He paid homage the the band he co-founded and was a part of for over 40 years, and this "new" band includes 5 players who were members of the Allman Bros. at one time or another (including 2 of the founders). Seems like an entirely appropriate name to me. Sort of like the recent incarnations of the Grateful Dead using various versions of the name (The Dead, Dead & Co.).

I saw that band last Friday night and it was disappointing. ABB music requires two great guitar players and Freight Train ain't got it.
