The American People choose The Republican Congress over obama:

Gallup: GOP Congress More Popular Than Obama

by John Nolte 12 Nov 2014, 6:38 AM PDT

Not soon after his media-enabled reelection, when President Obama's poll numbers almost immediately began to crater, the media narrative shifted to the steady drumbeat of, "But the approval rating for Congress is much lower." That spin was obviously directed at Republicans, who controlled Congress. Although "congress" can mean both the Democrat-controlled Senate and the House, this was a nifty rhetorical trick the media used to argue that the GOP was in worse shape than Obama.

That lie was not only laid bare in last week's midterm elections, where Republicans at every level of government crushed Democrats (and their media cheerleaders) in a tidal wave that hit blue and purple states, but also in new polling numbers from Gallup that shows GOP lawmakers currently enjoy a higher approval rating from the American people than President Obama.

As things stand today, Republicans in Congress enjoy a 42% approval rating. Obama, on the other hand, sits at a 39% approval rating. His disapproval rating sits at a whopping 56%.
When asked by Gallup who should have more influence over the direction of the country, a majority of Americans chose Republicans in Congress over Obama by a whopping 56-36% margin.

22% of the voters voted Republican. 64% stayed home. Why is that? I believe people are tired of partisan politics.

So what?

The American People want The Republicans to run the government and reject obama and the democrats.

That says it all!

I know how you base all of your comments on opinion polls. But you seem to lack the skill to determine what these numbers mean. I guess since approval ratings are what you base things on, the winning ticket for 2016 will be George Clooney and Taylor Swift. 😛

I believe its impossible to know what people who don't care to express themselves feel, and arrogant to assume.

But you seem to lack the skill to determine what these numbers mean.

Statisticians would tell you its mathematical fact that a sample size of 36% (the total percentage that voted) is quite predictive of the whole. That's the only "skill" that tells us anything relevant about this question. Spin away!

That's exactly what I was thinking. If you believe a sample size of 54,000,000 is not indicative of the nation's sentiment as a whole, there are probably some Statistics courses available in your area.

Come to Maine! Always above average in voter turnout, and led the nation in the midterms with 59.3%

Meh, the conservatives here have not had much to brag about these past 8 years so let's not piss in their cornflakes and let them enjoy their hollow victory. The White House is where the power is and have to say I like Hilliary's chances at this point for 2016.

Oh well, the liberals still lost at every level of government.

The People have chosen The Republicans to run both houses of Congress, 31 State Governorships and the majority of state legislatures.

Once again, 64% did not vote. The peoples voice was silent.

Yeah, that is pretty funny coming from you, the authority on everything. I expressed an opinion based on the turnout, the opinion polls about government in general and what I have seen expressed on the news and political talk shows. Arrogant? No, just an educated opinion.

Yeah...when I read his post I don't know where the whole "arrogant" thing came from. I never read anything in your original post to warrant that response.

obama himself claimed the election was all about his policies.
It the liberals are so in the tank for his policies, why didn't they come out and vote?
Are the people to assume the liberals do not support obama's policies?

Keep moving the goal posts.... Illinois has had a democrat as governor since 2003 ... Quinn was not a strong candidate and was more a victim of state pension funding than anything to do with Obama - and Rauner bought the election with his own money - almost $26 million - we will see how he will reduce taxes and increase spending on schools at the same time ... and he is already in trouble....

Illinois' Governor-Elect May Have Violated A Major Campaign Finance Rule

Illinois Governor-elect Bruce Rauner accepted more than $140,000 worth of campaign donations from executives affiliated with firms in which Illinois pension systems have investments, according to documents reviewed by the International Business Times. The campaign donations flowed to Rauner despite state and federal rules designed to prevent pension investment managers from donating to candidates for public offices that oversee state pension systems. As governor, Rauner will now appoint the trustees who oversee Illinois’ pension investment decisions.

It is just so much fun!
When i can demonstrate the failures of obama and the liberals agenda the only reaction from the liberals is the usual blame Pres. Bush, The GOP this, The GOP that (all usually mischaracterizations and outright lies.

But that is all y'all have. i don't see posts defending obama's policies, why Hillary should be elected and so forth.

The empty rhetoric from the liberals here adds nothing to the discussion and that is sad. One would think some liberal could craft an intelligent argument but so far... nothing.

But do keep trying, I always enjoy the comedy.

Let's see, Obama ended two wars, the economy is recovering, unemployment is down, the stock market is at an all time high and bin Laden is dead. Obama has done all of this with a Republican HOR who blocked everything he tried to do.
Muleman's response is about his failed policies. But he can't verbalized them or defend his position. The only empty rhetoric is mule boy's. The gift that keeps on giving. 😛

1. We lost the two wars
2. It always does
3. As measured by people leaving the workforce
4. The market loves gridlock
5. Bin Laden is indeed deceased

We need a course correction. It's not all Obama's fault, but we're better than this.
