Oregon militia leaders acquitted in wildlife refuge standoff
I find this very disturbing. i understand some here will be cheering this verdict though. I hope this doesn't mean the things that happened there will become the norm.......i think they will though because of this verdict.
Very scary stuff.

Pure bullsh!t verdict.
There are certain groups that will see this as a green light to commit more acts like this.
Terrifying. 😮 😮 😮
my mind is spinning. i'll wait to read more but it seems any group protesting can do it armed, left or right. i'm guessing in long run will be court rulings for either side and have to face a final supreme court ruling vs an 8 person court given stated stance of some on the right to block all nominee's until they get total control. wow
The message is clear- much too agressive federal over reach into property rights and land use. Go home johnny bureaucrat.
yea ok OG, but in this political climate.......where is the line now?
Totally bonkers. Boys playing with toys. They are still in custody for the Nevada standoff.
ok, i've calmed down a little over this. it doesn't set any precedent. if any other group tries this they may or may not be found guilty. it is still total BS. Jury nullification sucks. it sends a very bad message to the country.
On the same day that a jury acquitted the Bundy brothers and their fellow protesters for taking over federal land in Oregon last January, police in North Dakota today used pepper spray gas and a painful high-pitched siren, and then arrested 117 Native Americans and others for protesting a private oil pipeline across land they say belongs to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe under a 19th-century treaty. In other words, it's fine to mount an armed insurrection so your cattle can graze for free on federal land, but not if you want to protect your sacred burial ground or your only source of water from a private for-profit oil pipeline company.

total bullcrap. If they were Indians or Black it would have been open warfare out there. What needed to happen was a counter-protest outside the Malheur of people demonstrating against a-holes taking over public lands, our lands, not welfare ranchers' lands. And good point Gondi - but I already mentioned the ND Native protest here and the silence on the issue was deafening. Nice to hear a little noise about it - but I get the impression that Native American issues are way off the radar around here, "make an omelet ya gotta break a few treaties" right?
