Trump attacks black CEO who resigned from White House
You missed the point as usually happens when people react on emotion. I am comparing "hate" in the connotation of being a verb. I am not attaching any noun to hate in any manner whatsoever. That personalizes it, which either takes away or increases the act of hating by an individual or group of people.
Don't mean to get in the way of the sanctimony, but you did or did not type this?
What makes your hate any better than theirs?
I'd say that's personalizing it.
I don't condone what they do or represent either. People responding to their hate with more hate escalated the entire situation in North Carolina. That is the premise of my perspective on the issue.
Hate + Hate = more hate <---PERIOD
If hating the entirety of the tenets and beliefs of white supremacy, white nationalism and Nazism is so offensive to you, that says way more about you than me.
Yeah posting on a message board about how much you hate is helping the matter.
Jerry said..."I don't care."
Yet you made a comment, classic !
James, you always have had this all-encompassing view that in essence, everyone is the same, all situations are equal and there's no sense of right and wrong based on...anything. We'll never agree. Ever.
Jerry said..."If hating the entirety of the tenets and beliefs of white supremacy, white nationalism and Nazism is so offensive to you, that says way more about you than me."
Actually I don't dig on any type of hate, so I guess that does say something about me.
In my past, a lot of years were wasted hating just about everything. It cost 5 years of my life behind bars in the California Department of Corrections. My hate was reciprocated with hate in return. It is a vicious cycle that always has the same conclusion in the end...More hate. I refuse to put any effort or time into hate, hating, and/or hatred. It is an awesome sense of freedom & peace.

In some things, I'd say you are absolutely correct. It is a waste of time, as far as I'm concerned to trip on stuff you have no control over. What is right to one person, may be wrong to another or visa/versa. Basically, you can only control your own choices and whether you are going to react or respond to situations & circumstances in your life. When you look at all perspectives & possibilities than just your own, the decision making process is way more simplified and beneficial all the way around.
I don't expect anybody to always agree with me, much less understand where I'm coming from.
You haven't walked in my shoes, nor me in yours. So there is the proverbial crux of the biscuit.
My hope is that you are yours are happy and doing well. Maybe we can agree on that my friend.
Laterz, James
Oh please. You wish him well by saying this?
Your a smart person, I'd think you'd get that. But I suppose it is easier to point a finger at others and be part of the problem...not the solution.

Wrong Jerry. I believe that is also Bhawk's name.

Why take parts of two separate posts and exchanges of dialogue just to stir the pot ?
I would tell you to look up the term "context" in the dictionary, but you'd more than likely want to argue about what page it is on or claim the dictionary was or wasn't a credible source.
Jerry is a big boy and can stick up for himself, if/when needed. In the end, since I was speaking to him...It is his call and his call alone to question my sincerity.
Just visit Pine Ridge, then we'll talk.
I play in a band with 4 Native Americans. The bass player grew up on Pine Ridge and we play there regularly, as well as just about every other Reservation in Montana, Idaho, The Dakotas, and Wyoming. So what exactly do you want about ?
I have persevered through tons of hatred, violence, and generational distain for those of white decent just to bridge a gap between cultural & spiritual barriers because of a desire to play music with some very talented musicians. Every time we play, I deal with racism. Yet every time we play, some change their perception and are willing to take a different look at what is going on and see another possibility that differs from the way things have always seemed to be for them. It has been a life changing experience for a lot of people, myself included.

I'm just calling out your b.s. You sound like you are filled with hate, otherwise you wouldn't even bother coming here to tell someone they are "part of the problem". I've been processed and convicted myself, and the lesson I learned is that we have to confront and fix the dysfunction in this country, like the neo-nazis. I find it amazing that after your experience, you appear to want to allow it to fester and grow.

Smooth your feathers there, I was supporting your comment, just upping the ante from a century ago to the present.
[Edited on 8/20/2017 by BrerRabbit]
Whoever it was that said 400 years ago is not paying attention.
Hitler was directly inspired by the US methods of genocide against Native Americans. His concentration camp system was modelled after the US Indian Reservation system.

It appears I was mistaken, my humble apologies.

Hitler was directly inspired by the US methods of genocide against Native Americans. His concentration camp system was modelled after the US Indian Reservation system.
He also followed the Eugenics Movement from the US. They believed that it was better to "help" distressed individuals with the use of an ice-pick in the brain. One of the Kennedy children who "wasn't right" had the procedure (frontal lobotomy) done to her.
Pearl Buck (author) had a sister that underwent one. Anyone with a mental disability was "put away" both figuratively and literally because they believed in euthanasia, so as to keep the fit and unfit separate.
Wanna guess who was a proponent of this movement? Think about it next time you eat breakfast.
No worries at all man. happy to see another soul around here who sympathizes with the ongoing indigenous struggle. Usually crickets on anything related to that.

