Glenn Robinson III's Winning Dunk Last Night
After all these years, this is without a doubt one of the best I've seen. Especially amazing to a former b-baller like myself with a serious case of White Man's Disease.
Great dunks, but even more amazing is Glen Robinson's son is old enough to play pro ball.
I cant remember the last time I watched a dunk contest let alone the all star game. It's hard for me to watch, and I love basketball.
I did see GRII dunk replayed on the local news here in Indy. Hopefully he can elevate his game like that for the Pacers, no pun intended 😉 He actually was a good pickup last year, and is a solid player. He is still young and hopefully can develop more.
I used to watch the NBA quite a bit from the mid to late 80's and up until just a few years ago. Mostly just the Pacers. I don't follow it quite as closely as I once did for a variety of reasons.
Golden State is pretty amazing to watch and so are the Spurs.
More of a fan of the college game.
On a side note I heard this on the radio yesterday.

Jimmer Fredette scores 73 points in Chinese league game
Former NBA first-round pick Jimmer Fredette scored 73 points Sunday night as his Shanghai Sharks lost in double-overtime on the road to the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in the Chinese Basketball Association.
Fredette's 73 points are the fourth-most in a single game in the CBA, behind Errick McCollum (82), Quincy Douby (75) and Bobby Brown (74). It's also a high for the team and for him.
In his first season in the league, Fredette has led the Sharks, who have struggled recently, to the playoffs, which begin Feb. 24. No. 3 seed Shanghai will face Shenzhen. He is among the league leaders in scoring at 36 points per game and won the 3-point contest at the league's All-Star festivities.
After being named the college player of the year for BYU in 2011, Fredette was the 10th overall pick of the Milwaukee Bucks that year, but he never matched his college success in the NBA. The 27-year-old has played for the Sacramento Kings, Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans and New York Knicks. He spent most of last season in the NBA Development League, and he was the All-Star Game MVP in that league.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,
I'm with you. I love basketball too but the NBA bores the hell out of me. Walk down the court, shoot a three, other team in bounds, does the same thing. College has more action.
Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.
same here...though I don't get bored because I don't even watch it anymore. Last pro game I watched was when Bird played. It's been a while. College.
I love watching the Warriors, even if it is against a vastly inferior team. Everyone tries to give them a knockout punch and some of those games end up being quite interesting. They are SO finely tune and skilled, if you love basketball they are poetry in motion and have been for years now.
I love the slam dunk contest, but the NBA All-Star game has turned into some kind of really sad joke! I taped it and just out of curiosity tried to watch a little bit yesterday. NO defense whatsoever, just move out of the way and let the scorers to their thing. A sad parody of a real pro basketball game. I don't get the point of playing such a game in the first place. Nobody is there to play defense, that would require some effort, and hey, we're all here to party, really, correct?

What do you think of Kerr as a head coach? I know what I think, he is probably glad he took this job instead of the Knicks! 😛 😉

Steve Kerr won the NBA championship his first year as a head coach and he had NO prior coaching experience. Then his second year his team set the NBA record for wins in a season. Now the Warriors have the best record in the league for the third year running while Kerr has managed roster upheaval and a new superstar and blended the players together into yet another scary machine.
And you ask me what I think of Kerr as a head coach?

Sorry not trying to get your ire up or upset you. I think sometimes statements can come across the wrong way on the internet.
I have nothing against Steve Kerr as a coach. I thought he was a great player and I really liked him teamed with Reggie as an analyst.
The NBdivA is a players driven league. I think a few coaches can make a difference, but more so its ran by the players for the most part. He walked into a situation where the team was built and ready to win, and good for him. That's a great situation to have. Luke Walton was the coach a good part of that season and the team flourished under him also. It got him a head coaching job.
Is he a great coach? Remains to be seen.
Maybe you can explain , " has managed roster upheaval" I guess I missed something there.
I have a brother in law that is a huge Bulls fan and always praised Phil Jackson. Phil had two teams with world class NBA players. I always wanted to see him go to a team that was maybe .500 or a little below and turn it around. I would not expect him to repeat what he did in LA and Chicago, but to make a difference coaching wise to elevate a team from what it once was.
Ist always good I guess to have a few elite players on your team. That's what the league has became for the most part in the West.
Rumors here in Indy today, Magic is trying to get Paul George to come out there. Not sure I would go to the West and try and win a NBA championship there. It's to top heavy . You would have a better chance to compete her in the East in the near future than out there.
This is nothing against Steve Kerr at all. Just an observation and my opinion about coaching and the current state of the NBA. It could apply to others.

