Slash Explains Why He Chose Gibson Les Paul as His Main Instrument: 'They're the Sexiest Guitars'
Strange video in that Slash doesn't show up until about 9:17 and then you can't hear the translation of the questions but can hear Slash's answers. It was still interesting to hear what he says if you are a fan.

Joe Bonamassa, a day in nerdville, buried in gear
I'm actually considering a Norlin era Gibson because I know and understand what those things are! Starting in the 90's - Les Pauls come in so many flavors and configurations (Classic, Traditional, Moderne - etc) that I really don't understand which model(s) are relevant to the designs of the 50's, 60's and even 70's. I do not want any fancy pull knobs or built in effects or robot tuners - nor do I want an LP with half of the weight of the original design removed. Sure, those older Les Pauls were heavy, but in those days guitar players were men ... and the sheep ran scared. Just sayin' stuff.Posted by: @bill_grahamI’d never buy one from the ’70s because I’ve always felt that there’s no such thing as a good guitar from that decade”: Robby Krieger on what makes his 1968 Gibson Barney Kessel special

Oh right...
@porkchopbob I actually read a comment from some sound engineer type a while back - said he could distinguish between the sound of a Strat with a single-ply pickguard and one with a double-ply. I scratched my head over that one, too. Guess I forgot to note the calendar today ... until I read your comment. Got me!
