I've always enjoyed the Brian Howe era of Bad Company. I was fortunate enough to see them twice with Brian Howe. I also saw Brian Howe once with Ted Nugent and twice solo. I always thought he had a great voice, and it was unfortunate that the majority of the setlist on his solo shows were Bad Company songs from the Paul Rodgers era instead of his own era. I also had the pleasure of meeting him once and he was very nice and gracious. RIP

This is really sad. My all-time favorite vocalist is Paul Rodgers. I love Bad Company. Having said that, Brian Howe was awesome in Bad Co. When he joined them I was not quite sure what to make of it. I wanted to hear bad Co. but without Paul I wasn't sure.

Well, Brian Howe did an amazing job. The albums I really like are the second, third and fourth studio releases, Dangerous Age, Here Comes Trouble and Holy Water (especially that one).

The next one, What You Hear is What You Get is a good live album. And it does have a fair amount of Paul Rodgers songs on it. One thing I always gave Brian credit for was being able to sing old Bad Co. songs in Paul's voice because they really don't sound that similar to me.

I recall Mick Ralphs & Simon Kirke took issue with him labeling himself as the former lead singer of Bad Company, which he was. Didn't look it up but I recall a lawsuit.

One of my favorite concerts was in the early 90s. Bad Company, Damn Yankees and Drivin' n Cryin' as the opener. I think Bad Company & Damn Yankees traded off on who headlined but given the fact that I saw them in Detroit, Damn Yankees were last. And of course he had that connection with Ted Nugent. That album they did together is pretty good.

God rest his soul.

I won tickets to see that BadCo - Damn Yankees summer tour. Damn Yankees went on first. With their energy, they were hard to follow. I think I have the Nugent album that Brian was the lead singer on somewhere in my big stack. RIP. 66 is way too young.

Very underrated singer in my opinion. Love Bad Company and Paul Rodgers. Paul and Brian hated each other.

Didn't know that. I have no idea but Paul has been on and off with them for years and years.

Yeah it would be difficult to follow The Damn Yankees. They were that good. Too bad they didn't carry on. I think they recorded a third album that was never released for some reason.

Tied Up In Love

He sure could sing. Sounded quite a bit like Paul Rodgers here at least I thought so at the time and that was before Bad Company.

Matt -

I am really surprised by this. I knew they recorded a third album but I thought it was recorded right after the second one. Didn't know it was years later. I would LOVE to have a copy of that. Smile
