Just got power back after Irma!
Alabama Power came all the way to Byron, Ga and got us up and running again.
During Irma I fared ok, and a lot better than others. One tree, an oak, snapped about 4 feet from the ground, part of a fence and a gate got bowed over, and I haven't been able to get through the valley up to the hill yet to see if I lost any trees up there. The "creek" is now about 5 feet deep and around 70 feet wide. Funny to watch logs floating down what is usually a dry creek bed. Winds were about 40 mph constant and gusts over 60 mph.
Any body else get hit, any damage?
Was finally able to get up the hill and I definitely will not need to cut down trees for firewood. Several of the older oaks are down and a few Bradford Pear trees, big ones, are down.
God has been merciful to us here in NY, but I can tell you when we had Sandy, it was the boys from Georgia in their electric truck that got my lights back on. I saw them coming off the parkway, about 10 of them, and they got it done after a week and half in the dark.
You can send up some prayers to God because the model runs show Maria (which will still be a Cat 4 once it bashes Puerto Rico and starts heading north) will not hit Florida or the coastlines. The models I saw yesterday show it coming close to NC/VA coast then going out.
I think God is trying to get our attention and call us back to him because the 7 years of apocalyptic events are about to begin, including the 7 year war between Israel/Palestine, during which time (at the 3 1/2 year mark) the anti-Christ rises and takes power in Jerusalem. We are living in those times.
