Your July 4th and Summer time playlist , music listening

For my July 4th cookout, party celebration music mix ,Jeff Healys jazz stuff and a mix of American Patriotic music. That has been my go to for the last few years. This year with the playlist above I am going to add Harry James(jazz big band trumpet player),Louis Prima,Louis Armstrong. I really enjoy all that music and plus the age demographic of the crowd it seems to fit the bill. I will break out the Monster Magnet after everybody leaves!!
As far as my summer listening I have 2 standard playlists of the following I use during these months
The first one is a mix of
Mellencamp- small selection from the 90's, but mostly from the 2003 on. I prefer his later stuff. No 80's
Johnny Cash-The American recordings
Bob Dylan -Selections from 1993 till current
Steve Earle-Selections 1995-to current
The other is a mix of just some random artists that I threw together that I thought fit pretty good. Gary Applegate(local blues) Rev Peytons Big Damn Band,The Mighty Jeremiahs,Mississippi Sheiks,Ron Barany(local/regional artist).
Last year I made a live ABB mix of the 70's of non Duane and Berry
This year I made a mix of Clapton from 2001 and on.
I have started using YouTube Music and Chris Smither Radio has been good so far.
Of course Listen to other things , but these playlist I usually fire up if I am outside grilling, hanging out with company or doing some yard work.

Thanks!!! Hendrix playing the National Anthem, probably one of the greatest moments in RNR.
Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

@jszfunk Yes it is hard to top that for RNR guitar. I only got to see Jimi once. He opened for The Monkees just before he got real big. Don't remember him playing it that night.
When the Woodstock movie and album came out I thought it was uncontrolled noise and for someone on acid. But someone said to me " No man that entire thing is the work of a genius. All of that was carefully executed by Jimi. You hear the sounds of war. Listen for the dive bombers followed by the bomb it just dropped exploding. This is way beyond anything Chet Atkins or Eric Clapton can do! This is the work of a genius and innovator."
Guess he was right. Maybe it continues to be unsurpassed.
Not long ago I was reading an interview with Ginger Baker and he related how Jimi Hendrix was invited to sit in with Cream just before Clapton and a lot of people knew who he was. After they played, Clapton left the stage apparently before the last song ended. Back stage when Baker got there he said Eric was shaking and trying to light a cigarette but shaking so he struggled to light it and when their road manager walked in Clapton said " Why didn't you tell me he was that ******* good!!?
On the Army Field Band I thought the lady conducting has such a pretty face and smile. Plus the band was flawless.

Well just found this video relating that very story about Jimi getting on stage with Cream. Ginger and Jack talk about it.

On of the most respected drummers in the world is Steve Gadd!!!
Here is Steve when he was a member of the Army Field Band plus a decent electric guitar solo....FROM THE ARMY!!!
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!
