Mick Bolton apparently died in his sleep yesterday and was the keyboard player for Mott The Hoople.

I was not a Hoople fan but had a girlfriend who was crazy daisy about them and went with her to a Mott The Hoople show. She was in orbit!!!!

I checked and Mick Bolton is not the same musician who was with UFO.

I liked Mott back in the day.  They were all great players - simple, straight ahead rock and roll.  I give them credit for trying to break the mold in developing (via their friendship/collaboration with David Bowie) the genre of "Glam Rock" - which quickly became imitated by many.  "All the Way to Memphis" ... "Once Bitten- Twice Shy" (covered by Great White), "All the Young Dudes" - some of the great tunes from that era.  I think the drummer died a few years ago and guitarist, Mick Ralphs (Bad Company) suffered a stroke a year or so ago.  I guess we're all gettin' old!  Those players from the 70's ... all in their 70s and droppin' like flies!  Great tunes - great memories!  Farewell to Mick Bolton.

You are correct Rusty, Dale Griffin the drummer died in 2016, and Pete Watts the bass player died in 2017. I got to see the classic ''Dudes ' line up in London and Glasgow, then the Ariel Bender line up a couple of years ago. Ian Hunter is a very underrated song writer.