Members of 20115-2016 Warriors who are no longer with the team:
Andrew Bogut (C)
Festus Ezeli (C)
Anderson Varajao (C)
Maurice Speights (F)
Brandon Rush (F)
Leandro Barbosa (G)
All of those guys were contributors, particularly Bogut, Speights and Barbosa. In fact, those three guys won quite a few games for the Warriors last year when they set the season record for wins with 73.
New roster additions to the 2016-2017 Warriors:
David West (C, F)
Zaza Pachulia (C)
Javale McGee (C)
Damian Jones (C), rookie
Patrick McCaw (G), rookie
Briante Weber (G)
Yeah, I guess you DID miss something there.
And by the way, I was fairly certain you'd bring up Luke Walton, most people do. Yeah, he did a great job, in fact they started out 24-0 under him. But he was running the same system and the same substitution pattern that Kerr put in place. What choice did he have? Kerr was still the head coach, it was a medical leave only.
And look at the job Kerr has done THIS year. I know, I know.........he's got tons of talent to work with. History has shown that throwing a bunch of great players out on the court together does not always result in cohesiveness as a unit. For these current Warriors however, it has. I just don't think anyone has the firepower to stop them this year, including Cleveland.

Sorry it was just an honest question. Not trying to get you riled up.
I don't have the time to follow the bench players of the Western conference that much. 😛
A lot of teams go through those types of changes including the Pacers with they're bench. Thats nothing out of the ordinary these days. I thought when you meant upheaval, that means to me a pretty dramatic loss or change to the team like a star or 2 players being out. Alot of bench players are journey men . Nice pieces to compliment the starters. But they all move from team to team for a reason.
Things can get pretty toxic over here on the WP so I will agree to disagree.
Go Spurs! 😉 😉

Oh, and I forgot to mention another addition, a certain Kevin Durant. Not easy to blend four superstars together in one lineup: Durant, Curry, Thompson and Green. But under Kerr, the Warriors are doing it.
That's for sure -- however, they have hit a peak and been firing on all cylinders in his absence
now, GSW has to work KD back into the lineup -- by itself shaking up the 'chemistry' that fired said cylinders 😮
not that they haven't played well W/KD -- but they can't play any better than they have w/out him in there last 2-3 weeks or so
now he has to be accommodated when he returns today -- at this point of season, could have disruptive effect

Well now remember that last year they didn't have KD and they collapsed and blew a 3-1 series lead against the Cavs in the championship series.
Yes, they've been playing great, and that bodes well for the playoffs.
Yes, they've now got to work KD back into the lineup. Since they played with him for most of the season (and by the way had the best record in the league when he went out, just like they do right now) I don't see a problem putting him back in there.
Don't forget something: Bench players have had to step up in KD's absence, and they HAVE, notably Andre Igoudala, Javale McGee, James Michael McAdoo and Patrick McCaw. This could bode very negatively for the rest of the league as these guys are really feeling their oats going into the playoffs. Durant's absence likely has made the Warriors an even BETTER team than they were.
Steve Kerr knows what he's doing, he'll work Durant back into the lineup. If you want to put your $$$ on someone else to win the NBA championship this year other than the Warriors, I would take that bet right now. I don't think anyone can stop them and I also think they will need Durant against either San Antonio or Cleveland (or both, and to me it will likely be both).
