The use of natural gas instead of coal for electricity is just not good enough. It is never good enough.

America’s use of coal for electricity fell to an all-time low last year, and about 5% of coal-fired power plants were shut down. Most of that electricity was replaced with fracked natural gas, but wind and solar energy was also coming onto the grid.

5%?
According to ADP, over 100,000 coal workers have lost their jobs as a result of Obama's regulatory action.

While natural gas is a better solution the eco-extremists want fracking shut down too.
Solar and wind cannot supply the world's energy needs.

Apparently it is a long way in space to mine dilithium crystals.

The solution lies out there but should come from the research institutions and, universities and private companies.

I know most liberals hate the Dept. of Defense but DARPA has brought some amazing innovation...

As far as I know alot of the coal plants were switched over to nat gas, whatever figure that is. I take the 5% figure to mean that those are the ones that didn't get converted and shut down. Still lots of them burn coal though.

Seems to remember candidate Obama promoting clean coal as a way to address coal fired power plants. Oh well, can never believe those things candidates tell you.

Obama says a lot of things...

I am convinced that there is a solution. We just haven't figured it out yet.
Now, back to the laboratories!
And keep the lawyers ready to file for the patent.
