Guitar Porn

That kind of guitar porn should really be blurred. Gibson hit them with a cease and desist.

Now, Gibson would do that with any company selling Les Paul copies to protect their IP but it's pretty brazen of Trump to slap his name on another scam product for his cult to give up their money at a time when they can't afford eggs, right?

Still not a Les Paul, but the Holy Grail of my guitar dreams ever since the first time I saw Ten Years After. I know that Chuck Berry and Freddie King played 345's, but this was as close as I could afford. I confess that I am not worthy, but nearing the age of 68 - a lot cheaper than a Porsche and a lot less trouble than a mistress.
There still might be a Les Paul n my future. Who knows?
Also doin' my part to help resurrect my favorite thread on this site!
... shoulda held out for one them Trump models! 😉

Congrats @rusty ! That's a great looking guitar.
That's funny, I'm actually looking at a 335 myself. I was playing a lot up until a year ago and took a big break from music, the band I was in kind of burned me out trying to get it to work.
I had always dreamed of getting a 335, but just couldn't justify it, my Les Paul and SG were fine and I never wanted to be one of those guys with 15 guitars he never plays. Plus they are pretty expensive, I didn't want to get a cheap imitation.
Just recently got the bug to do some research on 335s since I buy online a lot. Played one the other day at a GC and it played and sounded amazing. So I may be sharing a photo soon as well...
Enjoy the new axe.

Also - His Orangeness signing a guitar ... a little like me signing the Declaration of freakin' Independence!

@rusty I figured in times like these, we need solidarity. So today I bought an ES-335. Even got one with block inlays to prove I mean it!
I had been doing some casual research online regarding specs and the ads that invites softened me up. I found one that checked all the boxes and when I looked closer, it was at the Guitar Center 25 minutes from me. Rather than trying to sneak it into the house, the wife went with me and found it on the peg before I did. I think this is the best guitar I have ever played.

@porkchopbob That's a beautiful guitar!
I had been shopping for the past year. I am guilty of (almost) over-studying/shopping. I got waaay deep into minutia of details, specs etc. One of those cases where every time I learned something - I realized there was more that I didn't know. I tend to do this a lot - but that's another story. I found a blonde (natural) one that as you say, checked all the boxes. This was going to be the one. When I offered what I thought was a fair price, the guy told me that another buyer had already made an acceptable offer.
I found the "tiger red" model a week or two later. It also checked all the boxes (I wasn't being specific on color). An hour after I bought mine the guy called me back and said the new buyer had reneged on the deal and that the natural was back on the block.
I am quite happy with the model I ended up with - no remorse.
I did learn a lot about neck diameters - something I'd never even considered before. Mine has a rounded C neck profile. This turns out to be a better fit for my long fingers than a slim profile neck (like my Gibson Midtown has). I might've gotten real lucky on this!
I love that burst! And I mean that particular burst. No two look exactly alike and your's is amazing!
Happy picking!

@rusty It's looks awesome, love the classic cherry red over the blonde.
I had the same issue a few years ago, learned about the specific Gibson neck profiles when I bought my Les Paul. I was surprised to find it had the baseball bat fat neck, which I had never come across and didn't work for me. I quickly found a similar model that had the slim taper and sold the first LP. Makes the biggest difference if you can't get your hands on the guitar before buying it.
And yeah, I was blown away by the burst on this 335. I usually don't care about finishes, but this one looked particularly pretty. And it sounds even better.
