Fillmore East first pressing? And vinyl album collection talk

- How do I identify whether my album is a first pressing? The scribbles around the label? It's got pink labels. It belongs to my Dad. And will belong to me eventually. So? Any tips? Yes, it is well-used. It's been listened to thousands of times in the last 50 years...

Looks exactly like the one I bought in July 1971. Capricorn was still being distributed by Atlantic then. The next year Phil Walden moved his label to Warner Brothers.
That album has the best versions of Statesboro Blues, Must Have Did Somebody Wrong, In Memory of Elizabeth Reed and You Don't Love Me I've ever heard from the Allman Brothers. Kicks butt way down the street!!

How do I delete these pics above?
The HOLY GRAIL of albums for me. Thank you! He's got a few more. An original Duane & Gregg and an newer(late 70s?) pressing he bought so he could save the original, Anthology 1 & Anthology 2. ABB is Dad's favorite band and Duane, his favorite guitarist.
So much so that I share middle names with Skydog. Something I couldn't be prouder of. When I was a kid growing up in the 80s,i constantly got told that "you know we named you after Duane Allman of The Allman Brothers Band. The greatest guitar player to ever live." Back then, at 7/8/9 yrs old, it didn't mean much to me. It wasn't until I got older and searched out their music myself that I finally understood why my Dad loves them so much. Today, so do I.
And just to reiterate, today, I couldn't be prouder than to share middle names with Duane. He's the entire reason I started learning to play guitar 13 months ago, too. Specifically, it was his playing on 'Loan Me a Dime' that really hooked me. Still inspiring people over 50 yrs later. I own a Goldtop singlecut guitar today because of Duane & Dickey. It's not a Gibson but it's a fine, fine instrument nonetheless.
Thanks, yall. I really appreciate it! I had been, wondering about this for a while and I finally got my sister to bring his albums over yesterday so I figured I better find out what we've got. Thanks again!

Posted by: @robertdeeI think Duane is playing Dickey's SG here. Too blurry to be sure.
Man there was such energy blasting off the stage from H. Duane Allman. I use to wonder if his glass slide was going to melt.
Thank you for sharing that! I wouldn't doubt it one second. Duane was a force to be reckoned with. There will NEVER be another like him. That's for sure. To me, he's the best there's ever been. Better than Jimi, Eddy, all, of em.

@wound_up What is it an Epiphone?
I'm 74 and Duane did indeed play a Goldtop. Eventually he played a Sunburst but had the pickups in the Goldtop put in it. Last time I saw Duane play it was a tobaccoburst Les Paul. It had DUANE on the back of the body spelled with old frets. Duane played a Strat at Muscle Shoals.
Dickey was playing an ES-335 when he joined the ABB. By fall Dickey played a Stratocaster through spring of 1970 then Dickey switched to a SG. By later in 1970 Dickey decided he wanted a Les Paul too and bought one in Detroit. He then gave his SG to Duane and suggested Duane tune to for slide and make it a slide only guitar.
Dickey didn't like the Les Paul he bought in Detroit and went through several before he settled on Goldie Goldtop which was Dickey's number one to 1994.
I'm not sure which one it was but one of the Les Pauls wouldn't stay in tune and Dickey threw it across the stage when the last number ended. Red Dog said he picked it up and it didn't break so he put it back in Dickey's rack and the next day Dickey saw it there and beat it so hard into the stage floor it broke the neck off then he tossed it again. Red Dog said that time he picked it up and put it in the dumpster outside. Funny story:)

@robertdee it's actually an Indio 66 DLX Plus Goldtop from Monoprice.com
https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=610392
Full thickness, solid mahogany 1-piece body & mahog set neck
17.5mm thick carved maple cap
Bone nut
Rosewood fretboard with something like a 16.75" radius and what I would guess is a fat neck that I really like. I've only ever played my 3 guitars and 2 are Silvertone Strat clones with std Strat necks. This is definitely bigger.
24.725" scale
Alnico V pickups
Setup was perfect when I got it. Fret ends are rounded and polished. Action was perfect for me, also. TBH, I don't think I could've gotten a better guitar for the price. They're normally $249 +tax but I got mine on sale for 219 +tax & free shipping lol.
I also bought my 15w tube amp from them and it's just as great as the guitar. It's a Laney Cub 12R clone in a different cabinet and with a different reverb. Awesome amp for $250. Got it on sale for 219, also. It's got 3 12ax7s and 2 EL84s

I apologize if bumping my own thread is against the rules. I just went through and did a short list of some of the albums in his collection that my sister brought over on Friday. 85 albums total. I feel like there's a few missing. Stuff I remember seeing when I was a kid. That's where Fillmore East came from. She brought his stuff over a couple of days ago because I've been wanting to go through them all. He's got all sorts of stuff.
First 10 are Allman Brothers and solo Gregg albums, then Jimi Hendrix, BB & Freddie King, Clapton, The Blues Brothers album from '78, Bruce Springsteen, Buddy Emmons, Elvin Bishopx4, The Byrds, Charlie Daniels, Chuck Berry, Commander Cody, Dillard & Clark, Dire Straights, The Doors, Doug Sahm & Band, Earl Scruggs, Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff Walker, Jimmy Buffet, John Prine, Marshall Tucker Band, Rolling Stones, Ray Newman, Rita Coolidge, Rod Stewart, Spirit, Tom Waits, Van Morrison, Waylon, Jennings, The Who, Willie Nelson, and an album with Tommy Talton, B Stewart, & J Sandlin called 'Happy To Be Alive'. All sorts of stuff. Even an "Eddie & The Cruisers" album lol.
I can't wait to get his old turntable fixed and up & running again so I might possibly be able to listen to them. I need to get a new needle for it, some cleaning supplies, new inner and likely outer sleeves to protect them, a new brush, etc... I can't freaking wait! I'm so, so glad I didn't try to sell his albums when I was younger, in my "I'm a POS and trying to sell whatever I can for money" phase. Also known as drug addiction.
I
'd have never forgiven myself had I done that. These albums are/will be my prized possessions. Moreso than anything else I own. Even my guitars. I'll never let these out of my possession for as long as I live.

Yes you have a great collection of vinyl records. Lots of great listening. I have a stack too including ABB self titled which iI picked up in 1970 then bought Idlewild South, At Fillmore East, Brothers and Sisters, Laid Back, Highway Call, Win, Loose or Draw, The Gregg Allman Tour with special guest Cowboy and Wipe the Windows, Check The Oil, Dollar Gas when the came out. Most THE DAY they dropped.
