I think it's funny. It shows a lack of imagination, but it's a good deal better than "hope and change." Now all the Democrats need is a few candidates who aren't in the geriatric ward. 😉

Half of Trump's original message could've been said by a Democrat candidate. No conventional Republican had ever made such an argument against free trade deals and the importance of American manufacturing while lambasting the likes of Mexico and China for taking our jobs.
I think the Democrat platform and message got too focused on niche and specialty issues important to minorities but not important at all to what had been large parts of their voting base and it cost them in historical blue stronghold counties and states.
Trump may've flipped some of the message in his favor, it isn't surprising that the Democrats will try to seize that back.
The only problem is that those voters were disillusioned with those Democrats since like pretty much any politician, they say one thing on the campaign trail, then once in office the corporations control the real action as usual.
Democrats failed them. Trump talked big and hasn't delivered. Where should they turn next?

The Democrats are pushing for raising the national minimum wage to $15 an hour. Then they will compromise to try to get it passed if they can get $12. They are trying to get people behind them and claim that they are doing good things. They may actually do some good things, but they want to erase national borders and national sovereignty and that will not preserve freedom and a national identity.
Who wanted the US to take in all those Syrian refugees? The Democrats.
Who protested against the law restricting immigrants coming here from the countries such as Syria, Iraq, etc.? The Democrats
Who wanted the North American Union, erasing the borders between Canada, the US and Mexico? That was an idea put forth under democratic administration, though it might have started during the Bush years.
