@stephen Pitts? There's no NBA team in Pittsburgh? I don't understand these words you are typing.
Anyways, Bucks take another from the floundering Nets. Like I said, it's all about when you peak...

It’s my bad PCBob - w/so few sports minded & no hockey fans, I thought I’d put puck as well as hoop posts in the thread - kinda merge em I guess - a ‘hijacking’ of sorts I guess, not so cool....
have tried to keep it to topic w/mostly hoop posts - haven’t always succeeded tho😮🤙 - Yep Bucks will be right there, could be their year!

Warriors lost by to New Orleans last night in a close game after beating N.O. the previous night by 15. Despite the loss, Curry was his usual inhuman self, he had 37.
Here's the problem with the Warriors and why, despite Curry, they will not go far in the playoffs: When Curry is on the court, the entire offense centers around him. Andrew Wiggins will get some looks, and Wiggins had 27 last night. But it's very difficult for any other Warrior to even get a shot when Curry is in the game. Like any other player, Curry has imposed "rest" periods during the game. And when he's out, how can you expect these other guys to be in synch, or to use another word, rhythm, when they hardly touched the ball while Curry was on the court? Huge issue right now that the Warriors are facing.

Smokin pre-playoff game in the Hoosier state
Caris Levert 35 Pts/14Rb/8A - Sabonis, 30/13/13, awesome
But Russell ties the Big O for triple doubles - & Beal 50 pts in a crucial OT thrilla win for Wash
We have our own preplayoff tmrw - Miami is 1 game ahead of us
we don’t know what makes the boys tick this year - but every game is do or die from now on
so let’s go Green - we need offense

Nice game for Sabonis and Levert. I saw the scores and stats the day after. Pacers are becoming a dysfunctional bunch.
I love basketball, but the NBA was been wearing on me over the last decade and its hard for me to follow due to multiple reasons. I keep an eye on the Pacers here locally, and that's about it. But even that's waining.
Indiana is one of those teams that will be spinning its wheels in mediocrity for the near future and has been in the recent past. They are the type of franchise among others that will never be able to land a "big name" to build around/and to draft his buddies to come here. You see potential stars that come out of college, get drafted in the lottery to some bottom feeder team. Few years go by when it gets close to their contract being up and the talk starts what other players they are going to join up with to build this mega/super team.
I would say the only "so called" elite talent that they drafted over the last 30yrs was Paul George....and we all know how that ended up.
it was nice to see Giannis Antetokounmpo resign with the Bucks. But I guess money talks. 228 million over 5 yrs. So that's 45 million over the 5yrs. Break that down per game he would be making 548,000.00 per game. Did I figure that out correctly? I guess you are worth whatever anyone wants to pay you.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

If Kyrie had caught the full force of the stray elbow of 6-11 behemoth Nikola Vucevic the other night, the impact would’ve been the same, or maybe worse, as what Rudy T got from Kermit Washington in the 1970s - fractured face, blunt force trauma etc
fortunately it only grazed him
lets go Celts, ya never know

Hey Stephen: Getting ready for Washington - Boston tonight, should be a good one. Watching partly because I'm a Russell Westbrook fan..............hope he doesn't torch your boys TOO bad.
Also, I have a question for you: Would you say that the Kemba Walker - Terry Rozier trade was a bad move for Boston? I don't follow the Celts closely, but I do remember Rozier REALLY tearing it up with the Celts and how shocked I was when I heard of the trade. Not that Walker isn't a good player too...........their stats this year were nearly identical: Rozier 20/4/4, Walker 19/4/4. The difference of course is that Walker missed significant time with injury, looks like around 30 games. Of course no one could have predicted that. That said, Rozier looked like an up and coming star and part of a scary Boston triumvirate with Tatum and Brown. To me it's a bad move. Yeah, I know the Celts got a second round pick in the deal. Still.........
Thoughts?
Warriors really coming on, won 6 straight to finish the season. Second year guard Jordan Poole really hitting his stride off the bench, had 38 last week vs Pelicans. Tomorrow night vs. Lakers is gonna be a damn WAR...........

Hi robslob, yeah I wasn’t enthused about that trade - Terry was a C’s draft pick & was getting better & better - saw no reason for it - thought Charlotte would be better this year w/he & Gordon
but Jays obviously beamed in from another planet last night - conversely Indy had eight players in double figures, where did that come from
we can beat brklyn - Jayson will have to continue to be superhuman - same thing with Curry/GSW as you mentioned recently, he too has to be off the charts for your guys - fun one in store w/LAL

@stephen: Oh Man, Tatum as you said was on another PLANET last night! 50 points, 17-17 from the line. WHAT a performance. With Jalen Brown out he knew he had to rise way above and he did.............I really respect a playoff performance in a pinch like that. Unfortunately without Brown, Tatum will have to stay on that level for Celts to keep advancing. Tough to do. Kemba Walker was on target last night as well though, hitting from deep all night and finished with 29. That means Tatum and Walker had 79 of the Celtics' 118 points and the Celts only had one other player in double figures (Tristan Thompson 12). That's an awful lopsided scoring load but then the Warriors of course have been winning exactly the same way, Curry gets 45, Andrew Wiggins 25.
GO WARRIORS!!!!

