Sadly, this whole wall issue is just to satisfy the president's ego.
The Greatest Dealmaker In All Of Human History had two years to whip 10 compromise votes.
Instead, we have this temper tantrum reality TV charade.
Now, just my me saying that, simply making an observation on what actually happened, I'm just another clueless leftist who frames everything around how much I hate Trump.
Because you vote blue, you are part of the group that is attacking innocent conservatives simply for wanting an all-white Christian country. You are taking away their superior position of privilege, and insulting them while doing it. Your payback is Trump.
We have folks around here clamoring for deeper conversations. What's the point?
Civility. Just because others do not want to be respectful of one another doesn't mean we must all abandon it.

Civility and discussion are two different things. Both are difficult when someone's motives are predetermined prior to someone posting, regardless of that post's length.
I'm of the belief that there's a lot that's gone on in a daily basis in the last two years that should transcend party loyalty, that there are still some things left that most people would agree are wrong. No longer appears that is the case.
So, what now? Discuss or separate? I see alot this quaint notion that "we should come together regardless of differences and..." yeah...not seeing the point much anymore.
I agree, Bhawk. Looks like separation is the best route to take. The U.S. does not want inclusion apparently. But I can't help think about how it all started after 9/11. We came together for a couple days, but that attack began the split. Rightfully so, we were all passionate about what had just happened and how to respond, so inevitably, one side wasn't going to be happy. Bush's handling of the Iraq War, fueled by the integrity-challenged tabloid CNN, ultimately eroded away at his support, and left room for Obama to come in and capitalize on the country's longing for hope and change. And if CNN was going to be a liberal bias tabloid, then the only fair and balanced thing to do is to create a coservative bias tabloid to counterpunch CNN's glowing reviews of Obama. The combination of Obama's mass appeal and the emergence of equal rights among various minority groups was enough to scare the bejeezus out of "traditional" America, fueled by Fox News to validate their concerns, and rally them to elect this thing we have now in the White House. Too much damage has been done. Lets just cite "irreconcilable differences", move on, and hope we haven't lost any national security.