If you think it's B/S, that is your prerogative. I have no control over that. I agree there is dysfunction in our country, but in my opinion...the fester comes from people reacting to hate with more hate under the presumption that their hate is justified for whatever reason. Believe it or not..."good', "bad", "right" & "wrong" are subjective terms. Those that don't get that, be it either by ignorance or choice are more than likely going to encounter conflict. Conflict that is instigated or retaliated. The proof of that is found in what happened. That is how I see somebody being part of the problem. and not the solution. You can never succeed in abolishing anything by doing the thing you are trying to abolish to accomplish that task. (IMHO)---> That is about as common sense of an approach as one can have. Some get that, others won't.
Good lord ! I guessed Kellog and read up a bit, what a total bizzaro whackjob freak. Had to stop reading when I got the carbolic acid part. Never touching a Kellog's product again, am gonna let them know why too.

I get ya, James. Same to you and yours.
Believe it or not..."good', "bad", "right" & "wrong" are subjective terms.
So violence, deception, and theft can be good and right?
Those that don't get that, be it either by ignorance or choice are more than likely going to encounter conflict.
Which is a part of life. You act as if experiencing conflict is something we must avoid at all costs. It's not.
That is how I see somebody being part of the problem. and not the solution. You can never succeed in abolishing anything by doing the thing you are trying to abolish to accomplish that task.
Good thing our judicial system disagrees with you - I'm glad there are life sentences for some of the creeps in this world.
"BoytonBrother said..."So violence, deception, and theft can be good and right?"
You and others have defended the violence in response to the Neo-Nazi protests as being justified. So how does violence become a perjovative in your statement above ? It actually proves my point."
BoytonBrother said..."Which is a part of life. You act as if experiencing conflict is something we must avoid at all costs. It's not."
The motive behind conflict should be the focus. If you come at something in a certain manner in protest, there should be an expectation to have it reciprocated. When that happens, the reasoning behind the protest on either side becomes secondary to the conflict that became the conclusion.

I was referring to trying to abolish hate with hate. How you attach the judicial system to that just proves my point that some don't get it. Responding to hate with hate is more akin to street vigilantism than an individual being judged by a jury of their peers in a court of law.

I defended the violence? Show me where, otherwise you are out of line. I denounced it in another thread, maybe you missed it. You should be more careful with those accusations and get your posters straight. I'm only referring to your comment "what makes your hate better than theirs?". To answer this question - the court of law makes it better. They made discrimination laws to make it illegal here in the USA.
Anyway, good people use their hate for good all the time. Some lawyers put away rapists and murderers because they are motivated by their hatred for violent people, and want to defeat them. Some people become cops for this same reason. Some people become doctors because of their hatred for cancer. Some people became entrepreneurs because of their hatred for living in poverty, creating jobs for people like you. And you are going to judge them negatively for that?
As for "not getting it", trust me when I tell you that it's not my comprehension. I'm telling you that you can't write worth a damn.

I was mistaken, see how easy that is.
BoytonBrother" said..."I'm only referring to your comment "what makes your hate better than theirs?". To answer this question - the court of law makes it better. They made discrimination laws to make it illegal here in the USA."
Actually legislation is not done in the court, the court interprets and upholds the law. Anyways, I don't get how you equate wronging a social injustice through legislation as hate. It is part of due process. Could you please elaborate, thank you.

In my opinion, a lawyer and police officer are obligated to keep emotion out of the equation. They lose objectivity and effectiveness. Justice in theory is blind. As far as hating cancer and poverty, those are things and not people. My point after all was trying to abolish hate with hate. How can cancer or poverty hate a doctor or entrepreneurs ? So you appear to making a really big stretch to prove a point.
BoytonBrother said..."As for "not getting it", trust me when I tell you that it's not my comprehension. I'm telling you that you can't write worth a damn"
Yet apparently you were able to comprehend enough to comment on what I wrote. That just shows it was more important to take a jab than maybe ask for more clarification.
I'm going to have to call you out on this.
Where has BoytonBrother said this?
It is entirely, it is found In the post above the one you quoted by me.
I admitted I was mistaken in saying he condoned the violence in my next post. If that is what you are referring to ?
Works for me. Good debate.