Your take of things proved out bro - too bad it had to be as spot on as it was😮😮🙃
Celts are looking at the same thing - they’ll be running fresh legs at Jays all night long - all the other guys, not just Kemba, will have to really step up
Both teams played well tonite - Memphis is very good but Jazz I think will handle them in a series, esp w/Donovan Mitchell’s return
Klay returns next year - no reason they shouldn’t regain top-shelf status, what do ya think

@stephen: Memphis 117 Golden State 112. Yeah Stephen I agree, I look like a prophet right now. Steph had 39 but still I've never seen him throw the ball away that many times unless it was the one time Cleveland beat them in the Finals. Despite putting up 39, Steph looked like the stress of having to be the all-in-one magical savior was finally taking it's toll. YOU CANNOT KEEP THROWING THE BALL TO GUYS ON THE OTHER TEAM AND EXPECT TO WIN THE GAME.
That said, we witnessed IMO a rising NBA Superstar: Ja Morant. He's only 21 so he's only going to get better. And he seems like the kind of guy who is driven to be great, like Curry and LeBron. Also, at least for one night, Morant got that 3 point monkey off his back: He was regularly stroking them as if he's been doing that all along. And again, he's so young that he will only improve in that regard. Morant had 35 with 6 assists, 6 boards and 4 steals, a MONSTER game. And he had help: Memphis had 6 players in double figures.
You mentioned getting Klay back, and of course any Warriors fan is focused on that. Personally? I hate to say it, but I think the chances of Klay returning as 75% or more of the player he once was are not real good. Look at it: An ACL, misses entire season. Then an Achilles, misses another entire season. Those are BOTH devastating injuries for a basketball player and it is very questionable as to whether his body is going to stand up to the rigors on an NBA season. If they are smart they will limit him to about 24 minutes and Steve Kerr is definitely smart. Jordan Poole needs to continue to step up, also Kelly Oubre and James Wiseman once they come back from their injuries next year.

Looks like some underdogs are going to give the Lakers and the Jazz ALL they can handle. Although it's hard to understand how the #2 seed Suns were ever underdogs to the #7 seed Lakers. Ja Morant and company showed the team with the best record, Utah, that they are in for a dogfight with Memphis. These should be two great series! In fact, I don't see any one of the 8 first round series that does not look extremely competitive.

Dallas 127 LA Clippers 121. Same old Clippers. Mavs take both games in LA to go up 2-0. Luka Doncic: 39 points 7 boards 7 assists. Clippers were favored to win this series, now they have to go on the road down 0-2.

Guessing they’ll make a series of it - at the very least that 0-2 looks a lot smaller than what we’re looking at - Celts gotta be flawless in all phases, let’s go boys, give em green

Glad the, uh, pre-offs(?) are over. Hope the NBA ditches the play-in next season, the playoffs are already long enough. They probably won't give up the TV money.
Bucks are up 3-0 on the Heat, who surprised them last season in the playoffs. They looked unstoppable last March, but I think they are a little more tested this season. Hopefully they can keep the train a'rolling.

By hook or by crook….w/no Rob’t Williams 2nd half & no O from Kemba, Marcus S & Tristen T stepped up….& looked up at the lofty magnitude of JaysonTa - we stayed w/it, now it’s 2-1 - Kyrie was quiet, luckily
Bucks about to advance - they should bring Kareem & Oscar back to mark the 50th year of their title - Could This Year’s Team Compare & Go All The Way Too, etc…..
There’s Nothing To Lose - How You Go Celts

🥅 🏒 🥅 🏒 we can beat them - side note, it’s the swan song (again😮) of Nassau Colesium, Uniondale LI - they move to a new ‘state of the art’ facility similar to the Barclays, next season
5/1/73 Nassau Colesium - it was one of that lineup’s finest hours, esp the Mtn Jam
To use a 🏀 analogy, it’s the same old - they’ll try to wear down our top line in the same way Celts opponents key on Jayson Tatum
NYI is a huge problem to play, a tough OT-filled series is in store - but you know it’s all black & gold baby, BROONZ ya

Sad to read about the passing of former Jazz C Mark Eaton in a bicycling accident - 11 years w/Jazz 3rd behind Stockton & Malone
he was 7-4 - former NBA C Shawn Bradley, 7-6, was also in a terrible bicycle accident a month or two ago, leaving him paralyzed

🥅 🏒 this is the 16th time Leafs & Habs have met in the playoffs
& the 1st time since 1979
& only the 2nd time it’s gone to a game 7
only other time, 1964 semis, which Leafs won
good start for B’s, let’s go boys

@stephen: This news regarding Mark Eaton is really strange. Article I read said, "They found him unconscious near his bicycle. It is not believed that a vehicle was involved." Wow he must have taken a VERY bad tumble then. It didn't say whether or not he had a helmet on. It also said he was at the Jazz - Grizzlies game just Wednesday night!

Those Stockton-Malone-Eaton-Bailey teams were a lot of fun to watch, Eaton was such a titan under the hoop. Not that a biking impact in the Utah countryside isn't dangerous enough for a big, older guy, but I wondered if he had a heart attack or medical emergency while biking.
Meanwhile, what is with these rowdy fans? Running on the court, throwing bottles. I get it's good to be back in the stands after a stressful year, but it's just basketball, people - just eat your popcorn and enjoy. I'm hoping this doesn't boil to a head like it did in the Palace 15 years ago.

The clown who threw a bottle at Kyrie was deservedly arrested & hopefully is given the fullest punishment - permanent ban & more
Right or wrong it makes all Boston fans look bad, & if series returns to Boston, it should also return to 0 attendance - it’s been that way all along during covid anyway
again, all fans shouldn’t have to suffer for one jerk, but if this is what reopening games is bringing (somebody ran on the court in Phila too as was pointed out), then suffer the consequences….

@stephen Cagers. That's what they use to call basketball players when the court was cordoned off in a large net-like mesh. Maybe it's time to build a hockey-like plexiglass wall around basketball courts?
There are many true sports fans - student of the game, if you will - who are true spectators and good sports. There are others who think that the purchase of season tickets with good seating assignment somehow confers upon them the power to abuse the athletes. These types are not good spectators or sports and they bring nothing but shame and disgust to their home town and team.

Denver 147 Portland 140, 2 Overtimes. Without a doubt one of the greatest NBA playoff games I have ever seen. It will be hard to bring myself to erase it!
I'm a big Nikola Jokic fan and I think he's the MVP so I'm happy. That said, it's really a shame to witness a performance like Damian Lillard of Portland had and see the poor guy lose: 55 points, 10 assists, 6 rebounds. He was simply unstoppable. Both Jokic and Lillard had help: All five Portland starters had at least 13 points. For Denver, Michael Porter Jr, a 22 year old emerging star, had 26. Monte Morris had 28 off the bench with MANY key buckets and free throws in crunch time. WHAT a ballgame! Denver is up 3-2 in this series.

Bucks-Nets in the 2nd round. Bucks went 2-1 against them in the regular season, but Nets were never at full strength. Should be intense.

Great games - Danny has had a great run w/the C’s - with a healthy Jayl B & Kemba it would’ve been a much more competitive series - look at what happened no AD last night
but now Stevens replaces Ainge & we look for a new coach - You Rawk Danny👏🤙
**not official apparently, but looking that way

Would’ve said Wash had a great chance at a 3-2 series w/no Embiid (“doubtful”)
but no Bertans is almost as major for them - see it going Phila’s way
no Celtics in the mix is a downer - No ‘Rebuild’ Is Needed/In Store, we’re fine - guessing one or two personnel moves (players) in the offing

@porkchopbob: Bucks - Nets will be a GREAT series. Can't wait. This ain't last year's Milwaukee team, that's for sure.

@stephen: I still think Ainge trading Terry Rozier to Charlotte for Kemba Walker and a second round pick was a HUGE mistake. The fact that the Celts got a draft pick thrown in was an admission by both teams that Rozier is more valuable an asset than Walker is. Maybe the Celts will be better off without Ainge. Ever since the 2008 title it seems they are on the verge every year but just can't get over the hump. So now they let their Coach go and move him to GM where he has NO experience? Kinda strange...........

🤙Time will tell robslob - briefly, the penalties fit the crimes, those Phila & NY fans have been permanently banned & the Boston fan has been charged w/assault - presumably he too has been banned - the NY one at MSG was weird, a Knicks fan threw a beer at a Knicks player
if Kemba’s health had held up, imo it’d’ve been a different story - you could be right, Danny himself said he viewed his retirement as “a big step forward” for the franchise
he was as good in the front office as he was on the court, his record proves that & there’s no reason coach Stevens can’t be as successful in his new role as he was on the bench - familiarity is good
Danny coached Phoenix Suns
& was a better player than Michael Jordan
….on the baseball field🌎🦕
