Interesting take, but is it thin skin? Some may characterize what others call toughness and standing up for yourself.
Yes, tweeting tantrums from your phone because Saturday Night Live made fun of you is such an admirable feat of resistance and strength.
Why not fire back? Fair is fair. SNL will be OK. If his tweets bother you, don't read them.
You can't possibly seriously believe this. I know he's ya boy right now, but every President gets criticized and takes their lumps. But Trump doesn't lash out at the content, he lashed out at people personally. It's not that what Meryl Streep said was wrong or he disagreed with her, it's that she's an overrated actress. This is some petty stuff. And he's the President, not some annoying relative in your feed, people should be paying attention to what he says. This isn't just petty, it's dangerous when the President personally attacks people and organizations who disagree with him. It's beneath the office.
Ohh...the drama!
Very good perfomance!!
Alloak is basking in his victory of having the thread be about him.

He's soon to be the President of the United States. I'm a citizen, pay my taxes, vote and follow the laws. Until guys like you join the thought police and start silencing dissent, comments are free.
Two different Americas, you all got what you want. Time to live it.
1. Except if you're Donald Trump? There's hardly a line of guys like me lining up for the thought police. I have thought for some time though that Trump consults a panel of liberals to ensure that any statements he makes (or where he makes them) is liberal-approved. They seem so upset and nobody wants that.
2. Time to live it? Is there some other choice?

Ah, ok, great, sarcasm. The last refuge...
alloak, you recently said this of Obama, making a big stink about an offhand remark from a lame duck President who has shown incredible grace during an ugly transition:
It's hard to remember a more disagreeable transition, with the outgoing President (and his wife) out making disparaging remarks about the election winner. Not very classy. He's acting like an a bitter man with A score to settle on his way out.
Obama can be an oak for 8 years, and you jump on him for saying one thing (that is probably true) but Trump acts like a butt-hurt 13 year-old girl every day, it's all "ooooh fire back!". Make up your mind, maybe try holding Presidents to the same standard.

No problem. We'll see how Trump handles the transition to his replacement eight years from now. We'll see then how he handles it, hopefully more like the Bush's and less like the Obama's.
Maybe you need to make up your mind. Obama the Oak has taken more swipes than you can count at both his predecessor and his successor, not very Presidential or Statesmanlike. Now you all whine and complain that Trump is not acting Presidential. Why the sudden concern now?
Make up your mind. Maybe try holding Presidents to the same standard.
The thin skinned President Elect will go after anyone and everyone who questions or challenges him. No doubt he will never be seen as statesman; moreso the antithesis of what we consider a statesman.
Interesting take, but is it thin skin? Some may characterize what others call toughness and standing up for yourself. By your measure, Bush had double-Rhino skin because he sat there like a human punching bag, took it, and rarely if ever responded. Well, you couldn't stand Bush either so what does it matter? No matter what the response (or lack thereof) it's going to be wrong in your mind. SSDD.
Now, let's talk demographics!
And I'm looking forward to more of your predictions!!
Well, your characterization & your words ("you couldn't stand Bush either") of how I felt about Bush is right up there with the best of the embellishment of Lying Donald. I had differences with Bush's actions & policies on balance, but had a good amount of respect for him as our President. He is a decent man.
On the other hand, Trump is a pig of a human being with his statements about women, his mocking the disabled, his actions on the campaign trail to incite crowds in very ugly ways. He is an exceptionally self centered individual. He is better suited for the WWE than the White House.
I hope you get what you voted for. If you have respect for Trump, the man and the values he has shown to the American public thus far, then that says plenty about you.

I'm far less concerned about what Trump says than others (particularly liberals and the PC crowd.) He's probably said a few things I probably wouldn't say, but he talks like a regular guy out on the golf course or locker room would. If you are bothered by that, that's certainly up to you. I'm not. If that makes me a bad person, so be it.
What DOES concern me is what he and his team can do to get this nation back on track and live up closer to our potential. That's what I care about! As far as predictions go, I'm sticking by my belief that Trump will be a surprise on the upside.
We can make this simple and just follow this guide for the next 4 years.
If a news organization says something bad about Trump, regardless of whether or not it is true, they will automatically be refered to by Trump and his followers as fake news, unfair, unreliable or similar. Trump will also be playing the victim. Under no circumstance are you to believe anything bad about Trump.
If a celebrity says something bad about Trump, he or she will be referred to automatically by Trump and his followers as overrated, unfunny, ugly, fat or similar. Trump again will be playing victim and encourage his followers to trash that celebrity at every opportunity.
Only news organizations and celebrities who heap praise on Trump will be considered legitimate. They are the only reliable news organizations and celebrities with rising careers. Only trust those who speak highly of Trump. Bonus points to newspapers who have decided to ban the word lie when talking about Trump. That word may only be used when referring to Democrats or one of those Republicans who don't agree with Trump.
This concludes your lesson on how to brainwash your followers. Please collect your Make American Great Again hat on the way out.

What you have laid out is merely an extension of the way things already are, and have been.
You forgot though, that any perceived scandal will automatically be classified as a "witch hunt" or a "fake scandal." That shouldn't change either.

Really? I don't remember Obama tweeting about Ted Nugent when he said mean things about Obama, complaining of unflattering dispictions of him in the media, or calling news organizations he doesn't like fake news on a daily basis. Heck, he barely mentioned the whole birther BS. But yeah, same thing.

How many times is Obama on the record complaining about FOX News? Twenty or thirty? What about talk radio and complaining about Rush Limbaugh? Obama constantly complained about the media and "cable chatter."
When you posted that maybe you were thinking about Bush, who never complained. Obama sure did.

