There's a Seawolves team up here, but Erie SeaWolves are legit -- this one's political
HS team was called Rebels, under 'political' (read brainless) pressure they switched it to Wolves (even w/the majority telling em to leave Rebels alone)
A nearby HS is the Seahorses, so when football teams merged......the cliched boring shallow politically-manufactured hybrid Seawolves

winning 2 down there won't be as easy as in Bronx (It Wasn't Easy, only recently recovered from final inning of final game there, OMG)
same thing tho, "'stros siezed homefield!", but it didn't mean anything against NY -- forget the apple, that was the big Enchilada beating them (NY)

but houston isn't WS titlist for nothing, they're super -- like us, their winningest team ever -- 2nd best in MLB -- meantime Chris tries to get sprung from hospital (stomach ailment) -- both he & Craig weren't on top of it really in 2nd half of season -- Craig has given up runs in his last 3 outings

But Ya, SAWX -- no telling what's ahead -- thought it was Rick tmrw nite, I guess it's Eovaldi -- he pitched good his last turn

CHIEF WAHOO LIVES -- no political talking heads change that for bball fans who love the Tribe, esp older fans

3-0 is correct; heading into the bottom of the first

Never seen two great pitchers less able to perform on the big stage. Kershaw is probably the best pitcher since Pedro/Big Unit/Maddux. But in October he vanishes, Price is not in the same category; but an excellent pitcher who disappears completely.

However, law of averages began to swing in David's favor in last start 😮

We Need To Reset Our Rotation --
with Chris going no more than 3-4 IP in his remaining appearances, Stack The Back End --
A fresh rested relaxed Chris Sale is more valuable coming in the 6th inning w/a 4-2 lead, than at the start -- setting em up for Craig, or mayb Sale himself coming in the 7th-8th inning to finish, is a sound adjustment, if he's willing/able to buy in -- that lefty-righty tandem at the end of games would be grim for the opposition

Chris was lights out earlier & a top Cy candidate at All Star break -- the "mild shoulder inflammation" has had more than enough time to heal -- he's pitched great for us & the competitive fire has to kick in at some point -- he's outta the hospital, hopefully en route back to midseason form,at least long enough for a few Chris-type innings in this most crucial time of year that they all say they play for

PCBob's squad Brewin up a potent pilsener in the Beer City alright -- would like to see Milwaukee win -- let's go Sox

Yeah, Brewers are looking good, all the talk of them wearing out their bullpen seems like chatter. They took the LA crowd out of it early last night (while the Packers were laying on a dramatic finish against SF). See if they can steal another one tonight.

The Dodgers HAVE to win tonight. Gonzalez vs. Hill should be a good match up.

X2 -- Gio should be ready to have a good game, he got a new lease on life going to Mil from Wash & hopefully is dialed in -- Rich Hill a Good P too, was hoping we'd keep him when he was here -- 2 solid vets

Well, Gio didn't last long, but the bullpen held for another FIVE HOURS. That's almost 3AM here in EST. I like free baseball, but my eyes haven't quite opened yet this morning. Brewers had plenty of chances against the Dodgers' bullpen with the top of the order squandering it a couple times in extra innings. Well, both teams did, it was just a matter of time until somebody got a ball past the infield.

Meanwhile Machado is becoming Machadoaboutsomething dirty. Two questionable flailing slides in Game 3, and now trying to kick Aguilar in the ankle. Wonder if the league will discipline him, last night's kick at first was pretty flagrant.

Not sure what to make of that play. Guess you could spin that any way you want to. It does kind of look like Machado took a swipe at him but the first baseman probably should have been off the base when it happened anyway. He was already out so get off of the bag.

I used to ump games for years and one time something similar happened. There was a play at the plate and the catcher was standing on the plate. Runner comes around third and plows into the catcher.

Catcher didn't have the ball. The runner can run home. I almost had a riot but that was the rule.

Wasn't like the Buster Posey rule.

Well, the two of them made up, so I'm not too torn up about it. But Aguilar was hardly hogging the bag and Machado definitely looked down and dragged his foot at Aguilar. Bizarre, since at least the two slides possibly gained his team an advantage.

But hey, Machado was the last one over home plate which is what matters.

Bad time for Brewers bats to go quiet. You just can't keep stranding runners and expect to move on.

Meanwhile, Altuve has got to be pretty pissed with some Astros fans, though I think Mookie would have caught it. It's hard to not want to grab an object flying hundreds of feet in your direction but just let it drop!

