Marianne Faithful died today at age 78.

As a teenager she met Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones and moved in with Mick. When it was finally over she roamed the streets of Soho for years as a strung out heroin addict.

But before this happened she had part of a song and Mick and Keith Richards decided to finish the song by Andrew Oidham and after Mick and Keef finished the song, Jagger decided Marianne could record it for the lable the Stones were on, London Records, and it was a hit. The song was a huge hit single in 1964.

I liked the song a lot when I was on the radio in heavy rotation.

Here is Marianne Faithful (RIP) with "As Tears Go By" from 1964. Written by Jagger, Richards and Oldham

That was a fun tour.  First time I saw the band.  The best was their final show at Hampton Roads, VA in December that was simulcasted on HBO.  It was Friday and the last day of school before Xmas break.  It was quite the party!

@tenorsfan  Jim Morrison was, I guess one could say, out of control his entire life which sadly ended at age 27.
