The sheer joy at TTB shows, from the band as well as the folks receiving their music, is medicine. Wish i was there tonight. I'm sure that tonight in particular they are serving up the healing.

What a beautiful night of music.

The band came out and after a brief warm up, launched right into Statesboro Blues. Chills up and down the spine.

To close the set, they brought out Luther Dickinson. Susan thanked fans for their support for Derek over Butch's passing. The band launched into Liz Reed. Perfect version, which I'm assuming Luther had just learned that day.

It was a special night, and I hope it was as therapeutic for Derek as it was for us.

Thinking about DT and the Trucks family. Would love to hear last nights set, especially Statesboro.

Thank you for the info from last nite. That must have been something. I bet Luther's known how to play Liz Reed since he was a kid. Him & Cody have mentioned LAFE was one of their favs from childhood. Perfect person to help Derek play thru the emotional roller coaster the last couple days have been. Might Cody have also joined?

some NMAS, Mean Ol' Wind Die Down, starts slow but then takes off nicely. it's even got an Allman-esque light & vid show going as well.

That had to be powerful. I saw Susan the last time we lost a brother, the day Allen Woody passed (the Allmans had played the same festival the night before). It was one of those performances you don't want to see, but you never forget.

Cody joined on the song before Liz Reed. Not sure of the title. This was my first TTB show. I consider myself fortunate to have witnessed an emotional night like that.

I've been seeing the Allstars since forever. Before they were even NMAS. I caught up with Cody briefly after the show. I feel blessed to see two of my favorite guitarists share the stage, and on top of that, at such a time of emotion for everyone on stage.

...and on "Statesboro,"..........no back up singers or horns.......just two guitars, keyboards, bass and two drummers.....just like the original lineup.....nice.
