Best album cover....

Name a couple of albums covers that you think the artwork is great. I know there will be a lot of Yes album cover mentioned. Two that stick out to me are both by Traffic, Low Spark of High Heeled Boys and Shootout at Fantasy Factory. But EAP is also one fav because of its simplicity.

Boston - first album
Rainbow - Rising
Grateful Dead - Shakedown Street
Doors - Strange Days
Blue Oyster Cult - Spectres

Father is the Child to the Man Blood Sweat and Tears, truly creepy.

Cheap Thrills

Led Zeppelin II - all the moving parts!
Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers - only cover with a functioning zipper
Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick - the entire newspaper parody thing!
Pretty much any of the Yes covers. Any other band that Roger Dean did the art for.

Frank Zappa Weasels Ripped My Flesh
Little Feat Waiting for Columbus
(Both done by Neon Park)
ABB - LAFE ( poster of this hangs on my wall )
ABB - Wipe The Windows...
Pink Floyd - Animals
MTB - Long Hard Ride
Little Feat - Feats Don't Fail Me Now
Grateful Dead - From The Mars Hotel
JJ Cale - Okie ( album framed hanging on my wall )
Wishbone Ash- Argus
Steely Dan - The Royal Scam
David Bromberg - Wanted Dead or Alive ( the back makes me laugh)
These are also some of my favorite albums as well lol .

Rolling Stones - "Satanic majesties request"
Little Feat - "Feats don't fail me now"
Quicksilver - "Happy Trails"
The Who - "Who's next"
Fleetwood Mac - "Mystery to me"

Blue Cheer -Outside Inside (if you like the inside of Eat a Peach, you'll enjoy this one too.

Carly Simon's No Secrets

It’s A Beautiful Day.
Stone the Crows has some good ones too.
On the risqué side, there’s Mom’s Apple Pie.

I always dug the humor of both front and back of "If You want blood, You've got it"............Peace........joe

Surprised with this many reply's that no one's mentioned Court Of The Crimson King yet...

Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd)
Very simple but I loved this when I was a young kid.
Ronnie looked like a total badass.

Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath had some great covers. For Floyd, I'm thinking the cover of Wish You Were Here and Animals, and for Sabbath, I love the covers of the Dio era band as well as the truly creepy cover of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.

One that comes to mind is the 3-D cover of Captain Beyond's first album.

Jefferson Airplane's Long John Silver album. The album cover folded into a replica of a cigar box. When you opened the cover and lifted the image of the cigars it uncovered a photo of a box full of weed.

Always thought Santana had some great album covers, particularly Abraxas and Santana 3.

Sgt. Pepper and We're Only In It For The Money

It was a more innocent time than now; that was almost pornography then

You are actually on a severe bum trip and this is the cover of "Are You Experienced":

The Doors- LA WOMAN (1971) original window cover
Bruce-Greeting from Asbury Park NJ (1972) postcard cover
Grand Funk Railroad- E Pluribus Funk (1971) coin cover
Jimi -ELECTRIC LADYLAND (1968) naked women cover, UK only
John Lennon- WALLS AND BRIDGES (1974)
Paul McCartney- BAND ON THE RUN(1973)
Cat Stevens did the artwork for several albums including:
TEA FOR THE TILLERMAN(1970)
TEASER AND THE FIRECAT (1971)
BUDHAH AND THE CHOCOLATE BOX (1974)

Foghat. Fool for the city. Always makes me chuckle !

big bamboo-Cheech and chong

Supertramp - Crisis? What Crisis?

This is a cool thread.
MTB - Long Hard Ride
I always really liked this one as well. Frank McCarthy did the artwork, I've since bought two of his prints including a variant of the one used for the album.
Fording

I love early Jeeps and the mountains of Colorado, so this one has always ranked high for me! I've driven on Black Bear Pass (this album is called Black Bear Road). It is a one-way trail with a super cool water fall you drive past on a rocky downhill section and then there are some real tight switch backs all the way to Ouray. You also drive past Bridal Veil Falls, a popular photo spot.
The Silverton area of southwest Colorado has some great 4x4 trails!

Yessongs, for the #1 nomination. Slim pickings after all the great ones mentioned.
A couple few more:
Blind Faith
Blows Against the Empire - Jefferson Starship, Dragonfly pretty neat too.
Free - self titled
Eat a Peach, also Court and Spark - Joni Mitchell, for style class and simplicity.)

Beatles revolver

All of the Neon Park Little Feat Albums
MTB - Searchin For a Rainbow
CDB - Fire on the Mountain
