I just tix for the Town Hall in NY. Afro Cuban? They had crazy VIP prices before & after Row H (275+ & 150), Row H were $79 on Billy's merit I'll give it a go, but the Tex Mex/Spanglish has it's limits with me. If I can't speak the language it loses some of it's appeal. I like Los Lonely Boys and Santana, but there's beer break songs for me.

The ZZ Top singer says he was indoctrinated into Afro-Cuban music by "the real Mambo King," Tito Puente, who taught him the basics of Latin percussion when he was a kid. "That's stayed with me stridently albeit in a kind of suspended animation over time," he says.

I'm really digging Treat Her Right. Will have to give this album a listen when it comes out.

From PhilZone:
He only plated 2 zz songs. In your face raw ass bluesy rock-n-fuckin-roll!
One of the most powerful shows I have seen in 15 years, and I see a lot of shows.
3 drummers, organ, piano and Billy with 1 guitar with no fuckin whammy bars or peddles. In your face GREAT stuff.
I am not kidding when I say run don't walk to this one.
He is a cool fucker too.

Nothing really suprises or trips my trigger on this. Sounds like the same release ZZ top has been putting up for the last 20 plus years but with a latin top flavor. I kinda tuned Billy out after he plugeed his guitar into a computer.

Just listen to the first 3 ZZ release's..thats were its at.

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

Billy Gibbons brought his groove happy, percussion heavy BFG's to ACL Moody Theater in downtown Austin last week. Wow! What a fun show.

Even if you are not a Top fan this is some pretty cool stuff. Here is the local review:
