NASCAR Fantasy Yahoo League
Some NASCAR fans here. We are still doing the fantasy league, I first played with you guys 6 years ago or so I guess. Last couple years there haven't been too many forum members join. Danb and Alanwoods are in. Some of my family and friends play, it is a pretty small league usually.

We are the usual trouble makers??? Get in the pool fools.
I don't follow it enough (or at all), which means my only fun would be beating woods and danb..........
As with any fantasy league my problem is logging in and managing my team from week to week. I'll give it a shot. For you guys. 😛

I think I have finished dead last the last two years. See if you can pick worse than I do...
Yeah, Sang and Bhawk do it!
Sang you can just pick your favorite color cars...or favorite numbers.
Bhawk, maybe you'll get some enjoyment out of kind of knowing what is going on weekly.
If you forget to do it...maybe set a lineup now for several weeks into the future. Really if you wanted to you could pick all your drivers today for every single race to the end of the season (just remember to not use anyone more than 9 times).
Looks like some of my family members may not be interested, kind of a story there, family termoil so we aren't really talking about NASCAR right now LOL.
Anyway, I know for sure 1 other person will be signing up who typically keeps active all season long.
More racing Thursday night from Daytona.
Sang! Your in!
Alright. You can do pretty good without knowing anything. Alot of it comes down to avoiding crashes and bad pit road luck.
The hardest part will be picking your C drivers each week. There are 36 races, so you need to start 36 C drivers. You can use each driver 9 times, so really once you see who the decent C drivers are you only need to rotate between 4 or 5 of them. The best C drivers will be Elliott, Blaney, Vickers (when he races) from there you'll find a handful of other drivers that are worth using each week. Kind of takes some time to see what C teams have their stuff together and who is worth to try and start in your lineup. Good luck!
Well, there goes this week. I had the 88 AND the 24.
After one race Bhawk 1st and Sang 3rd!
With Jeff Gordon retiring, that pretty much concludes the Winston Cup Era in my mind. I can't honestly say I'm a huge fan of many drivers now, save for always wanting Junior to do well. It's much easier making fantasy picks when you aren't emotionally invested, and a lot of the top drivers right now are pretty much unlikable tools. 😛
Pick the winner two weeks in a row, yet my other three drivers finish 23rd, 24th and 27th. Effin fantasy sports.

You did something that nobody else did this week, failed to improve upon your week 1 results.
Newman was having a good race, that was a good pick. Just had that tire go out on him. Not sure WTF was going with Kayne. Blaney was running pretty strong, lead lap just about all race which is saying something with what just 2 cautions. I lost track of what happened to him at the end.
Two girls sit 1 -2 on our standings this week. I bet Danica is jealous. How is Danica a B driver this year?
Sang!
You just had the highest score for the race today, and it was the highest point total anyone got this year!
Should have named my team Blind Squirrel........... 😛

or Wrectum
I thought that was your team name...........
HA!
There was a team name before Recked'Em, or something like that. Guy name is Reck, he is my nephew by marriage. I guess he likes making fun of his name. This year he is the sucking hind tit dude.
I went on Friday to change up my roster, but it didn't give me the screen to change it. I must have been logged in to my other yahoo account ...... good thing I wasn't able to change Kyle.....
I actually watched the whole race (the delay made it start after the Blackhawks game)....
Other than the "invocation" by the duck dynasty guy it was fairly entertaining......
Wasn't a bad race, tires made things interesting. Truex made a rookie mistake by not pitting at the end for tires.
Have to say Jeff Gordon has added a bunch to the booth. Waltrip is on his way out. He echos more of what Jeff says then adding to conversation.
I like Waltrip but JG is more in tune with todays car then DW.
Kyle Busch and his wife are painful.
Nice to see Kahne climbing back into the world of top 15's and young guns putting the fear in the old boys.

Alright! You are on your way to watching a second race now maybe!
Yeah, how about that national anthem? Feel like I shouldn't be critical of somebody giving it their best, but that wasn't very good.
Unfortunately I feel asleep before the end...too many beers with the nearly 2 hour delay. Stenhouse was running top ten the entire night, I see he finished mid-teens. I was really surprised to see the RCR cars struggle. They have been strong lately this year. Especially Austin Dillon he was really strong in practice lap averages and just sucked all race. Disappointing for Vickers, he was having a nice run. And Clint Bowyer continues hating life.

Yeah Jeff's good. I hear him and Wallace disagree quite a bit and always seems like Jeff is making more sense.
You hear more and more people are cheering for Kyle Busch now when he wins. I guess Lagono is the new villain.
Totally agree that Jeff Gordon is an upgrade to "the booth."
I honestly have never liked DW as an announcer and fully agree that his time has passed, retire him.
One criticism of broadcasts, when they run the radio audio between drivers, spotters and crew chiefs - I cannot hear it generally. So, I'm glad we have access to that but the announcers either need to repeat what they just said or expound on it, explain it - NOT just agree with it, because I didn't hear it to begin with !
I know ole Clint Bowyer is in a lame duck season, but WTF ? Do they really drain and/or redirect his resources that bad ? That team's performance is pathetic.
I do like Michael Waltrip's Grid Walk, that is usually entertaining.
Long time Nascar fan here - and I'm telling you, DVR is the way to go.

Same boat here, not even sure how crew chief can figure out what driver is saying.
Smoke is back !
Honestly, I am amazed he is able, but even though I would like to see him do something well in his last season, I don't see it happening.
A top 10 or two or three the rest of the season ?
Leafsfan! Big winner last week, one of the best scores this year.....but you are still in 9th place!
Yeah, Stewart, the whole team seems off. Harvick is really good, but not dominant like he was at times last year. Seems like Kurt isn't quite as strong either. As a team they are behind Gibbs, Hendrick...maybe on par with RCR? I'd say that Tony has an outside chance at a win and based on how Vickers has run in the car at times they should be able to compete for top 10s.
Fantasy update, two of top three are girls and Sang is currently the highest ranking forum member :O
{this thread has sort of turned into a discussion thread or at least I obviously think so}
Discussion about Cousin Carl ever so slightly bumping Kyle Busch out of the way for the win at Richmond ?
Wasn't a big bump and dump, but obviously enough.
Carl said afterwards that they both had a win, so no big deal, not so sure that is how Kyle felt.
On one hand I sort of think it was a little crappy for Carl to do that, but I really don't care all that much.
And also, noticed the stands did not look full, Nascar attendance = way down.
Sang won again!
I should take back whatever I said about Stewart-Hass being on par with RCR. I don't know what I was thinking when I typed that. I still think Stewart can find his way to a win potentially, but they are going to need some of the Harvick/Busch good stuff.
The 19 bumping the 18? "That's racin I guess" says Kyle.
I think Carl said it right, it looked like Kyle really slowed in that last turn almost to where Carl had to bump him or really let out of the gas. As the announcers said, Kyle was pretty conservative there, like 'Carl is behind me he isn't going to do anything silly'.
But wins are big deals. I think Carl was in the right. He didn't wreck Kyle and if Kyle had drove that last turn differently then Carl maybe wouldn't have been in that position to do it.
I think Kyle is pretty damn good driver, but kind of feels good to see him get the shaft...he's probably still a prick. How do I know. How about his wife's reaction? She's probably more mad than Kyle. Carl's wife and her are probably not talking now at the next JGR mixer. LOL.
Yeah, the stands are crazy low on people. I really enjoy the sport. It is cool to be there, but it is better to watch on TV I think.
Guess it pays to forget to change your lineup sometimes..........
Talladega !
The race where we see drivers up front that we don't normally see.
Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be single file racing, up near the wall.
