I Should've Worn A Mask
After silence followed by letting his wife humiliate & embarrass herself by defending him by saying Pence didn't know about the mask policy at Mayo, the Director of the US COVID-19 Task Force admitted he should've worn a mask. He admitted his team had been briefed in advance about Mayo's policy. He admitted Mayo provided masks for himself & his entire entourage, including reporters, that he declined. He admitted his "I didn't think I needed one" excuse was lame & defied the hospital's policy based in part on CDC guidelines & those set by the Trump administration. He wore one when he toured a ventilator manufacturing plant later.
Finally, a truth & admission of a mistake comes out of the administration. The world didn't explode. The Republican party didn't implode. The Democratic party didn't seize power.
If anything, Pence gained some credibility in doing a 180. He stopped lying & having his wife lie for him. He stopped trashing the #1 US hospital by letting Mayo's statement of preparation stand. He appeared more deserving of the role of Director of the COVID-19 Task Force. He claims he'll wear a mask in the future (presumably, under circumstances where it's the policy of wherever he's visiting). I say good for Pence. No one expects leaders to be perfect. We've come to expect Trump to lie. There's a glimmer of hope when Pence can admit he made a mistake, quit lying, & speak candidly to the American public.
And now, it's really time for my break from the forum.
I once told a traffic cop that I should've been driving the speed limit. He ticketed me anyway. Just sayin'.
When you're wrong, it's ok to admit it. Props to Pence for admitting it. If Trump would admit he was wrong every once in a while, I would be willing to give him some slack on occasion.
shamanism, witch doctoring and voodoo.
Don't forget reality TV producing.
At Trump's Lincoln Memorial Fox Town Hall yesterday, he says this:
"We never had a more beautiful set than this, did we?"