There is an interesting piece on Yahoo Sports today about how that Mchado play might affect his marketability as a free agent this year. Questioning it really. I kind of doubt it will matter. It's not like he was Marichal taking a bat to someone's head.

In other news, Verlander better have his big boy pants on tonight!

Who would have bet on Price over Verlander this in a game this season? But that's how good the Sox are this year. I think the real world series was Sox-Yankees. Which ever team gets the NL pennant is going to be a huge underdog.

I don't think Machado's nonsense will greatly affect his offseason pay day - lots of teams that would love a chance to get a meager fine in the playoffs.

Brewers have to win tonight. Wheels came off last game. Hopefully home field advantage has some, well, advantage.

Is Joe Buck the most annoying announcer ever?

YES.

The reason everyone hates Buck is because he never seems interested in the teams in front of him unless it's the St Louis Cardinals. And the dude gets negative, so whatever team is behind, Buck can't get on their case quick enough. He thinks he's adding to the drama, but he's just infuriating every fan that has to listen to him. I turn the radio broadcast on and mute the TV.

Speaking of, loved hearing Uecker's voice cracking with excitement in the 9th of game 6. Would be pretty amazing if the Brewers pulled this off tonight, I know a lot of people who are making the pilgrimage to Miller Park today.

For sure, wonder how far Joe Buck would have gotten without him.

Meanwhile, Brewers are out. Lousy game 7, Dodgers' pitching was pretty flawless. Still, nice to have been there, it was a pretty great season. Next year!

Well this World Series holds no interest to me. Told my wife I wasn't going to watch it. She rolled her eyes and told me I was nuts. Fine I'll watch it and just pray the Red Sux lose.

They have the benefit of having been to the big dance, so now they know what to expect & that'll put LA over the top, some are saying
Wrong
Believe the pundits are also wrong saying Dave R will get a his usual big ovation -- he won't be booed obviously but they won't go crazy for him -- Dave's gotten many big ovations at Fenway, this is the WS tho

It'll be cold 2nite, they're not used to that & will struggle w/it
A Chris-Clayton matchup would've been amazing a couple years ago -- Chris is limited now -- maybe the cold will benefit him -- he's 12-4, Clayton is 9-5 -- the 2 former Cy winners won't go more than 5, by design

still think Chris should be used later in games b/c of that (being limited) -- Eduardo is 13-5 but hasn't pitched in weeks -- mayb Steven W could help if healthy -- Drew P has been called up as last option

LA is very good, they're not 2 time pennant winners for nothing
SOX IN 6 -- it'll all depend on the bullpen

I saw the line. Boston is -135. I can't believe it isn't more than that. Almost a sucker bet if you ask me. Red Sux should be favored by more then that. Well rested with home field advantage. That line really puzzles me.

Oh. And they are just better anyway. Lineup is playing better. Betts is playing out of his mind. Wonder if Machado has extra personal security. 😛

Yep they were the Robins when they last met, in 1916 -- Wilbert Robinson was one of the greats
they set a record that won't be broken this century-+-2 later -- more than 42,000 at Fenway!?!?

I've been to Fenway once and loved it. It seemed like I had been to minor league parks bigger. Very quaint. And a cool neighborhood. Way better than Wrigleyville in my opinion.

We won 3 there last week (Hou)
don't think it'll come as easy this wknd

biggest thing is securing Series on road, coming back on either side of 3-2, it'd still be leaving too much to chance -- LA is still dangerous & can go off anytime

but two solid games so far & yep, everyone has been pitching in -- depth, balance, key players etc -- so far so good for the RED SOX

"On This Day"
2007
Hideki Okajima becomes the first Japanese-born player to pitch in the World Series. The former Nippon Ham Fighters hurler comes out of the bullpen in relief of Curt Schilling and retires seven straight Rockies, including Kazuo Matsui, making it the first time Japanese natives have faced one another in the Fall Classic.

It becomes an endurance contest now -- the equivalent of 4 games in 3 days -- (befitting the season) they'll be zombies out there 2nite, understandably, & if it comes back to Boston the 3 hour jet lag will have more of an impact than usual, for both teams w/the cumulative 4-in-3 effect:o)

EDUARDO (13-5) -- when he's on he's got great stuff -- good call for tonite
Ian won't join Boone, Bill Buckner, Bucky, Pesky etc in Sox infamy -- If We Win The Series
I knew we'd tie it aftr they took their ace out in the 7th -- Eduardo has that kind of stuff too -- only a no hitter will enable a CG however, & even that...
Watta team, let's go Sox
