A friend of mine sent me this yesterday, God bless his Soul. Now if this doesn't get the musicians in the crowd excited............well, I just don't know what else to do...........

Yes sir man. Got me feeling good on this Sunday morning. I bought the album this is on back in the 1970's. Texas Cannonball I think is the name. It's in storage with dozens of others as I don't have a turn table working right now.

I was lucky to see the Kings. Saw Freddie once, Albert twice and B B about eight times. Larry King on television but never saw him pick up a Gibson.

Dickey mentioned B B's vibrato as a big influence. Django Reinhart as another and Django's style of phrasing with two fingers led to coming up with the melody for Jessica while watching his daughter dancing around as a toddler.

But in one interview I remember years ago Dickey mentioned Freddie King was a big influence. I bought a couple of Freddie's records and on this video robslob linked, listen to Freddie's solo here. I hear licks that Dickey use to use a lot. Can you hear it?
