Best album cover....

Name a couple of albums covers that you think the artwork is great. I know there will be a lot of Yes album cover mentioned. Two that stick out to me are both by Traffic, Low Spark of High Heeled Boys and Shootout at Fantasy Factory. But EAP is also one fav because of its simplicity.

Supertramp- BREAKFAST IN AMERICA (1978)- New York breakfast skyline
Grand Funk- SHININ ON (1974)- 3D cover, with 3d glasses in the cover!
Big Brother/Janis- CHEAP THRILLS (1968)- Trippy underground artwork by R. Crumb
Byrds- NOTORIOUS BYRDS BROTHERS (1967)- That horse was supposed to be David Crosby!
Bob Dylan- JOHN WESLEY HARDING (1967)- A simple cover with native Americans during the time of psychedelia

Whether or not you like the album or the cover, Floyd's DSOTM is as iconic as you can get. One quick glance and you know the band and the album.

My favorite my be the import version of Electric Ladyland

I was about 11 or 12 when Molly Hatchet's self title album came out. I remember thinking that was the coolest album cover ever.

Yes Gail Collins; the female OJ. "My husband has hearing problems; didn't respond to my calls; so I thought he was an intruder so I shot him." Beautiful woman; so the jury bought it.

And re: great covers. For sheer simplicity and brilliance perhaps nothing tops the image of Mississippi Fred McDowell sitting on some worn wooden steps strumming a guitar with the words "I do not play no rock & roll" in small print

Jefferson Airplane's Long John Silver album. The album cover folded into a replica of a cigar box. When you opened the cover and lifted the image of the cigars it uncovered a photo of a box full of weed.
