to attend a debate with her as the moderator, basically he wanted someone else to ask the questions.

They told him he could not tell them who would be asking the questions, she is THEIR reporter. He really cannot tell another business who they can have working for them, that is just arrogance or narcissm.

Then he said, well if you have to have her there, I want $5 million dollars to come to the debate, but I (not being greed) will donate that to the Wounded Warriors project.

Fox has held their ground. He can come if he wants to, but they are not going to pay him to come, nor will they let him decide who their moderator(s) will be. Now many of you do not know this, but you know those White House press conferences? The President has to be okay and in agreement for the news organization reporters that they want to send there to attend. They have to present the questions in advance that they will ask, and then they have to be nice, and they are NOT allowed to ask anything they have not submitted in advance or make the Prez feel uncomfortable or look stupid, if they do, they are not invited back EVER. Trump seems to already be doing this, but he is NOT a Prez yet, he does not hold that kind of power, so he should lighten up and just be his charming self like everyone else.

Megyn is a very good reporter. I have watched her show, he has been denigrating her for months, and we all saw what he did during that one debate, it was lowdown, and embarrassing to her, totally inappropriate. I did not even see the last one but it seems the unpleasantries continued.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-not-backing-down-from-fox-debate-boycott/ar-BBoKiiG?li=BBnb7Kz

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/fox-news-debate-trump-kelly-terrorizations

The real problem will be if he does become the nominee and the President, then Megyn will have a lot of difficulty because she is a reporter, and he does not like her. He could ruin or curtail her career, but but she can work for alternative media, even oversees where the truth is still told.

Thumbs up to Megyn, I hope she holds her ground.

No, that makes him spineless. If he is afraid of a reporter, how can he possibly take on world leaders and terrorists. You don't get to pick and choose who you deal with and what they might say.

Well North Korea is holding a US citizen hostage. If he cannot handle Megyn Kelly, how will he handle negotiating with world leaders and what would he do in this instance?

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/11/23/world/asia/north-korea-confirms-it-is-holding-us-citizen.html?_r=0

"North Korea’s confirmation broke nearly four weeks of silence by the North Korean authorities about the detained veteran, Merrill Newman, 85, of Palo Alto, Calif. It was conveyed to the State Department by Sweden’s embassy in the North, which represents American interests in North Korea."

I have to ask because remember his point of view that he did not think prisoners of war were heroes, he "liked" soldiers who "did not get captured". Well Merrill Newman was a veteran who is now held as a prisoner.

How would Mr. Trump handle a situation like this? How would he get this prisoner back? Or would he just say, too bad, you got grabbed, it's your own fault, we don't negotiate. These are the kind of things we need to know. How a proposed Commander in Chief deals with situations involving other countries, countries who are not our allies and are nuclear armed.

While we're at it here is an expose on the spending of the Wounded Warriors project, or the misspending. I doubt that Donald knows it is spending 40 percent on overhead. They are doing good work, but 40 per cent of it's income on overhead?

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/28/us/wounded-warrior-project-spends-lavishly-on-itself-ex-employees-say.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=photo-spot-region®ion=top-news&WT.nav=top-news

"Since its inception in 2003 as a basement operation handing out backpacks to wounded war veterans, the charity has evolved into a fund-raising giant, taking in more than $372 million in 2015 alone — largely through small donations from people over 65.

About 40 percent of the organization’s donations in 2014 were spent on its overhead, or about $124 million, according to the charity-rating group.

Former workers recounted buying business-class seats and regularly jetting around the country for minor meetings, or staying in $500-per-night hotel rooms. Steve Nardizzi, the CEO Nardizzi, was given $473,000 in compensation in 2014. He is running it as a For Profit business.

“People could spend money on the most ridiculous thing and no one batted an eye,” said Connie Chapman, who was in charge of the charity’s Seattle office for two years. “I would fly to New York for less than a day to report to my supervisor.”

The Wounded Warrior Project’s roots are more humble. Its founder, John Melia, was a Marine veteran who had been injured in a helicopter crash off the coast of Somalia in 1992. In 2003, when wounded troops began returning from Iraq, Mr. Melia remembered arriving in a stateside hospital with only his thin hospital gown, and began visiting military hospitals to distribute backpacks stuffed with socks, CD players, toothpaste and other items. "

Comments: The organization is doing good work for the injured that they serve, but as a 'for profit' endeavor, you will always have those who are not so humble in how they spend some of that profit.

You just can't make this kind of stuff up...

In 2011 Donald Trump said candidates who duck debates lack ‘courage’

In same interview with Megan Kelly prior to the 2012 election, Trump told her she was doing 'a great job.'

The Associated Press

Like so many other Donald Trump maneuvers, his withdrawal from Thursday’s Fox News Channel debate is a contradiction. During the last presidential election cycle, he criticized Republican candidates Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann for refusing to participate in a December 2011 debate sponsored by Newsmax that Trump himself planned to moderate.

What’s more, he leveled that criticism during an interview with none other than – wait for it – Megyn Kelly, the Fox News host and debate moderator that Trump now derides and wants removed from the stage in Des Moines before he would participate.