If Obama is it 20 or 30 times in 8 years, that still wouldn't even be as many times as Trump has, and Trump hasn't even taken office yet.
Obama certainly didn't ask for a safe place like Trump did.

The media is a joke. Trump is leading a crusade against them and they deserve every bit of the criticism they get, and most of the American people have signed on. Trump might be the best thing that ever happened to them should they decide to start rebuilding their own trustworthiness and credibility. When Trump calls out the media, the only folks that get upset are the ones that hate him anyway.

Obama went on record stating he disagreed with FOX News, and constantly had to counter their perpetuating untruths of the birthers and that he is a Muslim. He never publicly called them fake. He also never blamed them for something Buzz Feed did. But you criticize him for that.
Here is a quote:
"Look, as president, I swore to uphold the Constitution, and part of that Constitution is a free press. We've got a tradition in this country of a press that oftentimes is opinionated. The golden age of an objective press was a pretty narrow span of time in our history. Before that, you had folks like Hearst who used their newspapers very intentionally to promote their viewpoints. I think Fox is part of that tradition — it is part of the tradition that has a very clear, undeniable point of view. It's a point of view that I disagree with. It's a point of view that I think is ultimately destructive for the long-term growth of a country that has a vibrant middle class and is competitive in the world."
Pretty level-headed, he disagrees with their viewpoint. He doesn't claim they are illegitimate.
Now here is Trump the other day:
"I think it's a disgrace, and I say that, and that's something that Nazi Germany who have done and did do," he said.
"I think it's a disgrace that information that was false and fake and never happened got released to the public. As far as BuzzFeed, which is a failing pile of garbage, writing it, I think they're going to suffer the consequences. They already are. And as far as CNN going out of their way to build it up
"Your organization is terrible. Don't be rude. No, I'm not going to give you a question. You are fake news," Trump responded, before calling on a reporter from Breitbart...
If you are saying those are in the same ball park, you should just admit that you don't really care about the "what", only about the "who". And true, George W. Bush has not responded to Trump calling him a liar.

Contextual whining here. This notion only applies because you and the rest of the rightists will not tolerate any criticism or questioning of anything you or your leaders do. How about that Jason Chaffetz? Your kinda guy, right? Threats to subpoena the ethics watchdog. No criticism allowed of Trump.
If CNN or the NYT broke a story today with evidence of criminal wrongdoing of Hillary Clinton, you'd be one of the first to post the link as the story would be 100% gospel.
Folks, if you meet someone who says they view Obama as the whiny unprofessional one over someone like Trump, Just view them the same way you'd view any other crazy kook you see wandering the streets. You'll be much better off.
I would like to think that this is just another example of Trump throwing a whiny tantrum when our thin skinned snowflake in chief doesn't get his way. Unfortunately, I think it may be deeper than that. The firsf step to be a dictator is to control the press. Since Trump knows that the Constitution allows for a free press, he has to go about controlling the press in other ways. He already has his supporters on board defending him against anything bad being said against him. We've just now started to see Trump's plan to discredit anyone who criticises him. He will try to use the courts next (after he loads the courts with his people). Pay attention folks, as this is the beginning of your freedom being chipped away. All hail Emperor Cheeto, or to jail with you.

I play cards with some of my neighbors - some of them overtly racist and some would be in the dictionary under 'entitled'. Over the years they have baited me with anti-Obama stuff.
We played last week, first time since the election. They brought up politics, said Obama was the 'worst president ever'. When I tried to respond, I was told by the most entitled person to 'shut up, we won, you are outnumbered 5-1'..... although I knew the guy next to me wasn't on their side.
The next 4 years are going to be interesting, since we no longer get to have an opinion on anything.... 😛

Nice.neighbors. Shut up you are outnumbered. That's real polite.

Why? This network is morphing into the screaming lunatic standing on the streetcorner constantly yelling "Trump is bad" . Until they try reporting just the facts, there is no reason to tune in, except for some enjoyment of fresh -squeezed liberal tears.

I think I'd find a more broad minded group to hang with. Seems like your neighbors have attended one too Trump rallies & have been emotionally amped up. Remember, your views don't matter. Or you could try passing the pipe, and maybe it would help level them out.

Should CNN strive to be more like FOX or Breitbart? How many predatory and unwanted sexual advances would CNN have to strive for in settled cases to rise to the level of FOX success?
No question - FOX and Breitbart are bastions of facts. 😛

Even Trump has asked his followers to tune into CNN, like when they interviewed his wife or when they reported that his poll numbers were up. He only dislikes them when they speak bad of him. You need to pay more attention to when Trump likes or dislikes something because it will change all the time. Trump will like them again when they say something good about him. Then you can feel free to tune into them again with Emperor Trump's temporary blessing.

The current embarassing behavior of the dems is having a negative effect. They are setting such a poor example whinning, blaming others, not being held to account for their ethical lapses and election rigging. Its best to lay low for now until they grow up and act like adults. Until then, i wouldnt expect any reasoned debates at your poker table. Man up and accept the election ..

Speaking of whining and blaming others, Trump is continuing to but on a clinic on how to whine and blame others. I guess Goober is telling the Democrats that if they want to see how to learn the ins and outs on how to be a whiny baby they should pay attention to master Trump.
OMG!!!!! Obama haters were right all along! It turns out they weren't just whining little paranoid babies after all. Obama really DID Islamatize America. I've been forced by police to convert to Islam. And I had a permit to own a gun, but a SWAT team came and took them away from me without due process. They were right!
