Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

I've always wonderer why JM didn't do a greatest hits Live CD of his late 70's and early 80's material. IMO, it would have been as popular at the lime as a live Bob Seger or Journey CD.
I know he has done several live CD's recently, and I enjoy them, but I'm thinking about a radio greatest hits live type CD. (Cherry Bomb, Small Town, Jack and Diane, Rockin' in the U. S. A., etc)
The shows I saw back then were great!

Just out of curiosity, what years do you consider the 2nd act. The 90's and beyond?
Aerosmith came back in a big way in the 80's and part of the 90's. Santana with Supernatural.

starting around the album human wheels. i meant from an artistic standpoint.
Yeah , I agree but maybe on "Whenever We Wanted" for me. I noticed a difference for sure. This was his first release without guitarist Larry Crane. David Grissom came in for a few and then Andrew York since then.
Growing up here in Indiana , obviously, his music was in HEAVY rotation on the radio. I really never gotten into him till after his 80's heyday. Whenever We Wanted was his first one that I bought and owned of his catalog. Through the 90's and early 2000's he was kind of hit or miss on what I liked from him. What really brought him back onto my radar was "Life, Death, Love and Freedom" and "No Better Than This". Those two are my favorites from his catalog and I feel as complete album, probably his two best since the 80's. Not saying there were not some good releases, but top top bottom, they are hard to beat. I think T Bonet Burnett had something to with that I believe.