“Not lots of courage,” Trump said of skittish candidates at the time. “You know, these Republicans, they’re supposed to be brave.”

Trump ultimately stepped down as moderator, saying he wanted to reserve the right to enter the race later. He didn’t. But he told Kelly in that interview that he wouldn’t be as good at moderating debates as she is.

“I could never beat you,” Trump said. “That wouldn’t even be close. That would be no contest. You have done a great job, by the way, and I mean that.”

Fox News, which critics often accuse of being in the tank for Republican candidates, has been consistently tough on Trump during the current presidential primary season, even as he dominates polls. Kelly’s opening question to the real estate mogul during the first GOP debate in August marked the beginning of an increasingly tense saga; she rattled off a series of disparaging remarks Trump has directed at women and asked whether he possesses the “temperament” to be president.

Irked by the inquiry, Trump memorably said the next day on CNN that “you could see she had blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever.”

Since then, Fox News – and Kelly, in particular – have been in Trump’s crosshairs. On social media, he frequently complains about coverage that he considers unfair. At one point in September, he announced a boycott of all shows on the cable channel; six days later, however, he was a guest on “The O’Reilly Factor.”

And so it went for the next several months, until Trump pulled out of Thursday’s debate. He would gripe about the way Fox News treats him, but he continued to engage with their talent. There appeared to be some kind of awkward agreement that enabled the relationship between candidate and network to function on a basic level.

That accord appears mostly broken – even though Trump did keep his commitment to appear on O’Reilly’s show on Wednesday. But it wasn’t so long ago that Trump, Fox and Kelly seemed downright friendly. And it wasn’t so long ago that Trump seemed to think candidates who duck debates are cowards.

The debate was finally about substance (mostly) rather than insults.

I don't think it cost Trump anything because I'm not sure his spectacle will translate to votes.

He is teflon now, nothing he does will cost him primary votes at this point. If he doesn't win Iowa by 10-20 points I'll be shocked.

He didn't have to go to the debate anyway, that's why we have Stephen Colbert. Cool

Trump debates himself, revealing years of hypocrisy...

I saw the Trump debates himself segment last night on Colbert. The sad thing is that there is actual truth in the comedy of that segment. He plays both sides of a coin. Does anyone really believe he is the conservative he pretends to be? He is a salesman pure & simple.

The debate was finally about substance (mostly) rather than insults.

I don't think it cost Trump anything because I'm not sure his spectacle will translate to votes.

One reporter said it could actually have been a shrewd move, he was on top in the polls, and if he attended the debate and it went badly it could have cost him votes, so by not attending, he maintains his position ahead of the others. I don't think he planned that, but it is a good coincidence for him.

I also read somewhere it was NOT the ongoing discourse with Megyn Kelly that was his reason for NOT attending. It was that some reporters brought his daughter, Ivanka into it and were trying to get her to get him to come, and he would not allow his children to be used or harangued.

This is also an interesting story that Megyn relates on The Donald and Ivanka.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/celebrity/exclusive-megyn-kelly-tells-touching-story-about-donald-trump-that-speaks-beautifully-of-him/ar-BBoPNJT

I know somebody who knows Trump very well, and he was on a private plane with Trump years ago," Kelly told ET. "He tells the story about how an 11-year-old Ivanka came over and needed Trump's attention. Trump was in the middle of this meeting with these other powerful executives, and the other executives expected him to blow off the daughter, Ivanka, but he didn't. He blew them off. He stopped, and she said she needed help with her homework, and he walked to a different part of the plane with her, and sat down with her, and they attended to her needs. I think that story speaks beautifully of him, and the woman she is today speaks beautifully of him."

When asked about her current feud with the billionaire businessman, Kelly literally waved it off, saying, "He'll get over it."

"He will be fine. I will be fine and America will be just fine too," Kelly assured.

Remarks: She is smart, dignified, and and is a classy reporter. I also heard somewhere whenever men fight with women, underneath the anger and whatever they are talking about is a burning flame of passion, that is the man really wants to have sex with the woman and he hates himself for his body betraying him and disobeying his mind/intellect. I can say I know this premis to be true in the realm of life. Cool

Well I can tell you if that if they put up Rubio (who wants to send more people to Guantanamo to be tortured and kept there illegally) or Jeb and the Democrats put Hillary up as their candidate, I may finally choose to do a write in your own candidate thing.

I saw something on Fox last week and they said that it was Hillary in the situation room with Obama who was pushing him to do the raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan. They said that Obama was not even sure if they should do it, but like any woman, she more of less nagged him into doing that.

I do not think nagging yields good foreign policy. (even though many of you might be cheering on Madam President after knowing about this particular incident - ) Good foreign policy is based on mutual trust with global partners. We did not have that with Pakistan we just sent the choppers quietly and covertly, disrespecting another country's sovereignty and input into that decision. She also said previous to her last bid for the Presidency that she would only notify a country, in that instance it was Pakistan, when drones were in the air with missiles to take out a high value target. I do not think that is good foreign policy to ignore other countries and just do whatever we please.
