I thought Trump started well, and then it fell apart for him. I can't believe that when Clinton said the might not have paid any taxes his response was "That's because I'm smart." (Might not be an exact quote but close). Seriously, you just made Clinton’s case that the wealthy aren't taxed enough.

He provided fresh material for at least five new ads. Soundbites in perfect form.

Trump could have lost on bad hair alone. Dude, ditch the ratted out comb-over.......

Seriously, his bigotry flared at the end. Moderator asked Trump, "Earlier this month you said she doesn't have a presidential look. She's standing here right now. What did you mean by that?"
Trump: "She doesn't have the look, she doesn't have the stamina."

There you have it. A woman does not have a presidential look. And she TORE HIM IN HALF for it, as she should have.

I'm sorry, he came off as an angry buffoon. And a bigoted one.

HRC looked like an adult while Trump came off as a petulant child. She totally and thoroughly cleaned his clock. But it won't matter. And I'm still not voting for either of them.

I'm sorry, he came off as an angry buffoon. And a bigoted one.

He stayed true to himself. He presented who he is and isn't. He was out of his league last night. His birther responses & doubling down on the birther lies, explanations on his taxes, the 400 pound comment, holding back on personal stuff because of respect for Chelsea was present, etc., etc., etc. - were all weak moments for Trump.

He seemed very uncomfortable beyond after the first 20 or so minutues and was probably humming "Lord I was born a rambling man" because that's what he spent much of the night doing. He was not succinct in many of his answers...more just winging it and changing topic.

He talked about her stamina, but it appeared he wore down and his answers got weaker as the night moved forward.

She dangled catnip in front of him, and because he can't help himself, he bit everytime. He has the idea he always has to get in the last word even if it makes him look foolish.

He even brought in Rosie O'Donnell when he was baited into the misogyny statement at the end. He just delivered a first for Presidential debates. What a guy.

He continued his ongoing assessment of the dark side - how awful things are, the use of "disaster", the "worst" this and that. No different last night than on the campaign trail.

Did he really appear Presidential?

Will he do a little prep for the next debate or just wing it again because he knows best...on everything? Trump being Trump.

This is one time out of hundereds when your snark = reality. Do you really think he did an admirable job directly answering questions and showing depth of knowledge of subject matter?

If either of them win, we are in for some prison sex with no lube.

With all the finger pointing going on in this thread, I sure am glad I am not a co-defendant in a legal proceeding with any of you. Except for Sang, he rocks it.

I saw two seriousely flawed leaders who both looked like fools. It's sad that we're going to either have a child like Trump or a robot like Hillary. Enough has been said about Trump, but Hillary was difficult to stomach. Every ounce of her is fake. It took me hours afterwards to find a reason to vote for her, and the only reason I can come up with is that she won't lead us into more war. Good times!

I thought Trump hit Hillary pretty welll on her and Pres Obama record on the dismal jobs record. He landed some good points on tje emails, and the Iran deal, and DNC and Bernie. Thought he could of mentioned the word ransom payment in the Iran conversation. No mention of Benghazhi, Clinton foundation pay to play, and not enough on the email scandal. Hillary was solid and prepared.

All I heard from Trump tonight was:

This country sucks
She sucks
I'm amazing and I'll fix everything

If he wins, he'll eventually have to govern. Sure would like to hear how he actually plans on doing so.

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. I am deeply troubled by this election because I cannot vote for either one of the candidates on the stage last night. And, I know that the third party candidates have got a snowball's chance.

Will enough people cast votes for another candidate on the ballot that it will be a message to the two parties that they are losing the populace as a whole? Probably not. Business as usual, same old sh!t.

I thought the debate was fascinating.

If I didn't know a thing about either candidate and was seeing them for the first time last night I would have come away thinking that Hillary is a level-headed, experienced, and informed candidate with a plan for America and Trump is an obnoxious chump.

But since I do know more about each of them than what we saw at the debate I came away thinking that Hillary is a dishonest, experienced, and informed candidate with a plan for America and Trump is an obnoxious chump.

Took Coach Guiliani less than 10 minutes to say he shouldn't debate again.

