To whom it may concern,

As a fan of ABB for 40+ years, the thought of you guy's charging $100+ dollars for a poster of the Eat A Peach image is a disgrace.

Put both images on one poster - charge $24.00 and sell it to the world. Check out Vista Print when you are able.

There is more to the story than you may know. Quite a considerable sum of money was spent on legal fees regarding this artwork. However, I do agree with you that, if you don't take the legal fees into consideration, the price is too high. While there is only so much HTN can do, we will lower the price and refund the difference to anyone that has purchased it.

How many of these posters are being made? Are they signed & numbered by Flournoy Holmes? Are they a screen print? Why isn't there more info on the webiste when you go to purchase them?

We made 1,000 of these posters. They are not signed nor numbered. They are lithographs printed on 100 pound paper. What additional information would you like?

Thanks for the reply. Did Flournoy finally give the OK to print these?

Not to be ... argumentative. "Disgraceful", come on, that's extremely arbitrary. How does the individual who characterized the price of this poster know anything ... about legal fees, printing costs, quality of paper, quality of the ink, etc... HTN is, imo, an ethical and a great retail organization. They are not going to try rake fans over the coals. Their fan base is their retail base.

I would have said something along the lines of... This is a little salty for my taste... ? Joe said he thought the price was high and offered some resolution.

I like that HTN did this project, as well as the Duane & Berry tee, and others.

As an artist, I'd say the price is completely fair. This isn't a mass-produced poster that you find in a college poster shop, this is a limited run quality printing of a beautiful piece of artwork. If you want a beautiful piece of artwork to hang on your wall, you are going to have to pay for it. Yes, this piece of artwork also has legal fees that go with licensing it, but it is still a completely reasonable price for a small merchandising business to kindly offer. If that is too expensive, you can always find an actual album at a used record store and hang that.

Legal fees - the artist should be compensated for his work! From what I understand (and PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong), Flournoy Holmes wasn't exactly ... paid handsomely up front (time of release).

Quality - not to rip on vistaprint (too badly), but the ink on the business cards that they printed for me tend to smudge off in my wallet. Hard for me to imagine that they'd do as good a job on the poster as HTN.

Thanks guys - appreciate the comments! The posters (lithographs) turned out GREAT! I am really excited for you to see them.

We tried VERY hard to work out something between Flournoy (who I like and admire) and the ABB but it didn't happen and was not going to happen. Because the ABB owns the artwork (and has paid more than once for it via legal proceedings) the only way this was going to work was to do it ourselves...and that is what happened.

Here are the images (which you can't do justice to on a computer screen):

and here is the link to buy:
