Key Points
The Lincoln Project, which is run by Republican operatives who oppose President Donald Trump, raised $1 million after the president ripped the group on Twitter this week – marking the super PAC’s biggest day of fundraising yet.
Reed Galen, a member of the Lincoln Project’s advisory committee, told CNBC that the total came after the president’s Tuesday morning twitter tirade in reaction to an ad titled “Mourning in America,” which unloads on Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Reed Galen, a member of the Lincoln Project’s advisory committee, told CNBC that the total came after the president’s Tuesday morning Twitter tirade in reaction to an ad titled “Mourning in America,” which unloads on Trump’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. It recently aired on Fox News, which Trump often watches and praises. Galen said it was the Lincoln Project’s best single-day fundraising haul
“A group of RINO Republicans who failed badly 12 years ago, then again 8 years ago, and then got BADLY beaten by me, a political first timer, 4 years ago, have copied (no imagination) the concept of an ad from Ronald Reagan, ‘Morning in America,’” the president said just before 1:00 a.m. ET on Tuesday.
Trump fired off another tweet later in day, suggesting the Lincoln Project was a scam PAC. The organization is run by longtime Republican and independent political advisors, such as Steve Schmidt, John Weaver, Rick Wilson, Jennifer Horn and George Conway, husband of senior Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway.
The Lincoln Project’s big fundraising day in the wake of Trump’s tweets could be the financial boost it needs to keep pumping out more anti-Trump ads. It finished the first quarter raising $1.9 million and has just more than $1.2 million on hand. Their top donors include Walmart heir Christy Walton and Silicon Valley executive Ron Conway, records show.
Galen noted that the same ad that riled up Trump has continued to air on cable markets around Washington, D.C., and will be seen next week in key battleground states.
The group recently put out an ad in support of Joe Biden, the apparent Democratic nominee for president. That ad has aired in Wisconsin and Michigan.
Just when you think this guy can't get any dumber.
You have to wonder what it's like in the Conway household. On the one hand Kellyanne Conway is one of the biggest liars in support of Trump and famous for her "alternative facts" interview, and on the other hand George, who is a charter member of the Lincoln Project & thinks, authors articles, and speaks publicly of Trump being incompetent & unfit for office.
Folks - this is what love must be all about.
I hope that someday we find out she was a mole. Probably not though.
I don't have a problem with the message of the ad being what it is.
I do have a problem with some of the building blight images, that would be better used in an ad exposing failed Bush 43, Bush 41 and Reagan trade policy (and Obama, Clinton).
Has fallout from Coronavirus led to decrepit buildings the way free trade has? The ad's imaging is misleading in that sense.
I saw Rick Wilson interviewed last night. He said that if Trump doesn't like that ad, just wait until he sees the next. I mean think about it - Trump has given late night talk show hosts new material each day for 3 plus years, and now his track record gives Republican operatives plenty to be used to present advertisements showing Trump for who & what Trump is.
Add to the list of “RINOs” William Kriistol, former chief of staff for Quayle, known conservative and leader of the GOP who helped kill Clinton’s health care bill, and McCain advisor
Trump also dissed Prez GWBush after his message of unity. I guess the only living former GOP Prez isn’t Republican enough
I love to see our beloved president cry like a baby. I've never seen a supposedly tough guy act like suck a wussy.
Go Lincoln Project!

Fair point.
Trump has given late night talk show hosts new material
Like that group has any credibility....
They are entertainers.... what credibility do they need? Mostly they just repeat the stupid things he says....

About the same credibility as reality TV stars.