Interesting that as Trump left the debate he said he thought he did well, Holt did a good job, the questions were fair, etc. Then overnight Trump was informed how poorly he did. So this morning he's saying Holt was unfair, bad microphone, softballs to Hillary, etc. Pretty funny really.

Being a Gary Johnson supporter, I had no intention of even watching. Nothing else on the tube, so I figured maybe there would be a few moments of (accidental) comedy courtesy of Donald Trump.

For me, it just turned out to be a snooze-fest. I yawned, blinked and zonked out more times than either candidate or the moderator. I ended up just turning it off at some point.

During the moments when I was awake I saw no "knock-out punch" delivered from either participant.

Do you prefer a crazy man over a lying sociopath? One of these clowns will most likely be our next leader. God help each and every one of us.

I know. God forbid people have opinions on stuff like Presidents.

The way I see it, there is a big difference between people going he did this, she did that, they did whatever than having a concise objective point of view. Ya know, just repeating what they heard someplace. The odds of so many individuals having the same opinion is pretty darn scary. People are so jaded and/or polarized, it's really sad as well.

Both parties talk out the side of their necks, some only hear what comes out of the left side, while others, it's the right side. There is plenty of blame to go around regardless of what little flag you wave at election time, the sign posted up in your front yard every November or some sticker plastered on the old bumper of the vehicle. Some just can't see past their own pseudo-intellectualized over valued opinion of themselves to see they are nothing but Lemmings being led over the side of the cliff. All the while one group saying, our way of going over the cliff is better for everybody. The other arguing the same point. If people could only shut up long enough, they might hear the part that says we are heading over a cliff. That will never happen.

If you are trying to tell me there's no difference between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, just like all those other times you're tried, you'll never convince me.

I watched every second of last night's proceedings, the things I posted are my own opinions. Can't speak for anyone else.

Yes, what they say at election time is different. What they do when it's al said and done is no different. Two sides of the same coin, it's right there for all who want to see it, can see it.
,
Been that way for decades. I'm sorry you cannot grasp the concept.

Kinda arrogant of you, Brother Jamez

Why is calling people on their B/S arrogant ?

In the 17 plus years, I've frequented this board and the old one. It has been the same ol crap. Just the names change with every election cycle. Be it those running for office or those on this board foaming at the mouth with innuendo, platitude, or insult. It is so predictable.

Yeah, I've been saying this same ol crap for years as well. So who am I to say anything, right ?

I guess you've been caught up in what is important to you to miss that pattern. Only goes to show, when the majority perspective matches your own, you don't have to be blind to not see what is really going on.

These are the candidates that the people who voted in the primaries or at their states caucuses. You had a chance to have your voice heard. Did you vote? No? Then you have nothing to complain about.

LESTER HOLT: Candidate Trump, 15 years ago you called a Miss USA contestant "fat".....

Lester Holt did not refer to Drumpf as "Candidate Trump".

Lester Holt did not bring up Trump's comments about the Miss USA contestant. Hillary did. Here's the transcript:

CLINTON: You know, he tried to switch from looks to stamina. But this is a man who has called women pigs, slobs and dogs, and someone who has said pregnancy is an inconvenience to employers, who has said...

TRUMP: I never said that.

CLINTON: .... women don’t deserve equal pay unless they do as good a job as men.

TRUMP: I didn’t say that.

CLINTON: And one of the worst things he said was about a woman in a beauty contest. He loves beauty contests, supporting them and hanging around them. And he called this woman “Miss Piggy.” Then he called her “Miss Housekeeping,” because she was Latina. Donald, she has a name.

TRUMP: Where did you find this? Where did you find this?

CLINTON: Her name is Alicia Machado.

TRUMP: Where did you find this?

CLINTON: And she has become a U.S. citizen, and you can bet...

TRUMP: Oh, really?

CLINTON: ... she’s going to vote this November.

TRUMP: OK, good. Let me just tell you...

Holt asked the wrong candidate about birtherism, a vital issue. But why ask Trump when the very founder of the movement was standing directly to his left?
