I'm going to my first baseball game of the season today. Pittsburgh at The Friendly Confines. They have not been very friendly to the Cubs so far this year.

Went down to Central Illinois for the weekend - power washed my dad's house for a couple of days.  Church I went to when I was young celebrated their 200th anniversary, so I went to a service and a party for the old youth groups - got to see some people I hadn't seen in over 50 years ...

Storms rolled through last night maybe more today. I'll let Mother Nature take care of the lawn watering. Cool

Enjoying a Spotted Cow brewski listening to some vintage Neil Young & Crazy Horse. A cow and a horse maybe I should follow this with Floyd's "Animals." Smile

Goooooooooooooooooooood 'ol Bruce Springsteen Concert Day!

I can't believe I haven't seen him in about seven years. I think it was in Milwaukee, but tonight I get a less-than-favorite United Center. in Chicago. Hopefully, the acoustics are okay. They can be sketchy there sometimes.

Spotted Cow? Were you in Wisconsin?

Those are two very good choices, by the way. Smile

The Devon Allman show in Hobart was a lot of fun.  Good seeing Droogie and Moid again.  We almost called Lee when Larry McCray played Soulshine ... Laughing Out Loud

Yes, unfortunately, to attend a funeral in Zion, stayed in Kenosha. 10 minute drive down from the hotel.

How was the show? Bruce always one of the great live performers.

Bruce was amazing as always. He's not a kid anymore, so he didn't run around, have kids on stage, jumping around, etc., like he always did. I guess he played for about 3 hours, non-stop. Everyone took a little "solo", even the horn musicians. Nils Lofgren is arguably my favorite guitarist. When he solos, you know it. He does this twirling thing where he spins around really fast as he plays.

Tom Morello was on probably half of the show. When I saw him, I warned my wife about the "shredding" he likes to do, which I hate, and he did it on just one song. When he doesn't do that, he is an amazing player, although I'm not sure why four guitarists were necessary. And I would say that the other three are better than Bruce. Shocked

And ah, the politics of the show. The evening started with a spiel from Bruce for about 10 minutes (I guess that was the opener Razz ). He sprinkled bits of politics throughout the show, even changing the lyrics here and there. It was borderline over-the-top, but it was a great show.

Hiya Bill! I haven't heard from Rich in years. He should still have my number, but I don't have his. The last I knew, he lived in Charlotte, but that was a long time ago.

I forgot one other thing. Kind of ABB-related. They started playing this song that I kind of knew but wasn't sure. Then it dawned on me. It was "Night of 1,000 Stars" on Phil's album "There and Back Again". Written by Phil, Warren, and Robert Hunter.

Then I looked at the setlist the next day, and Bruce was playing "Night of 1,000 GUITARS". At least that is what I read. Sounded the same to me.

@sang We saw Devon's Blues Summit last Summer at a venue only 12 miles from home.

Fun night. Saw Duane & Palmetto Motel last Friday night, Tommy Castro on Monday then Carolyn Wonderland on Tuesday.

Nothing for us now until 5/17 when we see the Vai/Satriani tour.
