Republican Led Bill to Legalize and Tax Marijuana Emerges

This is encouraging to say the least......

I've stated before - ANY party that furthers legalization is gonna gain a $hitload of votes - including those who would otherwise favor the other party. It could very well tip the scales for whichever party decides to give the people the right to choose.
Personally, I don't like Biden but I detest Trump. This past election I could not wait to vote for a Democrat - thinking that maybe this would finally be the time for change. But tired, sleepy-ass Joe has a genuine F-up artist for a son and like that dinosaur Jeff Sessions, seems to think that only bad people partake. At least he ain't Donald Trump.
My ears are open and listening - to ANY party on this issue.

I agree about whatever party makes this reality wins a lot of votes....That said, I’m not encouraged that Biden would sign any bill to end the war on cannabis even if the Senate and House sent him such legislation. The man is simply entrenched in his opposition to ending even one facet of the drug war.
And I doubt there’s enough support in Congress to override a presidential veto...I hope I’m wrong.

MARIJUANA!!!! YIKES!!! JOE FRIDAY won't like it!!!

Just remember it's the present day GOP these times... Caveat Emptor.

Well that is progress I guess, getting the GOP to sponsor Cannabis reform.
I fear the author of the article hit the nail on the head when he stated the Democrats most likely will not support the GOP effort to give them a political win when they have an even more far reaching bill being proposed.
Just another example of how broken our political system is when the politicians put their political agendas and thirst for power above the good of the people. And it is a systemic problem not just a one party issue. Both parties are guilty.
Maybe I am wrong but I would be surprised if Biden would veto a bipartisan bill considering the political implications it would have for his reelection.
He may not like it but I would bet he would sign it if it was supported by both parties.
