I saw yesterday that he passed away during a Boston show. What a bummer, and he was their original drummer.

Makes you wonder what will happen with the upcoming tour, the local shed date with Joan Jett opening goes on sale this weekend I believe.

Many great drummers out there, I'm sure they will sign someone else on for the tour fairly quickly. I did see Boston two or three years ago, they toured as headliner with The Doobie Brothers and Don Henley. I would never go to see just Boston, I'm not a fan, but I will admit they were pretty good live and their new vocalist was hitting all the notes.

Sib passed away during a gig on a classic rock cruise, but it wasn't a Boston show. He has not been a part of Boston in 35 years. The current Boston is Tom Scholtz and other musicians (none played on any of the first 3 Boston albums).

RIP Sib.

that's not true. gary pihl has been in boston for over 30 years and played on at last 1 song on the bands third album. I think the rest was already finished when he joined

Very sad & RIP, Sib Hashian
their first record was all the shit, and should've been -- heavy-metal instrumentation matched to CSNY-ish harmonies -- Brad Delp did some kind of work on that album as did Tom Scholz -- it remains brilliant to my ears

even by music-industry standards, it became grotesque-nasty in later years with lawsuits, Brad Delp's passing, ensuing godawful court proceedings -- a Boston paper reported extensively on it

We used to call him Sid Hashish.

Sid hated Scholtz and wouldn't even join the other old members when they played an encore at a Boston show as he didn't want to be on stage with Tom.

RIP R&R Afro
