Hosted by Kid Rock (oh well) , it starts on September 8 at 9pm and features Cash related programming at various times that week.
The one thing that looks possibly good here, and I'm mentioning it so that anyone here who is interested is properly notified, is that on September 12th at 9pm, CMT will premier a new Johnny Cash documentary called (what else):
Johnny Cash: American Rebel
Here is a brief description of the doc, quoting from the CMT site:
***********************************************************************************************
Throughout the day on Sept. 12, CMT will encourage viewers to engage on social media about their favorite Cash moments and memories, and the excitement culminates when Johnny Cash: American Rebel that evening at 9 p.m. ET and encores at 11 p.m. and Sept. 13 at 1 and 7 a.m. ET/PT and noon, 5 and 9:30 p.m. ET/PT.
The film is captured through the unique perspective of his greatest songs, and combines original interviews with his friends and family featuring Eric Church, Sheryl Crow, Rodney Crowell, record executive Clive Davis, Merle Haggard, Kris Kristofferson, John Mellencamp, , producer Rick Rubin, Willie Nelson and others.
For the first time, Cash’s children, John Carter Cash and Rosanne Cash, along with June Carter’s daughter, Carlene Carter, will appear together in a film about Johnny Cash.
**********************************************************************************************
Considering that Cash's family is involved with this, as well as Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Rick Rubin, it might be worth a viewing. I'll be watching anyway...:)
